  1. yep, the shifter hole needs to be cut. gearbox crossmember moved and redrilled. watch the sump hitting the swaybar when you make your mounts. you need a hydraulic clutch setup. you need bigger brakes all round. you need a tailshaft made up to fit t50 to whatever diff you run. get a brake booster. what 1.6 is in there now? is it worthwhile doing? it goes good but not insane, if i did mine again i would definately look at finding a 4agze and putting a turbo on it.
  2. :) hopefully not at that stage! have been looking at rotary front cuts though!
  3. thanks, i will check that. it sounds like a ticking/rattling/worn bearing coming more from the rear of the head.
  4. hi, my motor suddenly developed a noise. It seems to be coming from the valve gear. it starts to rattle around 3500rpm. Could it be the valves need clearance checked? Any ideas?? last time it happened I topped up the oil and it went away but not this time. cheers, Jon
  5. here comes death!
  6. yeah, couldn't agree more, the Sportivo name just sounds weak: Sport Evo as in e30 M3 or 190e cosworth sounded cool but just doesn't suit toyotas with its gay spelling. which is sad because the latest sportivo would be a good car with its megapotent 1.8, but its badges just don't sell it. Levin was heaps better. Off topic, what other cars used race track names? I can think of the Mazda Rx7 bathurst and maybe the Skyline N1 but what others are there?
  7. my 4age has 4,2,1 extractors to a 2.5" past a r33 turbo cat, then through 2 mufflers. sounds a bit too loud but not tinny at all, just angry at high revs.
  8. v.nice!

    7k

7k might be easier but its easier to find replacement 4age bits and pieces.
  10. no.
  11. yeah, pretty sure mine exist. at least i hope its more than the exhaust that is holding up my motor! i'm getting new ones made in the next few weeks though as mine sit the motor a little high at the front.
  12. i have a stock 4age 100kw distributor if you need one.
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Corona pretty sure its a corona. there is a picture of it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Caldina or one of these, since they came out awd.
  14. what time does this kick off?
  15. are the injectors the correct impedance for the megasquirt? what do the spark plugs look like upon inspection?
  16. it may take them a few hours or half a day to do that job so it is not really that much $$.

    The Kesev!

i flared the ends of one of the brake lines on my diff (under supervision from my mechanic mate) and it didn't seem that hard. fudged the first one but then it was easy enough.
  18. i was thinking, WTF, straight away! i thought you had set it up to maybe try and pass a defect or something crazy.

    The Kesev!

i haven't had any problems with mine (yet, lol) with the heat wrap on the exhaust pipe. i will go for a thrash and get a temp. reading on the slave/line with my FLUKE.
  20. i can't work out the setup there. how come there is a pod filter straight onto the inlet manifold and an airbox(?) feeding the impeller side of the turbo?

    The Kesev!

here is my setup. it has a right angle hose and then up and across the firewall.
  22. let them fully diagnose the problem first before you throw $1500+ on an aftermarket computer. . big difference between them thinking it was a faulty distributor to a $15k computer (i can't really believe it would cost that much, my mate works at BMW and the stock bimmer computers are nowhere near that price)
  23. can you take a picture of the manifold with measurements photoshoped in?
