Evan G Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) ive heard the tyres are more stable at high speeds and theres no pressure change when hotter? "reduces" Edited February 3, 2010 by Evan G Quote

B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 i like how the list says it "could" do this and it "could" do that. It sounds like a bit of a crock to me. Maybe it does reduce noise and vibration but I wouldn't think it would by much. Might be worth it if you had an F1 car. Are they charging for it? Quote

Redwarf Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Being someone who works in an industry where we do use dry nitrogen in tyres, I consider using it in road tyres a crock. Quote
irokin Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Clearly written by a moron. "Due to the lower sound speed in nitrogen gases..." Nitrogen: 353 m/s Oxygen: 330 m/s Quote
doots Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 give them a brake the guy was probably rushed for time and needed a good idea on the poster ^^ id rather buy better tyres personally Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 "due to the larger molecules of nitrogen over oxygen it could maintain tyre pressure" Does this mean if you keep inflating your tyres with boring old "atmosphere" you'll basically have nitrogen filled tyres from the oxgen seeping out? (over a very long time) Crock of shit. I remember when it was all the rage a few years ago, now its very rarely spoken off. Quote
styler Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) just to add normal air is about 78% nitrogen anyway... Edited February 3, 2010 by styler Quote
coln72 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 local trucking company swears by it though...... Reckon the benefits in increased k's from the tyres is worth the expense. Quote

irokin Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 I'm willing to bet they've installed Hiclones in all the intake piping too? ;) QFT Whats saving their tyres is correct tyre pressures. So the nitrogen doesn't leak at the same rate or something? The same effect can be achieved just by checking your tyre pressures half regularly. Quote
