  1. you best bet is finding a set that is built for a the ae9X chassis rather than trying to adapt a set from another car. i know of a few companies have built unit for the ae9x. if you have a look on Twincam.org, i think you may actually find a set currently for sale

video has been around for ages guess you have been in hiding :)
  3. timing belt is the same across the 16v's ge/gze but a kit for an ae82 twincam will be fine :)
  4. wish i could take credit for it, but no it wasnt mine either. its actually owned by another member on twincam
  5. anyways i finally received a parcel this morning in the post in form of a set clear lenses. i will post a picture up in the next few days. then the final exterior change will be in the form of a set of FXGT inspired mirrors from the South African Toyota Tazz (basically a corolla)
  6. HKS Extractors << there a set on ebay for the ae101/111
  7. i'll assume you not going to try to setup a low boost setup on the standard engine either? i go with the witzl's comment on getting the gze pistons flycut
  8. +1
  9. my car was completely stock mechanically when i bought it. so it is probably best to get a heat shield off of another 4age, and give it a good clean up and a paint it in heat proof paint. There is a slight possibility to get a new one from toyota, but i would try to find a 2nd hand one first.
  10. there isnt it actually, it just that dial up sucks ass and i still remember walking away from the computer and coming back a couple of hours later and the download still not being finished and the being knocked off and having to redial roughly every 4 hours :) so yeah i kinda feel for those who are stuck with it  anyways I'm getting way OT here. i will know closer to the date if I'm able to go, so atm I'm a maybe
  11. atleast now you don't have to guess when to fill up while cruising
  12. it has worked for me since the flyer was posted last night, but then again I'm on a dsl connection and not dial up (not that there anything wrong with that )
  13. use VHT engine enamel comes in wrinkle, and gloss this is how mine turned out with a straight gloss black
  14. a little on the late on the save dude
  15. yeah toyota can be all over the place with its pricing, so its pot luck when buying parts sometimes  Edit: here is the part no. 90210‑06008 washer/seal
  16. those little washers shouldn't be to expensive to buy, the most expensive would be the replacement camcover gaskets themselves, and you local Toyota dealer should have them on the shelf and just to give you and idea i paid $1.45 per washer, so it ended up being $11.60 for all 8  and being that your from england, it will depend, just give a few toyota dealers a ring and get a price.
  17. yeah you remove them and replace them with new ones from toyota
  18. what toyrolla said above  plus i also remove the headlight housing from the car as well, and if i remember correctly is 2 nuts, a bolt and 2 screws
  19. i had this trouble with my cam covers as well. after removing the nuts you should also remove the rubber gaskets that are under nuts, this is what was holding my cam covers in place
  20. headlight, taillight, blinker? helps if people know which light as well.
  21. pity bout the stuff going wrong on the car, looking nice though :sob: if my car(s) need to go to a mechanics it goes to someone i know who did there apprenticeship when carbys were mainstream and who is really switched on :jamie:
  22. was never an sx to begin with, it was a CS hatch :sob: and its not mine either :jamie:
  23. all ae9x were twincam
  24. Happy birthday raven :y: :sob: :sob:
