67Rolla-Ken Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 (edited) Sorry to say this, but I'm not a huge fan of the colour... I really like the silver  Edit: but I'm sure it will look better in real life. Edited July 10, 2009 by 67Rolla-Ken Quote
RA28GT Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I like the colour. Looks tough, especially with those red walls. I like that look ALOT. Quote
Doogs Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Are you planning on having the door handle and lock chrome. As well as a chrome strip over the top of the windows? Seems like it will need just that something to break it up a bit. Agreed. Otherwise, looking good. I know how you feel with regards to rust and dodgy repairs, makes the process so much longer when you have to fix someone else f*** ups. Do you have access to a MIG ? Quote
seabiscuit Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 That photoshop makes the car look like it's got something angry hiding under the bonnet (and also looks awesome) Good luck with the restoration. Will try keep an eye on it! Quote
Murd 55 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Report Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) nah i don't have access to a mig. plans are to get the car to a panel beater to get the rear quarter fixed. going to get all the bog knocked out and new metal in the quarter where needed so as MINIMAL bog is needed, if any at all, also need to get new bits for the sill panel and the bit behind the arches, today i might take some photos of the problem areas so as people can see how bad it really is, lets say i was pulling chunks of bog out the boot thou. lol. door handles and window trims and al that will still be chrome and i deffinately think it will look much better irl than the photochop as thats a rough estimation of the colour as there isnt much i can find on the internet i just know it looked hot on the lexus we had at work. its got a like multicolour flake sorta look to it as well. might consider gettin the rear vents chromed if need be to break the colour up a bit. here is a bit better photo-chop. still pretty crappy thou. Murd 55 Posted August 9, 2009 Author Report Posted August 9, 2009 on the weekend decided i would pull the back end out get some paint on the diff and get it all back together, alas didnt happen. but i started, hehe. i am having issues sourcing some bushes to suit, went to repco and they seem to have shit ones i don't want and tried at auto barn for some noelthelene ones or whatever and they seem to be having issues also, so will have to work all that out soon, also wondering the best shocks for front and rear. anyways got the diff all unbolted and one of the leaves out didnt feel so great so didnt bother with the other side seeing as i couldnt source any parts anyways. anyways some pictures, worth a thousand words apparently :lolcry: so slack! difference in stance between stock and new leaves! how i left it at the end of the day, obviously under a cover thou! Murd 55 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) so finally got some work done, had to happen eventually, thanks to ryan for doing most the work for me, didnt get photos of all we did but most of where the rust is, stripped some other places where there was small amounts of rust and have weld through primed everything as the car is out in the weather can't afford to let any water get to the metal. cut the fuel filler out as well, might be filling over and locating elsewhere not sure yet, if i can get one that isnt rusted to hell and back i will prob put one back there if not i will modify a filler in the boot. ill let the pictures talk :) just had to snap this one is the rear ride height with the new springs, deff liking the fitment bring on some 15x8's possibly the worst of the rust in the car and the hardest to fix, but ryan is talented I'm sure ;) GOT BOG? lol plan on stripping the repair back hammer and dolly it alot better and then as little bog as possible, i did strip alot more out and omgg my mums driveway had a distinct bog tinge to it! EDIT: going to mums today might take some more photos. Edited October 5, 2009 by Murd 55 Quote
