Jason Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 yep, the government is AGAINST driver training. Australia is getting stupider... Quote
love ke70 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 what was the news article regarding and what was the context of the sentence? Quote
Jason Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 it was at the end of the P plate article, anoucing the new soon to come P restriction on new drivers. Then at the end people were talking about driver saftey, then had people comment on how driver training should be mandatory, then some comment from this retard. I will acknowledge that media also can suck ma balls. So it may have been strechted out of context, but when you see it, its fairly firm statement. Quote
Teddy Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 lol Australian *natural talent* drivers FTW. Quote
Jason Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 what genuinely scares me is that there are people like this who have power! and can take things away from us. i have never herd of a person who is against driver training. No one, my grandparents have shouted me sessions ffs. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) I think if you consider it in its context it is not as retarded as it sounds. The issue is that they must address the deaths of youths (like us i guess) in high powered vehicles (like fully sik rollas of course). So they can either regulate further as they are doing, or offer driver training SERVICES to us underpriveliged youths. So one sounds expensive, and the other raises revenues with minimal added expenses. Its obvious what will happen. Thats just economics and it f@$ken sucks. The issue isnt the out of context clip, it is the push for this solution by the qld government. I think that it is super important to give new and semi experienced drivers training in all aspects of motoring. The government disagrees. Vote for the gun party on your next opportunity. I dare you. SoulSearcher Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 my comprehensive insurance covers my daughter (well any of my children under 25 I think) free defensive driving courses, and once they've done them they offer an insurance discount for life for them... way to go AAMI :D  Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 a month or so ago i saw on the news i think it was monash uni? did a study and found people with advanced driving courses are more likely to crash than people without training, due to 'cockyness' behind the wheel i wonder how much the uni got paid for that comment? coln72 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 After winning a defensive driving course at the local indoor karts I thought I was pretty hot behind the wheel. Let me tell you it opened my eyes as to how much I didn't know (oh shit another dead cone :D ). YES defensive driving courses should be mandatory!!!!!!! Overseas studies have shown that with a proper program, fatalities will reduce. I'd go one further and make it mandatory to be involved with a car club and get to know how a car handles before you get your P's Quote
Jono Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 i had accidently turned off the traction control when i did BMW driver training. it was wet at eastern creek and my first high speed ass out action. needless to say i was told over the radio to make sure the TCS was on. yeah, driver training can make you feel "cocky" but i do think it should be compulsory (as well as being tested on how to change a fan belt or a spare wheel like they do in germany. this would make run-flat tyres unneccessary). Teddy Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Ive done countless driving cources, and i still feel i need more. I consider my self a relievetly good driver, but I'm the 5% that is like a granmar driver on the road with reflex's unlike grannys hahah. *meh* . I Have never crashed, come close, had a ticket or had any confrentation with the law fullstop. Either 2 and a bit years good luck or.. ? lol.. who knows. If they don't infoce it = a market for buisness :D Quote
