  1. Hey guys, Now i know quad headlights are popular on the ke70s, ae71s but how do you think theyd look on a ke30/55. Youd have to modify the grille etc to suit but i think it could look cool. Was wondering if anyone else had thought about / done this? EDIT - I mean modifying ke30 lights and grille to fit not trying to adapt ke70 ones Cheers, Jason
  2. Too easy, Cheers guys
  3. Ah thatd explain it then, guess i'll have to get the drill out. Only doing it like this as ill be getting the engine out with a jack and help from mates, havent got an engine crane. And thanks for the tip on the radiator.
  4. Hey guys, I'm in the process of taking the motor out of my ke55, and ive seen a lot of people when doing this have taken the grille etc off the front of the car and then taken the middle bit out (up near the top of the radiator, I'm not sure what its called..) Ive taken everything else off but can't figure out how to get this bit out. there doesnt seem to be any bolts or anything there but it just doesnt wanna come out. Can anyone help me out? Cheers, Jason
  5. You can also use the rear end out of an r31, usually need to shorten the axles and do some other stuff though
  6. The polorisor that they put in VL nitrons
  7. Even a 1/2 cage would help stiffen things up a bit and wouldnt be too intrusive
  8. Hey guys, I'm currently exploring the option of getting my 4k rebuilt. Its spun a bottom end so ill probably just wanna get the bearings replaced and also may put in a cam where I'm there... can anyone reccomend a place in melb (east) to get this done? Also what kind of figure (ballpark) would i be looking at to get this done? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Jason
  9. hey guys already done a bit of a search and found that the 3k / 4k are pretty similar but i was just wondering about a few specific parts. Ive got a 3k block here as my 4k did a bottom and and the 3k is missing bits like distributor, alternator, starter motor etc. Will my 4k bits just bolt on and work fine? Cheers, Jason
  10. Thanks philbey thats all i needed to know, figured metho would do the trick but wasnt 100% sure. and budowski you shouldnt be giving bogus advice like that! Everyone knows that sand works heaps better....
  11. Hey guys, Ive got a block sitting here and the bores have dirt and stuff in them as it had been sitting in a shed without a head. How should i go about cleaning them up a bit so itd be suitable to use? Cheers, Jason
  12. Have a look at the GKTECH wheels, havent felt or used one personally but i hear good things
  13. Makes me cry thinking about all the speedway kids ive known that buy pristine ones and turn them into junours, crash them and then start again. They will only get rarer and I'm guessing they'll keep getting more expensive as more of them fall victim to rust, speedway and p platers
  14. I really, really hope that was a joke......
  15. If its a coil that needs a resistor then run one, otherwise when the car is driven for a while it'll jump around and carry on and generally not drive (as i found out)
  16. VL pump wouldnt be overkill so i'd just go with that.
  17. Was just visiting my girlfriend whose back there for uni holidays haha
  18. Spotted a brown ke70 dumped on some kind of low offset wheels (saw it at the last minute) in horsham yesterday.
  19. If I'm back in melb by then ill be keen to come down
  20. Did all this and it got a bit better, but found out whoever put the bosch coil in didnt run it with a resistor so the coil gets 12v instead of 8, heats up n causes the spark to break down so have to get a resistor asap.
  21. Instead of making a new thread i just thought id also ask here, where abouts in melb would be good to take my 55 to get an exhaust made up? looking for somewhere that wont charge an arm and leg
  22. Looks like a good project mate, and if you were wondering the valve springs you need are out of a holden 202 (blue)
  23. Wish i could help mate, pity that anyone wanting to do anything remotely different gets shot down, commo v6 in a rolla would be perfect for what you want it for. I'm guessing if your pretty handt with a welder you could just measure up and cut / weld your own mounts and stuff using a combo of the commo and rolla stuff
  24. Hey mate, if you have a bit of a search around you'll be able to find some good info. With suspension theres a few options from the dodgy cut falcon springs to getting king springs put in... as far as carbs go the 32 / 36 is a bit big on a pretty stock motor but gemini cards, twin carbs etc can be put on also. But as i said search and you shall find
  25. Just found a pic and its definately there... will have to look into why the number would be different on the receipt =/ Cheers guys
