  1. My ke70 has light blue interior and it's a CS or whatever the crummy ones were, i thought the interior colour just depended on what colour the car was not what model it was?
  2. cooler than a polar bear's toe hairs
  3. A 5K is basically a bored out version of the 4K, they're definitely an upgrade over the 4K. Corollas came out with a 5 speed, called a K50, but they were in the later model corollas and I'm not sure if they fit into KE10s. Hope I helped a bit, a toyota nerd on here will probably soon clarify this. Edit: hectic20s beat me to it
  4. Maybe you could get some aftermarket seats instead of retrimming your stock ones, there's a fair few get sold on here. Then peeps would think you were fully sick bro
  5. Whoah, I'm sorry guys I wasn't trying to be offensive or a smart arse or anything, I was replying to Corey's inquiry about the 5k, and just giving him a pointer to let him know he can search this kind of thing, I wasn't making a smart aleck reply to Sam's post. I really should have stated who I was talking to though. I'm sorry, I had no intention of flaming anyone.
  6. My bad, not the wheels on the car the sportmax's in the link you posted. I'm just tripping I'll shutup now
  7. Here's a link to the aforementioned 5K: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...4692&st=105 P.S. the search function is really handy (top right corner of the page if you haven't found it yet)
  8. Can you weld, or do you know someone who can weld? Custom brackets are easy and you don't have to go drilling holes in your car like you probably would to fit the T18 brackets. I made a set of custom brackets for my KE70 using the standard ones. I cut a couple of inches off the end of the bracket where you would usually mount the standard bumpers, then welded metal plates that fitted inside the chrome bumper on to the end of the cut down brackets. Then I painted the brackets and bolted them in, held the bumper up to them and marked the bolt holes for the bumper onto the metal plate with a marker. It takes a while to get it all lined up right but it works fine. Tally's way is probably easier though
  9. Do some research, 13B is pretty much the only option
  10. A worked 4K would be fun, can't really get more than 100hp out of a 4K apparently, unless you're really gnarly. So it's up to you, is 100hp good enough performance? If not then 4AGE is the go.
  11. It's pretty simple, if you have KE70 struts you have to use KE70 steering arms, but AE86 struts are better because there is a greater availability of upgraded parts for them, although to use AE86 struts you have to use AE86 steering arms. So it's the struts you use that determine what upgrades you can make, not the steering arms. So yes, using the KE70 gear will reduce you ability to upgrade suspension. Go for AE86 stuff if you want what's good.
  12. KE10 gearboxes won't fit up to a 4AGE if that's what you're asking, and a 4AGE KE10 would be cool but in my opinion KE10s should be kept oldschool. Goodluck anyway
  13. Yeah I'll let him know. I didn't do the paint but I was there when it got done. Those wheels would be twice as cool if they weren't sportmax, but they'd still look heaps gnarly
  14. I never really thought about it that much, I just figured if they make huge aftermarket ones then they must be for the win otherwise they wouldn't make them. Thanks for the heads up. And yeah i totally agree, FWD sucks butt.
  15. "Overall, a stiffer rear sway takes out understeer, and a stiffer front sway puts in more understeer." So basically the front one is good enough just for fun and skids but a rear sway bar upgrade is the way to go?
  16. "same with the tail lights cause I wouldn't mind getting some new ones" - KE70 tail lights don't fit, they're too wide from memory. This is my friends old car, good to see you've got some nice plans for it.
  17. Firstly, there is a search function at the top off the page in the tabs under the rollaclub banner, when you figure out how to use it it's great. This question is so redundant it's not even funny. Okay so basically the engine is an A series engine, therefor you need the parts out of an A series car to go with it, ie AE71, AE86 blah blah. I've never done the conversion myself, but I've read about it a fair bit, From what i can recall you need: - AE71 crossmember (bolts straight in apparently) - AE71 Pedal box (for hydro clutch) - RWD manifolds (or cut n shut, unless you can get your hands on a 4AGE already set up for RWD) - T50 gearbox (came in AE71, AE86, T18 from what I know, not sure if this bolts up to your K series gearbox crossmember) - Custom tailshaft to fit your standard diff, or do a diff swap I can't even remember, those would just be the main things there would be so many other small things to sort out like suspension and brake upgrade to pass engineering and so on, just read this: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=5644
  18. Keep the 5k, k series rules!
  19. If it isn't one of the above issues it may be carbon build up on your pistons, which can cause your engine to run on after you turn it off because there is the tiniest amount of petrol left soaked into the carbon, doubt it would make it "shudder" much though. If you think this is the case you can get an additive for the petrol which will clean off the carbon.
  20. Are you looking for an engine upgrade or just an engine? either way toyota 5K is the easiest and probably the cheapest other than the standard 4K. Unless it's a AE71, then you should either get the standard 4AC or go for a 4AGE as mentioned above ( Note: 4AGE for the mother flipping win)
  21. You can get little coping saw things that have a coarse cable instead of a blade, no idea what they are called but they work great. I used one to cut my dash up for a headunit. You just have to drill a whole so you have somewhere to start cutting from, and you'd be able to get them from a hardware store for pretty cheap. Edit: Might be called a fret saw
