as a wise man once said "a 20v is worth the effort over a 16v" but I'm pretty sure he was referring to swapping the 16v for a 20v in an sx/gti 930LLO didnt you just freshen up the 4age you put in, if so i personally would stick with that engine as you done 99% of the work already. gearbox isnt really hard to do, and now you have the choice of gearboxes C52 - stock/early 20v st C56 - from both 20st/bt C160 - 20v bt only in the BZ-R(someone correct me here if I'm wrong)

+1 i seem to remember a quote somewhere along the lines of "if it has oil pressure it can be turbocharged" and i can't remember where i heard it or who said it :P
-
the guys just refreshed a 4age smallport and put it into he ae9x sedan, now it seems the head is dodgy(his words) and he was wondering if the 20 st head would bolt on to a smallport block. yes it will bolt on fine(albeit smallport has an external oil drain in the head which the 20v st doesnt or vice versa), there is the possibility of the pistons hitting a valve in the head, if you compare the 16v/20v piston you can see they are both fly cut differently, so there must be a reason why toyota redesigned the 20v pistons rather than reusing the 16v pistons

please post pictures of your ride(s) in a rides and project thread not in here :y: it is quite an annoying habit that a few members have or have picked up :) other than that good luck and lets hope it not as far gone as it looks to be

looking at his profile it looks as if the OP has a series 1 seca. so i agree with the witzl's on the series 2 ae92 sx/gti brake upgrade, i did it on of my last corolla, and current s2 seca(standard larger front brakes) and i can't fault either setup, I'm looking at doing the ae101 rear brake upgrade(in the near future) same my seca is pretty much the same as the witzl's twinky, only minus the swarbar(s) so i still get the slight understeer when pushing the car, but still a fun daily that can still handle corners with some comfort :y:
-
pedders, whiteline, kmac are a few for swaybars i do believe toda have a fairly light flywheel for the 4age brakes will depend on if you want a simple factory upgrade or a aftermarket/custom setup have a read of the link below and it will enlighten you to some of the brake upgrades that use factory parts from other corollas http://www.twincam.info/index.php?showtopic=1063

doctors yes, nurses no they are underpaid :y:. underpaid
-
now many corolla owners use a similar setup which consist of KYB struts and king/lovell/or choice of springs. by stabiliser? if you mean a rear swaybar you can't go past whiteline, as they have fixed and adjustable available for the ae9x series and while your at it, i will also suggest checking and/or changing you suspension bushes as they are more than likely stuffed if the car is all original

Friday 5th Hill Run. After Aph 8 30pm At Wok In A Box Woodcroft.
MYSTIK replied to greenmac80's topic in The Event Archive
this is the 4th or 5th friday this has been arranged for, so lack of time isnt the issue here, its more a case of inclement weather and cars needing or getting work done. :y: -
i agree on that, but then again i probably would have gone with a toyota varient with 2 more cylinders, 1uzfe FTW :y:

hmm we now this seems to be the third thread made about these pm's :y: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=30384 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=30383

this is the wrong section for asking technical questions. but i will help point you in the right direction. 4age will be a striaght bolt up, in the ae86, especially if you are using a 4age already setup in rwd configuration and the fuel and wiring setup to suit. if not then the biggest headaches will be the fuel system and wiring.

Now after having a few people as of late asking where to buy parts or asking for recommendation for workshops to get work done, and a couple of suggestions from SA members. So i figured its time to have our own Recommendations List. Now i would like this to remain and open thread, but there's one catch with this though, first person who posts a disagreement or badmouths a business will equal an immediate thread closure, and thread cleaning/deletion. I know this sounds harsh but I'm trying to absolve Irokin and rollaclub from having an legal backlash. or the other way is to have closed thread and have people send a pm with their recommendations to either myself(MYSTIK) or aidaniel so we can update the list. oh dear, i think you have bought yourself a world of trouble with that ke20. there is actually a thread and some post about it in the spotted section. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=29123 << thread about it

might have been a better than saying that you want bigger than a 4age/4agze in the first place :) if you ask nicely I'm sure someone that has a 4age, and lives close "might" take you for a spin and show you that they arent small and weak :)

ummm how about a no. bianca i clean it up a bit later on tonight, and i think it will be mostly the last few pages that need to be cleaned if not completely removed :) i look into it a bit more closely after i wake up a bit more nightshift FTL :y: Edit: did a bit of reading, and some cleaning. anymore that you think needs to be cleaned let me know :)
