  1. Okay, where did this term 'keto' come from?? Seen it around forever, what, did someone confuse the '7' in ke70 for a 't' at one point and that just caught on or is it some tofu drift term?
  2. well its the black bonnet spray job innit
  3. Looks tuff! Yeah need more pics  and come on, stop trying to hide the slantyness haha show us the front :y:
  4. ^ camber? IMO I'd just rebuild the rack you have/ find a better condition one, go some of those polyurethane rack bushes off ajps and get a lock spacer
  5. The metal sleeve part that the rubber bushes sit inside at the crossmember end. Ke70 ones not fit?? i thought, since the xt130's fit a ke70, the sleeve may be the same?
  6. Haha i saw that article too whilst wasting time in the shops! First glance and i thought it was a ke70 too and i was thinking oh no they didn't, but i can live with them putting a t18 in that article as i have never properly driven one :) but still, i wouldnt have thought they would be a bad car...
  7. Ahhhhaha had the exact same problem with my first ever ke70!!! Except, i did manage to get to those nuts, and was trying to undo them for ages, i even borrowed a rattle gun to try it. Anyway, long story short, those nuts are welded on to the shell of the car, and the bolts come through from the boot, they are hidden under the black plastic cups just in front of the back of the brake lights. Hope that saved you the pain and troubles i had with it hahaha
  8. Have a read through this, it has a bit of useful information, but IMO it would be quite difficult to have it properly engineered for use on the road.... maybe even impossible due to some of the engine conversion laws. Make a sweet track car but
  9. Yeah okay, yeah i might go have a talk with someone this week about it and see what i can do, Also if i don't need a full roadworthy for my 4a-c conversion i might be able to get that modplated after i put emissions gear etc back on and then the other motor will be free to use
  10. Yeah, down here after a vehicle has been unregistered for 3 months or more, it requires a full roadworthy inspection. And yes, thats not a bad idea, i just hope they don't say something like, "well if the motors out of it we may as well take the rego off it as you will need an inspection for a new one anyway" also do you know if it is the garage/ workshop that does the paperwork and puts the engine number down in the system, or would they have to report it all to the people that run the car registering system - can't think of the name of them at the moment haha, the Tasmanian governments department of transport or something like that. Because i'm sure the people at the workshop will be a lot more easy and understanding on me then the ones in the offices doing the paperwork.
  11. Hey i've picked up a new ke70, want to get it registered again and it needs a motor and gearbox I have my old 4k and 4 speed out of my ke70 sitting around in running condition. My problem is, it is the motor that my old ke70 is ment to have in it (i have converted to 4a) so it is ment to be in use in a registered car. I'm wondering if they will pick that up if i put it in the new ke70 and take it through a roadworthy?? They would check the engine numbers i would think, but would they have to cancel one of the rego's because the motor is ment to be in both cars?? I'm in tasmania too but i would think this would be the same in all states. Cheers
  12. WMMH - Having twins  However, ones quadlight, slammed, ghetto and 4a powered, ones original, tidy, 4x4 height and not powered. Swapped some struts for the new one too!!! Got to be happy with that. Putting my old 4k and converting to manual, tidying up then selling!!
  13. Was there a headwind haha? Yeah i ditched my 4k as quick as i could, even though it was a very low K's granny spec manual too...
  14. They are a very slow motor, but that said, you should have no troubles getting it to 100 on the flat... Somethings wrong i'd say
  15. WGMG - The rear wheel drive Corolla addiction I don't have a job, it seems like education and corolla's are full time at the moment. Yet, either tomorrow or maybe even this afternoon i'm going to pick up my... hmm... sixth *E7* Corolla. I've got my one good rego'd blue ke70 with 4ac and many goodies, but i also have an ae71 with a 4K, owned 2 other ae71's for parts, and a t18. Just got rid of the t18 on monday, bare shell nothing left. Bought it complete. Stoked with the available space it created, might have finally found a parking space for the blue ke70, and i've made up a stand for the 3t-c out of the t18 which i'm building that i can fit in there too. but anyway another ke70 has come up, no motor or box so il have to squeeze it in around here somewhere.. I'm going to cop it for this one too, none of my friends or relatives appreciate a quality corolla. But for the price and condition of this new one you can't go wrong...... :hmm:
  16. "...this is my second car. My first was a SW20 mr2, but i sold it and got this..." Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of KE70 / AE71's, but WHAAAAAAA??? M int looking KE though
  17. That thing in the back ground of the second picture off to the right.... ooooooh i want a closer look! The rust on those ke10's is looking a little too far developed too :glare:
  18. Hmmm the wheels on the new 86 look like they were bought at a cheap tire store for $59.99
  19. Just think of the rust as more weight reduction  So what motor are you looking at to put in?? It all depends on how much you want to spend on it i guess
  20. Put the gearbox crossmember in back to front? That or you got the wrong mounts id say..
  21. For the gearbox's i've done, the filler is not at the top of the gearbox, its in the right spot so you just fill it until oil starts coming out the hole! But otherwise, google knows alll abut ae82's
  22. I would do i the other way around haha, i like the front on the hatch!
  23. ^ and 'no regrets' too, i for one regret a shit load of stuff i've done, i don't sit around thinking about it though, if i can't change it why would i.
  24. Those black ones that stick up tall that everyone uses looks ridiculous i reckon, i would stay away from them if i was you.... I don't particularly like fender mirrors in general though. Some rectangular and streamlined ones that son't stick up too high is what you want
