Yeah +1 on the old hilltop hoods stuff. Still like a few of the newer ones though. Same with bliss n eso though i like their old songs a lot better but i don't mind the new ones just a bit too mainstream kind of style for me. Thundamentals, Pegz, Reason and Downsyde are topping my lists at the moment though :)

Use the manual choke from inside the car man. When i put my 32/36 i got rid of all the vacuum hoses and pollution gear except the one that comes off the dizzy. So that, and the fuel line is all thats connected to the carby. After that i plumbed the breather off the tappet cover and the line that comes off the charcoal cannister into the air filter and it was perfect :)

Well i can tell you that other than seating you lower, t18 front seats are not worth upgrading to like some people say. The base of the rear seat on a t18 however is a nice upgrade from the ke70 one. Its molded, lower, comfy and fits right in. Anyone who has sat in the back of a ke70 would know how bad the stock one is

Fixed  Wound out the mixture screw a half turn, started it up and it ran fine. Wound it back in while it was running and it ran fine too..? Runs better wound out a bit though. Well I'm not sure how it happened, or how it was fixed because i didnt touch the mixture screw before it went wrong. anyway its fixed now and the carby is looking brand new haha Cheers Ben

I'm about to go pull it off again but il give that a go before i do cheers man

Yeah its fine cruising in gear. There may be a slight jumpyness in the lower revs though. Alright finally finished the gasket and got it in. Same idling problem still. Il clean all the jets and everything later this afternoon again
-
Yeah jets are fine, it was running spot on before dad drove it to work :hmm: I would say the idle jet has grit or something in it but i've spent a fair while cleaning it. Il try and make up a new gasket for in the weber itself tomorrow but its a very complex shape.. I'm a little low on coin at the moment too so I'm trying to avoid the cost of a new gasket thats why i make them up haha Cheers Ben

I don't think the float is adjustable? doesnt look to be anyway. Doesnt play up at all under load it is fine. Yeah just at idle with the clutch in or neutral. Ok so i feel a little stupid. When putting the carby back on, i bolted up the accelerator cable unit slightly wrong. This left the butterfly valve in the secondary throat full open at all times  So i fixed that minor error up, but it still drops revs all the time and will stall if not constantly under acceleration. I had a look down the first throat while it was running and the fuel isnt being sprayed to mix with the air well. Its sort of dribbling and spluttering out of the jet instead?

Well i glued up the weber adapter plate at the top and bottom and made new gaskets for it however there is a complex gasket in the weber itself which looks like it has seen better days so il check that out and have a look around the manifold itself tomorrow cheers man.

Ok so dad drove the ke70 to work on monday. As soon as he got it home it stalled itself when idleing. After starting it back up again it idled for a few seconds, then the revs dropped and it almost stalled but then they rise to the normal idle again and it keeps suddenly dropping revs untill it finally stalls itself. I thought there must be some dirt or grit in the idle jet. It was fine in the higher revs and there were no problems when you drive it but as soon as you stop at traffic lights your constantly revving it so it wont stall. I took the carb off yesterday, cleaned it inside and out and cleaned the primary and secondary idle jet. I also took the top off and cleaned out the primary and secondary main jets and put them back in. It did the same funny idleing thing when i bolted it back up so today i did the exact same thing but used proper carby cleaner. I also ran the carby cleaner through the fuel lines and channels. Got the carby back on and bolted up just an hour ago. After it finally started it revved up to 4000rpm+ so i quickly shut it off. After a bit i tried again and it went to 4000rpm and after about 10 seconds the revs dropped and almost stalled then revved right up again and then dropped right down almost stalling again and it kept doing this till i turned it off. It sounds like it going to keep doing this everytime i turn it on so there is no way it is driveable. What is wrong with it? Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

Stuff the Ke bumpers the plastic looks shit compared to chrome ke30 ones are good but i think the Xt130 front bumpers look modern Just unbolt the plastic end caps and cut an inch or so off each side an put them back on. Drill four new holes for mounting an your done. Picked mine up for $35

Picked up a t18 for some parts for the ksev I'm taking the diff, tailshaft, gearbox, motor and the seats but the rest I'm trying to sell off so if theres anything you after just PM me. The front bumper is a bit bent but the back is straight. Chrome ones too :) Tail lights will fit on a ke70 with a couple of holes drilled and give it a different look. More like the dx corolla. Pics of it can be found in the 'Parts Car Appreciation Thread' I'm in Hobart too. Cheers Ben

Well parts cars, First one was and ae71. Cost me $100 Mainly got it for the tacho dash, pedal box, sprinter diff, koni adjustables, sr20 ready x member and a few other goodies. Got rid of that a while ago but today i picked up my parts t18  Body has seen better days, they seem to rust a lot better then your average Ke. Came with a nice looking set of wheels too at 14 x 7JJ Hopefully transplanting the diff, tailshaft, box, 3t into the ksev but anyway here it is —>

Can someone tell me what these wheels are? They came on my new T18 parts car  They are made by Cheviot but I'm not sure on the model :hmm: 14 x 7JJ Cheers Ben

^ yeah plus one on that. And people that actually believe what today tonight and a current affair are saying! They make up so much shit. I think that they are the ones starting all these health and safety rumours that you say. Personally i think people need to stop worrying so much about safety. I wouldnt have been able to grow up without taking any risks it what keeps life interesting. Theres too many safety precautions and laws that enforce them for the kids growing up today Like you said, its the bubble wrap generation

Can Somebody Please Tell Me How Rust Converter Works!!
BlueKsev replied to Fabz's topic in Automotive Discussion
From memory the 3m one says to leave the rust converter on I'm pretty sure. It will say on the bottle anyway but it worked fine for me. Yeah you just need to spend a bit of time trying to scrape as much rust off before you put it on and its always worked fine for me -
Anyone who hasnt got the new Pegz album needs to definately get it. Still kept the style of his old music i love it. I think the best of the Aussie hip hop scene would have to be Pegz, Thundamentals, Illy and Reason Thundamentals should be releasing a new album soon too :)

Yeah I don't have much experience with a welder and I'm doing this on a tight budget. I can make up a spacer easy here at home so the ae92 shockies should be fine. I'm not after too low just sort of even with the guard type of thing. Not too worried about the inserts i just want them to be reasonably short, I'm more worried about spring rates and camber but i can sort that out myself.
-
Tokico HTSs are the shortest I can find in a quick look. 476mm extended but they cost heappsss. Ae92 shocks look the go at the moment so I will need to buy or make up a spacer for the top of the strut tube? Unless the sw20’s are shorter? The ae92s are 500mm extended. Cheers
-
Oh so are the cartridges too long or too short to go straight in to the 86 strut? Those spacers look to hold the cartridge down in the strut tube. And thanks for the measurements rianwest
-
Yeah KYBs might be sounding good. Are the excel g's shorter stroke than the standard sw20's? And yes Sam_Q but I'm still after more than 60mm but if there are no other options, il be going with whatever i can get.
-
I have had a quick look around but havent really found anything so.. Does anyone know of a short stroke insert out of another car that will fit the 86 and xt130 strut? I know the st185 and sw20 are shorter but i need short short. Like short enough to keep cut springs captive with the tire slightly tucking the guard on 13" wheels. And before someone says it, coilovers arent an option. Cheers

http://tassiefoursandrotaries.webs.com/ Found this website here. It started up yesterday. It could turn out really good with some support from people here as Tassie doesnt have many dedicated car websites.
