  2. The only information i pull up on code BR Is a 1979-80 colour TOYOTA AUSTRALIA Light Blue (metallic) PPG codes ATO.BR(31221) I would go the exact same colour as the car in a 2K for easy clean up. Rod
  3. Mine AE95 does it as well only from 2 to 3 not downshifting... If I'm am gentle its cool, but if i shift quick its ugly. I like idea of fixing the cones but i am either too lazy or still getting over pulling it apart in feb of this year. I'm running Nulon smooth shift gear oil in mine I'm going to check the oil levels to see if its right. Rod
  4. Jedz It looks like mine runs alot like yours i have done 8000kms in mine now it seems to be no issue. Thanks for your help & reply
  5. Wow i have not seen spray putty for years (i can almost taste the dust) Nice work are you a painter? Rod
  6. Hello I am trying to gather some information on the 3UZ 4.3lt V8 (out of a toyota crown) What i am after is a toyota engine manual.(Been looking seen a couple 2UZ manuals but no 3UZ. That has the rebuild specs and fault codes. I don't care if its in PDF or orginal, Free or $$$ any help would be great I thought maybe someone here may be able to point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance Rod
  7. This may or may not help. My diff lock was not working either i found the vaccum hose connected to the intake manifold.(to lower the idle to 800-1000rpm previous owner) My idle is a little higher than standard 1000-1200rpm warm. We found the switches were gone but no once it was plumbed right it works great. If photos help of how mine is wired no problem i can do that. But i found the brackets to very difficult to remove with the engine in the car.
  8. Thank you all. Flushed the heater core on the weekend, (orange rust again but it flows) I bled the system as well using the gutter to get on a angle. Done 500kms in it over the last 3 days No problems. Guess i am paranoid Thank you all for your help Rod
  9. Hello My heater is working and there are no hose leaks but apart from that i have not checked the heater system. Stupid question time. How do i check the heater core? I have never needed to do this any help would be great. Thanks Rod
  10. I think my AE95 is running hot (4AFE with a manual box) Its showing halfway on the temp gauge after 40 mins of use but when i feel the bottom hose it feels warm only. I have Replaced the thermostat with a toyota one which i placed into 85 deg water it opened and seemed fine. Removed the water pump, all good. (flushed the metal pipe that runs behind the engine) Removed the raditator fed water through it backwards.( a bit of orange rust) Removed the head replaced the head gasket, cleaned all the jackets out while there. It is not using water it, runs good. The cooling fans only come on for a brief moment. Still I don't think its right, that bottom hose seems too cool to me. Any other ideas how to check if its ok working correctly? Thank you in advance Rod
  11. Would a picture of my AE95 motor help?

  13. If anyone is serious about doing this or wants the look of a rat rod without rust eating their car away PPG has a new range of low gloss 2pak paint that will still protect your pride and joy. Yes i know there has always been low gloss 2K but its always been crap below 5 gloss units this stuff was made to reproduce OEM low gloss body finishes.. If anyone wants product codes or information i will dig up the copy of refinisher mag or call a rep just pm me.
  14. I just finished getting my AE95 running, and i would like to thank the rollaclub members who helped out with answers. The Gearbox was doing my head in but after 5 hours of shouting PLEASE GO HOME, THIS IS YOUR HOME (Happy Gilmore style) the engine and gearbox mated, I just needed to get it back on the road cheaply and by doing it myself i was able to save a lot of money. So thanks Hiro, TRD and others who listened to stupid questions by someone who does not know what he is doing. The Car, Engine and Brakes cost me $1500 for a car with aircon, Towbar and power steer and 4WD to get me to work I'm pretty happy. So Thanks Rod
  15. I got mine back together today the idea i had to make it easier was no good. Its hard getting the engine to mate with the gearbox took me 5hrs. Getting it back in was easier with the exhaust manifold off but you will need three people to guide it in. Ill start it up next weekend good luck with yours.
  16. Hi I'm a new member from the cranbourne area i have a AE112 and AE95. I am working on the AE95 now replacing the engine and getting it roadworthy. I bought it to pull apart and learn the mech side of things. Well its apart lets see if it goes back together. I am a painter so paint questions i can help with. I have already recieved help with questions on a few issues so thanks Rod
  17. Hi My Name is Rod I'm a new member and live in the south eastern burbs. I am a spraypainter who paints plastic for a company who supplies to Toyota. I have got two Corrolla AE95 AE112 (i think) I'm a decent painter, but pretty average mechanic but I'm learning.
  18. Thank you very much for the information it is awesome....... No really the amount of information about what the systems do is going to mean a big difference to me. You need help with paint give me a yell. Rod
  19. Nice Car i painted 111 body kits for that car in aztec gold there is actually two different mixes for that car to help with the harmony of that car. The parts were done through Hella australia i bought all the leftovers from the project. I thought it was a pretty tidy unit yours looks pretty good
  20. Mine Is going together now i have mounted the transfer case on the engine and made a trolley for the gearbox. I think if i was going to do it again i would leave the transfer case attached spilt the gearbox from there. I see how i go but using this method i was able to take the gearbox off by myself If it works out ill share maybe it might help. I gave myself two weekends to get the engine in, its taken 5 weeks (other problems) but i have learnt a lot will be alot easier next time.
  21. Lol i doing it now.. I'm having issues too if you figure out a easy way give me a yell.
  22. At the moment its cost, and the locally they are getting rare the big importer EKW has gone down and i need to get a car going. 20 valve would be great. Maybe next time.
  23. Hi I'm Rod and I'm new to the forum. I have little mech knowledge but can swing a spray gun so if i can help anyone there so be it. Anyway heres the background i got a ae95 wagon but the engine has done the bottom end. Its got 370000 on the clock but it is still a great car. I bought another 4AFE but it turns out its a 4AFHE jap import engine and has a few differences to the local engine. The main one is there is no PCV outlet from the block into the manifold. So heres where my questions begin. The PCV purges gasses from the crankcase into the intake manifold depending on throttle speed the more throttle the more the valve opens? There is another valve that looks simliar to the PCV is this the EGR? If so what is a EGR? Is there a way to bypass the PCV system so i can use this engine? If this isnt the right place for this sorry not trying to piss anyone one off just needing help. Thanks in advance Rod
