  1. keen to keep her as is for a year or two and then perhaps upgrade the gearbox to a 'w' series and then the diff to a big borg warner, and get another 100kw motor to rebuild with some forged pistons. may respray it the factory colour too - it keeps getting little dents here and there (i haven't done one single dent, they just appear!) of course i may get over it in a year or two and sell the thing if i got a good offer, being all engineered and such. its a shame no one seems to buy these things once they are modified. i'm keen to swap the saab chasers too, for some 13 or 14 inch mags of the superlite variety.
  2. ^^^ hell no, i'm keen to compare setups!
  3. i get 12l/100km in my hilux, and thats keeping it under 3k rpm. but thats lugging all my tools (and usually a few odd car parts) around. i haven't calculated the ke20's fuel economy since the turbo has been put on, although i reckon its a better tune than before so it will probably be better on fuel on average.
  4. you've even made those carbs look factory! keen to see some video of this.
  5. nice colour too!
  6. the one at chatswood has closed too. nah, not st. ives. but i've had to go through that way quite a bit this last week!
  7. i'll see you at the truck stop, 10:30, green ke20, Jono
  8. my crank pulley was ok, but the key had chewed out the harmonic balancer so much that the key had slipped out of the keyway causing the crank pulley to slip on the crank.
  9. why not get the car running first? and worry about it looking perfect later?
  10. nooooooooooooooooo, this was going to be soo good!
  11. so those twin servos on the motorway are just after the reserviour road exit/entrance right? and you said about 10:30 - 11am?
  12. i wish i had a video camera!
  13. not sure, i haven't transfered the ECU map to my laptop yet to have a look. so i have no idea how much they've moved the timing. i gave it a decent hit today as the streets dried out abit, goes blooooody hard. still haven't driven it with the knob turned onto 10psi yet, only 7psi.
  14. are you still working on the panel van?
  15. apparently those motors have the same problem as 4ages, the key in the crank busts out the harmonic balancer and throws the timing out. it happened to my motor and fuel was on the ground, hard to start etc
  16. top shelf! good to see a fire extinguisher too (i reckon everyone should be made to have one)
  17. cheers for the comments everyone. still feels really torqey off boost - one advantage of keeping the high compression ( and a lightweight car) , the downside is i can't really boost it anymore without lower compression. so i'm not going to make anymore power with this motor as it is. I'm still waiting for the rain to stop before i can really test her out. 78 7krolla: the blue ke20 got chopped in half (i didn't have enough room to keep her intact), and has slowly been butchered for parts for people. i even chopped a chassis rail out of it for a guy in McKay but he never rang back to arrange postage :lmao: . it still has quarter panels, roof, struts, crossmember
  18. i'd guess its a 3t.
  19. have a read on toymods, i think a lot of people have done it and said its not a noticeable difference and other people reckon its worth it. question is; if it makes good power why did toyota bother redesigning the cams for the later car?
  20. do you want to sell me the rear swaybar for the ke55 (assuming its a BW diff) with all its mounting brackets?
  21. yeah, but i wouldn't normally drive it when its wet. its all engineered with the turbo'd 4age now and i'm 100% sure that the lack of heater will ever be noticed where i get my pink slips
  22. 130rwkw and its pouring with rain when i picked it up today (i'm also soaked and there is no heater/demister in the car...heaps of fun driving it home...)
  23. you putting the rotary in the wagon now instead of the panelvan?
  24. my mate has a spare EFI 2.6 motor if you want it.
  25. Jono

    Des' Te72.

thank goodness, i was wondering why you were throwing so much money at an 80s fwd corolla!
