Yeah i guess well down here in Tassie there are only a couple ke70's with chrome bumpers its not as common, not sure what its like where you are though. Yeah i do like the 86 bumpers on them though you could try maybe even getting one of the lips that you put on the stock 86 bars too
-
Yeah but depends what look your going for. A set of longchamps with the ae8* bumpers and maybe even bolt on flares would go down sweet but chrome bumpers and some old school deep dish wheels > :y: :y: :y:
-
Well i'm running non-tapered wheel nuts with a rim with a big hole in the centre that doesnt fit clean. As for snapping studs because it doesnt fit flush on the hub goes i'll believe it when it happens. Maybe it is safer with this hub-centric idea but i know plenty of standard cars without it.
-
Meh its what studs are for :) You have the studs that taper in at the bottom like this? - \____/ That is what centres the wheel properly. They will jam in the little holes in the rim and locate the wheel where it should be Standard ke steelies have a bit of rattle/play without the studs on its fine man

Na i would avoid white it has been done too many times... Although it does look good... With red and black pinstriping.. Yeah some of those dark metallic colours look really good. You want something different though too. Green hasn't been done much. I'm thinking a colour like this would go sweeeet-

^Oh is that this ke70? I love the crime stoppers sticker on the back window when the cops put it on the truck hahahah Its a mad ke70 Edit: But it should be done on a track, not in public.
-
I'm jealous I wish I could see them too haha but no-one ever comes down to Tassie :(
-

I tell people I'm just 'cleaning' my Ksev when I'm fixing it so they don't know how dodgy it really is.
-
I was about to say at least they have kept it on VW Golf's and other hatchbacks but no. A quick search found this ksev belonging to a member of boostcruising Edit: The picture doesn't work so just imagine a ke70 with sticker bombed guards. Cheers :y:

Yeah doesnt look too bad maybe just get some white sticky tape and just see how it looks anyway :) I wouldnt do them too thick either
-
I had to do this man :) Car looks awesome its something different but i think it could also pull off whitewalls and look real good but anyway what do you think Cheers Ben
-
Yeah alright well i'll take it out with the pipe blocked, and then put it back on again and unless there's a noticeable difference i'll just get rid of it Cheers

Oh ok so it sounds like i should be keeping the little spark control setup? Depends though, so its definately changing the timing for power and not emissions? And yes i've had a good read of your thread before altezzaclub its good because its mostly stuff you can do yourself on a low budget Yeah i chucked all the emissions control stuff when i got my weber carby. Interesting thing though, i didn't block off the valve that opens the exhaust gas recirculation system sending exhaust into the carby, it already had a ball bearing in one end, and it was only owned by a granny who is the single owner too (until i got my hands on it) so i think it may have been blocked from the factory?
-
Ah alright thanks. Yeah mines an '83 as well. So it would be alright to remove it you think? I'm just in the process of tidying the engine bay up an getting it lookin' schmick :) Actually while i've got this topic, what have other people done with the Exhaust gas recirculation system? You'll see its a funny canister type thing that has a pipe connecting the exhaust and the intake to let exhaust in. I've already blocked it to stop it working but now i want to get rid of the setup altogether but then il have a hole in the exhaust and the intake Anyone else done this? Is yours still working in your ke70 altezzacub? Cheers

Hey guys just wondering if you could tell me what this thing is in the ksev and what it does. Well, the hose that comes off the carby and goes to the distributer to do the timing i understand it, but just near the dizzy is a little T join and it has a hose that comes off and it goes to some filter-looking thing and electrical cables. I'm pretty sure its called the spark control system. Iv had it disconnected and the car runs fine without it but i still want to know what it is There's a picture attached for all the people i have confused. Cheers Ben

Looks nice as man i'm just wondering where did you get the LED bulbs for the park lights? Need the same for mine, as i too have the HID's but at 10,000K and it looks shocking with yellow parkers Cheers Ben

The seam welds on the fuel filler has to be the most common spot. Havent found a ke70 without rust under the filler cap as of today that hasnt already been fixed. If it doesnt have rust there its just lurking underneath the paint waiting haha Also the spot welds underneath the boot seal/ rubber usually get rust. My Ke is clean other then that though I'm lucky :)

The lower control arm just has a hole about halfway along that the link pin goes into and bolts up to. You just need to get a swaybar and the link pins. You can make the link pins yourself with two long high tensile bolts and a few nuts and washers and the bushes pretty easy too its what i have in the back of mine

You mean just a standard type ke70 door mirror for the passanger door? It was optional when they sold the ke70's and mine has one. I have a spare pair as well too? Edit: don't have a spare pair. I forgot i sold the doors they were on haha. Should be able to pick up a left hand side mirror pretty easy though. Also t18's have the same mirrors and I'm pretty sure they all had the passenger side one.
-
Supply the paint - Cost me around $400 with spare leftover, sand it all up prep'd for painting, find a good shed or something without dust and that has good wind cover, get the heaters cranking and then find a friend or just someone with a bit of painting skill and mask it up for them and get them in to spray it one day

I don't know I'm pretty sure it has been done. A mate of mine was thinking of doing it to his and he said he knew someone who just cut the metal surround out of the 31 and welded into the Ke. Never seen it about though. And the lights may look too big for the ke70 as the 31 is a fair bit wider but give it a go man just for something different :)

http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/36308-another-22re-into-ke70/ Theres a few others in the engine conversion threads too but this ones pretty good

Yeah xt130 model corona. They are around 1983 sort of. The ke70 and xt130 lower control arms don't look much different but heres a link anyway - http://www.rollaclub.com/board/uploads/monthly_05_2008/post-2819-1210146462_thumb.jpg The camber from Corona lower control arms is small enough its only just noticeable from the outside. If your after more camber, say if you use the Ke for track use then theres a certain model mitsubishi sigma lower control arm for that. Gives probably too much for road use though

Looks mad man. Should have a think about tinting the brake lights too. Sticking window tint on them is a good way it makes them heaps shiny and it peels straight off if you want to :)
