supra2 Posted October 7, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 7, 2013 Thanks Reed. Hi Mika. The small stub tube is a bit hard to explain why, I just felt the car needed it. Main reason is because the car now has rear strut towers transfering load into the rear fire wall. The Corolla steel is quite thin gauge, even with the 3mm plates, it just needed the load to be spread over a larger area to help reduce flex. supra2 Posted October 8, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 8, 2013 don't know of any other welded subframes. I do have a new set of poly bushes here if you want something stiffer than rubber. supra2 Posted October 11, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 11, 2013 Hey Justin, Have you done a mock up of how the rear suspension will sit? eg, the angle of the A arms with the car at the ride height you want and the wheels and tyres your using. Being a lowered track car, you might be surprised at how high you will have to mount the sub frame to get things like traction and anti squat to work. Front struts now braced to the cage.
