Knight Industries Three Thousand (aka the mustang) is way cooler. But as a kid watching Knight Rider and thinking just how awesome it'd be having a car that could drive itself. And then later on finding out it was nothing more then someone stuffed in the boot it still sounds pretty cool

The kitcars and VW Kombi made me think of Meyers Manx (or eqiv) Buggies.
