  1. lol, ive seen a few locked cars doing mountain runs...and people say a 1g ke70 will understeer, have a look at anything locked, it plows straight ahead til it hits a bump and then jumps sideways... and in the wet, lockers get very hairy. the LSD in my rolla is very tight, and will kick sideways at the drop of a hat, but watching a locked car do the same corners i did, the difference is very obvious
  2. oh wahh, its gonna get dirty if i drive it. a-sookie-sookie lol, just gives you an excuse to polish it again  hope your gonna keep the undercarriage and all spotless :D
  3. why would you put a 4a in a ra65 though? it would be a tad small and gutless me thinks
  4. this is shocking. consider how much fluid pressure there is in a caliper. add heat when you do a downhill mountain run. do not take any meat out of a caliper, let alone that much. as corolla1 said, change rims or calipers. but don't WASHER OUT YOUR RIMS. thats even dodgier than spacers, and they don't ahve much going for them. consider how the wheel seats and consider what your doing when you add washers. wheels and brakes are a very important peice of kit on your car, before you do anything, stop, and think very seriously about the implications and how you are changing what happens in a standard setup.
  5. if you need a hand building crap, let me know :( looking the goods mate, and was that a hired tilt tray or do you know someone that owns one?
  6. hmm, sounds interesting pics? :lolcry:
  7. wont nolathene wear out rather quick? wheres this bush for? is it the bush around the pin or something different? cheers, andrew
  8. haha thats pretty close to how mine sat, lower all round, but leaning back a little, that was just to keep 100mm under the sump gaurd, but it did seem to make it handle, I'm sure theres a theory behind it... I'm probably gonna wet sump it this time, to get the front lower and then drop the rear even more :lolcry:
  9. mm, 1g in ke70 is fun then the bug bites and you start aiming high... :$ mine lasted 5000km before i de-regoed it to rebuild it again with big hp in mind, and respray it etc, lots of dollars later its starting to get somewhere. just a word of warning, its not an easy fit, and the single turbo is very useful in making it clear brake and clutch. they f@$king hammer when you put a 1g in a ke70, and mine handled quite well, i think thats coz i kept the front end high and rear end low, escort rally style y0 haha. mounts arnt too bad to make when you look at the ones i have, and it sits the motor relatively low, but the sump sits down well below the crossmember so something has to be done to protect it, or you can flat sump the motor with an external pump... cheers, andrew
  10. oh dear, not another conspiracy theorist :lolcry:
  11. and ive gotta mention, how good were the forward passes qld got away with :lolcry:
  12. haha sore losers :lolcry: its originally brisbane based, but everyone is in hibernation
  13. the blues had a game like qld in the first game, alot of standing still, no possession in position, just a flat game and qld were brilliant 30 nil, thats gotta make ya smile :lolcry:
  14. ohh yeah :P 12-0 22nd minute we win :P good start :wootjump:
  15. drop into that ford and holden early spares over the highway from the hyperdome jon and have a chat, i can remember but it was alot more than i was going to pay on my old rust bucket, ill probably be doing it with the new car when i get to that point...
  16. where you from mate? there are little brass bushes on the hinges that wear, so you need to replace these, the pins are usually good when i was looking for my ke70 early ford and holden spares in loganholme could do the kits, but they were expensive...so i ended up drilling out the pins and putting a allen key head bolt through...hardly the sort of thing you would do on a correct resto... cheers, andrew
  17. how does he drain the water out of the gas tank?
  18. http://www.transquip.com.au/product.aspx?ID=5347 that one?
  19. is that free air delivery or pump displacement?
  20. des is ae70 exxy = expensive
  21. you can get 3 phase put on des, its just abit exxy to get it done
  22. costly to get it if u don't know a sparky
  23. to be honest, i can run a 3hp 15amp compressor to feed a a gravity feed gun all day without a drama at 50 psi. but a sander its flat out holding 70 psi. so it really depends how much air you really are using. whats the CFM on the gun? do you have access to borrowing compressors? just try and see what can keep up and what can't. i usually run my 3hp 3 cylinder belt drive in conjuction with my 2.5hp direct drive and with the two it will keep 80psi to the sander for an hour straight, but the water trap ends up filled. trouble with smaller compressors is they work much harder and breathe alot more water than a big f@$k off compressor that just lumbers along and doesnt batt an eyelid at flowing 3 guns at the same time.
  24. sorry, i was going to post today that its not til next wednesday, it slipped my mind last time i read the thread. owell, enjoy your night in  light some candles, open a bottle of red wine and enjoy the evening...
