  1. also very true. i seen this done in a celica, not as complicated, but works well. redline even make manifolds for 4age's to take twin webers etc.
  2. you can inter change the heads, eg. put a 4age head onto a 4ac block, as the blocks are the same. just the internals on a 4age are stronger
  3. a 4ac hasent got the grunt of a 4age. the difference is 4age is twin cam(the proper style) and obviously efi. 4ac is just sohc. look for them in ae71 model corollas (the last rear wheel drive model after yours) or even drop a fwd one from a ae82 or something in it. these engines have more power over the k's and are also very easy to get power. fit a 32/36 weber, extractors, 2 inch exhaust, give it a cam regrind, while your at it shave the head and port/polish. also try to get the electronic dizzy model. i did most of this to the 4ac in my ae71 wagon and it went f^&kin hard. you will still need to change cross members etc as it is still a "A" family engine. hope that helped :)
  4. shit! glad everything worked out for ya
  5. dropped the return spring?
  6. mumblezzz: yes i forgot about that ruts: you would still probably have to drop the crossmembers i would assume, but most front drivers are different from one another. i change a clutch in a charade a while back and had to remove the whole engine. but i swapped a gearbox in a pulsar by just taking off the strut, cv, wishbone etc, and it was much easier.
  7. irokin: will do :) simon: will do :D teddy: suspension is sold but i will bring da windows :)
  8. may i ask why? mine made changes in the wagon a pleasure (not that kind!)
  9. is that why it's not working? if so i can get another couple you can try. i can give them to someone at the cruise and they can pass them onto you if you want?
  10. it's a "short shifter" :) and i am not in a real hurry to piss it off.
  11. well if you want one i have one, already with a short shifter
  12. what about just a 4a 5 speed. they are ment to be bolted upto the a motor. but would it withstand the power?
  13. sweet cheers fook. grim: yeah mine don't have a choke either. but it doesn't really affect it much except sub 0 degree mornings, other than that, yay! :)
  14. it was leaking out of underneath the adapter plate. i ahd to weld the plates insides and then make a bigger gasket.
  15. hooorrrrraaaaaayyyyy. i put the yella terra in the shop to see what tha f?>k is going on with the weber and they told me i had a huuuuuge vaccuum leak. so i brought it home and pulled it all down and inspected it and found the problem. i made some new gaskets and whacked it back together and problem was solved. reset the timing and tuned the mixtures and bon appetite. now it goes hard. so yes i now agree that webers rock! you just need to make sure you have vaccuum, hmmm. so now that it's all working right, next on the list is: a 5 speed, extractors, a new 2 1/4 exhaust thicker ignition leads and a respray. that ortoo keep the brother happy. :) :) :D :D
  16. weekends are gewd!
  17. it is very easy to do, even if the car did'nt even have aircon as an option. i would be very willing to help as i have done this conversion before, depending on when it is. not exactly. degassing = easy. regassing = aircon specialist. you can still get the old system gas. just costs a bit more :)
  18. goodluck with the gear box like most of the fellas have said it will be alignment. i have never had that much trouble doing it. and if you ever do need a clutch alignment tool, just cut a input shaft of one of the f@$ked boxes :) maybe the brake drums do need machining. or yet more adjustment?!? :) it has to be something simple
  19. i know of one with a ae82 stuck to it! and i know i'm a bit late but yeah the 20v goes f#@kin hard as. they rock. not that i don't like the k's. they are also a sweet motor
  20. god that brought back memories. i miss my wagon sob sob sob sob sob sob
  21. andrew andrew andrew, thank god for that!
  22. yes gasket paper will do fine. and the time might be ok. i have to work at 5:30 so we will have to get stuck into it. pm the address to me please
  23. bahahahaha classic!
  24. fook: the diff is ready to drop in. but you just need to get a rear seal for the cover plate. i have the oil for it. do you know where we are swapping it yet?
