Teddy Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 hmmm, that pic doesn't show much.. ok - basically every wire in the back of the console had to be individually popped out, and put into the T18's clips - 4 days later it eventually worked. We then went to the wreckers, and literally took out the entire wiring loom from a wrecked Ke70, and followed back about 20 wires and cut them as long as we could so we could extend the wiring loom to fix everything in nicely. All you can see there is the finished product... But now we can ad least connect up either the old or the new dash with the brilliant wiring Jason has got atm (not sarcastic) ! Quote
Jason Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 Ok the mess was so bad some knots were 10cm think of twisted wire :doublebird: Just to give you some eg. Bleh? Quote
demuire Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Umm, I would suggest that once you get it working, replace those connector blocks with proper soldered joints. Those connector blocks come loose, and it's bloody annoying trying to figure out which connection has gone haywire... Also, it will make your wiring *a lot* neater. If you can, use heat shrink instead of tape too. Quote
Jason Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 Yes i have found out, but also got some silcone past, it 'glues' it in. You may have seen some, its kind of like that blue stuff. Quote

Teddy Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Hehehehe Pfft - who needs a station wagon when you can do that  but i never realized how heavy and chunky a T series diff is ;) Quote
ae71neo Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 How much did that one cost you? My cousin bought one a little while ago for $140, i rang there again like 3 weeks later and they wanted $220 for the other one...bastards Quote
Jason Posted December 24, 2004 Author Report Posted December 24, 2004 Well he wanted $250 but i ended it paying him $210 any way. Its a little steep but i really needed one and we had already driven out there  Quote
Teddy Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Yeah - We paid $210, but we got a diff with 162*** on it, and besides from the dirt and crap + usual oil, and break fluid from cutting break lines, i personally was pretty happy with it. We budjeted for around the $150 (or a lil more) mark, and considering we sold the old driveline and old g-box 2 days ago for $200... i think we did ok  Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I think you could have got a lot more for that gearbox, what was wrong with it? what gearbox do you intend on using? Quote
Teddy Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 It was just old and tired. It had 375,000 on it. When i drove it, it felt ok.. but compaired to mine.. it was 'loose-ish'... just old age, and really, tired. We plan to get another T50 thats in better condition, lower Kms. To what i know, the guy who purchased it was going to reco the lot. So i suppoze its a win win situation. Quote
Jason Posted December 24, 2004 Author Report Posted December 24, 2004 If you felt it you would know what matt means. Quote
