car is getting a 2 tone job. black around the windows and following the bodyline down to the quarter panels accross the bonnet.

 

the rest will be silver. with a red pinstripe separating the two colours. this will continue inside the door jams and doors and boot.

Can start mounting stuff like me MSD now. But now that the clear has been bought, just another Primer kit and thats the paint side of things sorted.

 

Next on the list will be suspension so i can get it on some real wheels. Then engine, I can't wait for the mechanical side of things to get underway.

Had a bit of a road trip today. Ended at UPI elizabeth. Where i found a overrated condition drivers side guard.

 

When I say "overrated" i mean, no dents, great condition chrome trim, not twisted. and most of all, NO RUST. None what so ever, not even surface rust.

 

When i pulled it off and looked at the inside of it I almost died in shock.

 

Just have to fill 1 hole as the 55 it came off of had long bumpers.

Got the doors stripped down yesterday. While i got them all apart they will recieved electric windows and central locking. central locking is cheap, power windows arent as cheap so i might be a little while before the power windows go in. Have sorted out what I'm using in the way of a security system too.

Got a couple things on the way for the wagoon. One will be a NOS tailgate handle.

 

The other......will be revealed when its recieved, put back together and on the car :hmm:

 

Also picking up a 5K in bits this friday for it too :D

Plans so far for it are

 

Acid Dip

Bore and Hone +20thou

Deck both the block and the head

ACL rebuild Kit, along with new pistons.

Rather lumpy cam, around 282 duration as suggested by Mick.

Fully balanced bottom end, with a slightly lightened flywheel.

 

Wanna build it to see high compression. I've seen what Philbey's is like with 13.? :1. So maybe around the 12:1 mark?

 

Might send the block off to get Acid dipped, bored and honed in the next couple of weeks. Full mechanical work wont start untill the body is finished and the suspension has been taken care of.

No work on the beast this weekend, spent most of it getting Luc's 55 down to the workshop. Hopefully i'll have some new bits and pieces by next weekend.
