my first day on this forum and just read this whole thread. Amazing stuff. can't wait for the next installment.

Slowly chipping away.

 

2/3rds of the bay is in primer. Need to finish of some welding and then paint the bay then engine goes in and gets running.

 

Then the rest of the body work follows.

 

I made some rust repairs under the panel which houses the wiper arms and gets air for the cabin (no idea on the name of it) was thinking should i add a chassis strengthening bar from one side to the other? Put a mount for a triangled strut brace or put an oil cooler in there?

I ended up repairing the rear quarter but still yet to tackle the wheel arch. The ebay one has disappeared.

Glad to see you are making progress Cuz. At least you have the motor and driveline sorted. It's just the painful task of body work.

I would say, no, maybe, and no to the q's.

 

Would probably mount triangled strut brace to the seam that runs along the firewall. if you are running a cage i would tie it into that.

So some progress.....

 

Engine bay in primer....need to finish off the cooler mounting and radiator setup. Ill have to put the motor back in for the time being and mock everything up. Any holes to be drilled...then i can lay some colour.

 

 

 

Still no clue for us regarding the colour …. Looks like we will just have to wait this one out.
