Toyota Corona

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My brother is looking for a car and just wants some specs on a Toyota Corona. He is looking at the 84-87 models (T142 i believe the model is). Does anyone know what sort of motor they use? I know they mainly had 2.0L motors but some CSI/Avante models had 2.4L's. He wants a corona particularly cos its rear wheel drive and he wants something a bit bigger than a corolla, but still a legendary toyota.

Does anyone have any ideas about what motors these cars had, and whether they were carby/efi, powerful or not (kw), good on the fuel etc etc.

Cheers

oh and i have googled but my search didnt come up all that fruitful.

there's an ST142 in the current zoom with a CA18DET in it, with 163kw at the wheels. total stock looking sleeper :y:

its ashame ALOT of them were Autos.. apparently the manual box's are f_r_e_k_i_n strong.. for what they are.

The auto's make them slugs.. well, autos make any car a slug.

those W40s and W50s are the steel case toyota box all the drag car rotor buys use. they handle 300+kw no problems

Toyota did make a 8v 4cyl Turbo Corona, however finding one alive now days is liking finding the Yeti :y:

good old TT1** - had a 3TGTEU engine, came in coupe form.

there was also sedans and wagons with the 3T-C engine.

ST142 came with the 2S-C which is a 2 litre Carby Engine.

RT14x (Avante models) came with the 22R-C or 22R-E

does anyone know the power/torque specs for either of these motors?

a 22R has 103hp and 193 somethings of torque, search for hilux pages in america, these are popular 4x4 engines
