Yesterday I got inspired and decided to yank the engine out of my parts car so could get the 5 speed and anything else useful from it and cube the shell.

 

Much to my amazement my other half wanted to lend a hand... so I gave her a phillips head and a 10mm socket and told her to remove whatever she could.

 

Within half an hour she'd stripped all the light fittings, bezels and brackets and was keen to do more so I let her cut sick in the engine bay and another hour later she'd isolated the engine completely and we just dragged it out.

 

She then proceeded to split the gearbox from the engine and we were done.... :P

Several fingernails were broken during the procedure. May their sacrifice be not in vain.

 

Anyways I just thought I'd whack this up cos I've never had a girlfriend be even REMOTELY interested in my vehicular tinkering before so I reckon its pretty cool. She also likes it when I drive really fast and dangerously... which is a lot of the time, so thats also a good thing.

 

So this post itsn't meant to be a girlfriend competition, but does anyone else have a partner that helps out gettin greasy bleeding knuckles like we do?

 

It'd be nice to know there's more than one!

I had the same problem with my girlfriend for a while there. They get over it if you mean that much to them.

My ex hated my passion of cars. A good reason that she is now an ex. ;)

funny that, ive spent the last two weeks locked up in a storage unit with my other half as he is the mechanic and is doing my engine conversion from starlet to sera.

 

took us alot longer but we are down to a shell now :P and I got to do all the interior trims and wiring... then when we went to pull the engine out on the crane, my silly bf left all the heater hoses on and throttle cable lol

 

So I am getting my education :D

I married mine. She helps out on the '20 all the time. I am allowed to build a hot4k for it as long as she is involved in stripping the engine down and building it. LoL. I figure while she's stripping the engine she can also strip a few other things off.

Well thats reassuring... I was beginning to lose faith. Before I met this one I was pretty keen on the idea of herding them all into a desert and throwing rocks at them...
