talking about 4wd's......heres my brothers fourby and his workmate testing their suspension travel. my brothers fourby is the nissan

here are the can settings that came inside the box...... my brother said that the lobe lift is mesured from the base circle of the cam itself....meaning that the rest of the 400+ lift is made up of the circle...

yeah i suppose......but 5th gear also has its advantages....i'm still looking for a k to T series bell housing.....until i get one and a t series box. i'll stick with the 5 speed......it also depends on how you drive it....i'f you wanna be a cockhead you are going to break shit......if you drive it like its meant to be driven then you wont break as much stuff........simple as that...... the old saying also comes to mind "drive it like you stole it"....... which is sometimes how i drive my car.....only when i'm very pissed off....not in the near future though

good point......however i shall see how the 5 speed goes.....since i do alot of highway driving....

sorry people........ben pointed something out to me tonight on the dyno program.....i had the valves set at a standard head size valves.......now i have recalulated and i am pleased to say that i am hopefully going to have a car with get this........ 150hp @ 6500rpm. :| :) And 121pounds per foot of torque @ 6500rpm so now Mr excel.......EAT MY DUST!!!!!!!.......or tyre smoke...... :laff: :laff:

oh that statement about 120hp at the flywheel is about right.....i put a couple of specs through the dyno 2000 program and came out with 122@6500rpm. thats providing that all goes well.....i may even have more....:|

ok now...... this week brings some more info on the engine......since teddy wants to hear more...:| on thursday this week the engine fella came and gave me the block and the cam back all nicely done.... the crank, conrods and the flywheel (which has yet to be lightened). Thats about it for now.....heres some pictures.....gunna paint it once i have it back together.... also found out that the weber carby i have is what they used to use on the 4.2 litre landcruisers......:)

i might be coming provided that i have nothing important on that night (20th)....or my car is in peices....so count me in...:|

ok peoples....... i would like to hear any road rage related stories that have happened to you and or if you have ever commited a road rage offense.] heres mine. driving home from work tonight i was on a 4 lane road with a vs commodore beside me in the right hand lane and i was a bit concerned about the car behind me (a vn commodore) and he seemed to be a little too close for my liking (about a foot or so off my bumper). so i proceed to do the speed limit (60km/h) about a 500m down the road the speed changes to 70km/h so the VS commodore was still beside me and i decided to slow down a bit to let him pass...(his lights were shining in my eyes) then the VN commodore speeds up beside me and starts mouthing off ( i couldn't hear him because he had his window up). so i politely give him the finger and he mouths something else and puts his foot to the floor and takes off..... about 600m down the road hes still in the right lane and is stopping at a set of lights and i know that i can turn left into a street to drop my friend off. so as we pass him me and my friend casually wave at him and i drive off into the night. its people like these that put other road users in danger and they should learn some respect for the other road users..... anyway i would like to hear any other road rage incidents that you may have had, it should make a good topic :|

i'm still waiting to see what hes done to the intake manifold........he said he was doing something special to it......*shrugs*

i was talking to my brother tonight....all is going well......i can't get the pistons i wanted so the ones i have will have to do. the engine rebuilder is still working on the block and crank.....the cam has been done and is back at the workshop. everythying has yet to be balanced. the head was done by Head Torque at mansfield if anyone is interested. i should have everything back by this friday.....then the real action starts to take place..... :| anywho.....back to getting inebreated (spelling) :)

ok.....now that i've had a think about it......i prolly can't miss work.....so don't change the date if it suits everyone else.....i'll just go next time :| .

very true.......i wouldnt want to take my engine to 8 grand anyway since i will prolly still have the stock running gear, although how strong would a carbon fibre tailshaft be......i'm thinking much stronger than a stock one, $1200 is fairly good for one of them. however i'll prolly upgrade the running gear down the track a bit....gotta do some research first, and build the bank up again :|.

jaycar is also a good place for lights and stuff..... :|

thanks for that superjamie.....i'll prolly end up with the solid holden lifters and try to get some push rods to fit them, the cam is being ground this week coming..... :D .....should have the std block and crank on monday, then it goes to the engine rebuilder to get bored and the crank linished......all coming along nicely :D

a couple of weeks down the track.......we have some more rice to show ya!!! :D :D hmmm.....15 inch fill out those guards allright....:no:
