Had what looks like the exact same HID kit in my ke before i went quad lights, used to always cut out when driving at night!! Scared the shit out of me everytime, but it would come back on a second or two after luckily
-
Yeah it comes up in all my posts, i edit it out and then it will appear again somewhere else and pretty sure its in a few of my PM's too... Not sure if its rollaclub or my computer And yeah it could have, just needs to be somehow machined out a bit, that or you could find a slightly larger gland nut to fit it so it didnt need machining :)
-
Thought i'd share this, nicely done, different to your average *E7* :) Thought it was one of those old VW Golf's with quad lights for a bit
-
"just cut the strut tube shorter and tap a new thread into the top of the strut for a gland nut" I was going to do that for mine, looked into getting the thread taps on the internet and everything, but another look at the strut showed the top of it where it is threaded has been machined out to a slightly larger size, and then had the thread cut. So there is no potential rubbing of the thread onto the shock itself And by then it was going to be far too much work to machine the inside of the strut :/ WebRep currentVote noRating noWeight Edit: ^^ What is this thing that keeps coming up in my posts???

Ae71 To T18/te72 Lift Back Front End Conversion
BlueKsev replied to crustydemons666's topic in Automotive Discussion
Because if he's using the rack and pinion the steering column will stick further inward of the car then the t18s steering box. Sooo you would use the matching pedal box to get the right alignment yeah? You could make it work with the t18 one though i guess, then sell the ae71 pedal box for a couple grand -
Ae71 To T18/te72 Lift Back Front End Conversion
BlueKsev replied to crustydemons666's topic in Automotive Discussion
Swap crossmembers and pedal box and should have no problems :) Might have to drill a couple holes to put the pedal box in is all -
Ohhh i think your just looking in the wrong places ke70dave, picked up my old ae71 for $100 and drove it home, bit of rust nothing major, swapped some stock t18 struts for my clean as stock ke70 without motor and box, easy sorted that though. Then the new ae71 i picked up last week, I'm not willing to say here but it was under a grand just needs a quick tidy up. ^ That should be what they're worth, theres just too many people after a cheap shitty daily these days or trying to find ae71 conversion bits

How To Convert An Auto To A Manual Ke70
BlueKsev replied to altezzaclub's topic in KE70 Technical Articles
I've just done this in a different one of my Ke's, i bridged the two black wires for the start in park thing, but i can only get it running with the extra power sent through the coil when you flick the key to 'start' with the starter motor!! So its not getting spark when you stop and try keep it running with the accelerator... flick the starter motor and it revs right up again happily.. I thought about bridging those two red wires but you have said here they are for the reverse lights... I'm out of idea's.... could be something the previous owner did and its unrelated to swapping to manual but thought i'd try ask here anyway :) Have i missed something? -
Yeah but its a standard motor, the right model car, you would have to have a seriously mean insurance company for them to void it. You'd be surprised what i've seen let through insurance inspections....
-
Oh i mean, the 4k's i found were out of a car that was still registered as running that motor, so if i was to try and get the motor registered in my Ke, they would have picked it up that it should still be in a different registered ke70. The one at SP Garage is out of my mates which is undergoing an sr20 conversion right now, and he is not having it mod-plated yet so you wouldnt be able to get that 4k legally registered/ plated or whatever in your ke. That said, everyone swaps motors in old cars and police don't check engine numbers unless something looks wrong, and if the motor is standard and in the right model car they usually wont even bother
-
Yeah +1 on Goringe's if you went down that road, got very reasonable quotes on some work for a 3t-c. And i am also probably the other guy you referred to looking for a 4k, well i did find one it was just difficult because i was after one that wasn't out of a registered car so i would be able to legally rego it in my new ke. Send SP Garage a message on facebook, they offered me a 4k for $50, and it is out of a mate's ke70 too so i know it runs fine :)

Tufff! And the bigger tires actually suit it i reckon, and i think it wants you to put a front lip on it

WGMG: Having an ae71, 2 x ke70's and finding another ae71 this morning for sale cheap... thing is Jono i have already bought mine :o Really didnt think this one through i don't know where to keep it......
-
MA61 in a real dark metallic gunmetal grey, big black bolt on flares boot lip etc so its looking tuffer then then mad max's Interceptor, some mad dish sweet looking wheels with a little bit of tyre stretch. Edit: and fck it, if we're talking dream ride then let it have a 2jz turbo putting out 700hp+ with screamer pipe and nice crackly bee-r limiter spitting flames and setting off car alarms!!!!!!

Rusty Relics - Post Old And Abandoned Rollas Here
BlueKsev replied to Tally's topic in Rollaclub Rides
I have sacrificed many corolla's in my time haha only have photo's for two though. Just finished off an ae71 yesterday. All for a good cause though :) sell parts/ steal bits for the blue ke70 or a new corolla i'm building. Kind of a before and after thing here - -
Wouldn't you go for ke55 with the plastic end caps? Even more like the expensive "jdm" ones, i almost did it myself, they look pretty good on one of the ke70s we have here in tassie. But those ke30 ones are almost t18ish, they look pretty good, but for $55 for both my xt130 bumpers I'm happy with mine  they sit really tight to the car too
-
Theres no convenience in putting men on the moon though, costs an absolute sh*tload and isn't really helping anyone, so pizza delivery really is the dominant achievement haha
-
Too many white corolla's, especially ke70s and ke10s Mix it up a bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Straight after watching 2 Fast 2 Furious or what? haha And yeah, stock bonnet and bumper it might pull off twin headlights, but it just isnt working atm hah
-
ke36..................... not too sure what to say here to express my sheer disgust.
-
Ohhh i'd believe that, seems like a very strange idea, especially using the diff, but yeah what he said ^ its just in backwards, and instead of a strut bolted to the knuckle, its got one of those modern disc-arm looking things. But there's also the Corona alloys, the 14" version of ke70's cs-x model ones.. Now all it needs is chopped falcons, fender mirrors and some drift stickers
