  1. Are you sure... i couldve sworn the number was on the head (4k-c) and the engine # on the receipt for the car and on my roadworthy don't match... id just go out and check but I'm not at home
  2. Hey guys, got a roadworthy foir my corolla the other day and going for rego on monday but it just occured to me the engine number will be different as ive replaced the head. Does anyone know what ill have to do to avoid being f**ked around by vicroads when i go in? Cheers, Jason
  3. I know suzuki sierra shocks also bolt in, but yeah pretty sure vn wagon shocks do too
  4. Hey, ive done a bit of a search but couldnt find what i was after. My 4k runs fine, but when it gets up to operating temp it seems to stall when idling. Other than that it runs fine. ive done some reading and apparently the points could cause this? i know nothing about points so what should i be looking for / checking? Also my distributor seems to have a bit of dust and stuff in it, what could i use to clean it all up a bit? Cheers, Jason
  5. Thanks for the help, didnt think the stock sender would work but thought id double check. Didnt come with an adaptor so ill go and try and get one, if i have any probs wiring it ill come back here. Thanks mate
  6. Hey guys, need some help wiring in my "drift" temp gauge. (yes have searched and couldnt find anything) First of all the sender that came with it is the wrong size... can i use the original? and which sensor is the actual temp sensor? and for the rest of the wiring i should just be able to grab power etc from the head unit wiring yeah? Cheers for any help, Jason
  7. Go rb20... just as easy and probably only a few hunge more
  8. don't seem to have ANY luck at all with car bargains but managed to pick up a ps3 + 2 controllers + 3 games for $320 Also got a new camera for $400 (talked down from $550)
  9. Sports wheels should be universal with the boss kit. As far as lights go i think you can upgrade the wiring to improve brightness (try searching on here?) Car looks real good btw makes me wanna change my brown interior to black
  10. If you really like the wheels the cheapest and easiest (and nastiest) way to fix it is to just use spacers. 20mm ons to suit an s13 should do the trick. Theyre not legal and a lot of people don't like them blah blah but me and many others have used them without any problems
  11. Maybe a vacum leak somewhere? Did you change anything else when putting them on?
  12. That happened with me as well, i just unscrewed the plug out of the cup, guessing then you just slide it back in (havent reinstalled them myself yet)
  13. badger badger badger badger....
  14. Yeah the oil shouldnt just "vanish".... definately a problem there but it could be a few things.... how does the car run otherwise?
  15. Managed to snap a head bolt off in the block, so until i get that out shes on hold. Pushed it out of the shed and got a few snaps though.
  16. Yeah ive gotten snapped bolts out of a turbo doing this before so think its the way to go. Anyone at all got a welder? Or is there places in melb i can go and hire one for the day?
  17. Wasnt overtensioned and the motor is still in the car. Not to keen to use an easyout because it wasnt a clean break...
  18. Hey guys, ive managed to snap off a cylinder head bolt off in the block of my motor and figured the best way to get it out would be to try and weld a nut / bit of metal onto it and unscrew it. Problem is i don't own a welder. If anyone has one theyd be willing to lend / help me out itd be much appreciated. Can throw you some cash / slab / bottle of alcohol whatever u prefer really. I'm located in hawthorn. Cheers, Jason
  19. Sandpaper, autosol and a LOT of patience....
  20. My rubber appears to be in good condition from what i remember but ill double check when I'm back home. Hopefully be able to find a 2nd hand screen from someone on here... cheers guys.
  21. Have heard many things but i really don't think its that bad unless your running huge amounts of boost. Know plenty of people that have been running stockish setups for quite some time with no problems. Its also argued that theres a difference between flutter and actual compressor surge but I'm not entirely sure on that one...
  22. Hey guys, apparently my rolla needs a new windscreen (ke55) so i thought id ask on here first if anyone knew of a good place (cheap) to get a new windscreen fitted. I'm in hawthorn so the closer to there the better... Cheers, Jason
  23. Didnt go tooooo bad but got picked up on a fair few minor things. The worst of it was: Windscreen needs replacing, New shoes+drums need machining, steering box has play (hopefully just needs adjusting) and 4 new tyres. Everything else was just little things like reverse globes, legal steering wheel etc etc. Anyone know where to get a cheap windscreen in melb?
  24. Id be keen to see some pics of the ke55 double swaybar setup. Haven't looked at the swaybars at all on rollas but to do it to r31s isn't too hard and gives good results...
  25. Hey guys, just realised my rolla doesn't have any reverse globes and I've got no idea what sort of globes go in there... can someone point me in the right direction / give me the numbers off one of their globes... Cheers, jason
