So, been uming and arring about what to do with the yellow POS for the last 3-4 months. its been in shed out of sight. Had a few interested peeps come and look at it, best offer i got was $300 :(. So it ran out of rego 6weeks ago, and i have been slowly pieceing together a 4k for it. It consits of a 4k (durrr) Lightend flywheel i had put away ages ago to use one day. Excedy HD clutch Head shaved/cleaned/crack tested. New Head Gasket New Extractor Gasket Rebuilt Carby New points Dizzy Cap Leads Rotor button 4 speed Maybe other things i missed, but thats the majority of it :lolcry: Just only got it running like 15 mins ago. started first pop, and idled perfect. Havnt driven it yet, as i need to put a new oil filter, and fresh oil in. just wanted to make sure it started and ran first :yes: So plans now are tidy it up, run it, And possibly sell it off, or trade for something different. not sure yet. Will chuck some pics up later, but its just stocko 55 :lolcry:

ahwell, it all goes, got it in and nothing, realised previous owner by passed something with a relay, and one of the pins comes off. so put back on, pump accelerator twice. and it started first pop

ahhhk, so if i undo the nut and move wire so its not touching anything, it should be fine? And does it go solenoid/nut/washer/fat wire/washer/nut? or doesn't it really matter?

Just a quick one Just wondering what causes a starter motor to start spinning but not engaging the flywheel when i connect battery i have checked for loose wires, blown fuse blah blah, starter is wired up fine, just main wire held on with a 12mm nut, and one 1 pin plug. Only thing stopping car from starting atm, Dan

Had this about 8 weeks now. Is a nice Little car to drive. Is 4 speed, 1.6L. Lowered about 3" in rear, 2.5" in front. GTi Flares and Front Lip Recovered Dash 4" speakers in dash, 6x9's on rear shelf. Plans are 1.8L, rebuilt, balanced, ported and polish head. bigger cam. 5 speed box have all that in shed waiting for me to drop in... mainly CBF has kicked, the little 1.6L runs pretty well so see no need yet.

One last bump on my 55, $500 come take it.. will have stock leaves and no shocks in rear. Summer is just around the corner and whats the perfect way to kick things off? A nice big Saturday summer outing! So here it is. thought 2 cranks would be normal for a carby car? Ive had cars that start first crank, other take 5, even when warm. you sorta get used to it. My Golf is about 2 cranks, then other times it hates me and requires 6-7 cranks

Another member on here was getting i think just over 100rwkw from his 5k with turbo and fuel injection. I'm not sure how a 4k can pull upwards of 90rwkw, and still be drivable daily, it would be a pig too drive id imagine. Even a worked 5k with twins barely pulls 70rwkw's
