  1. Can cars with fancy things such as EFI and 4 wheel disc brakes attend? :hmm: If so, I'm in. And may have a mate bring his rolla down.
  2. Looks like a tidy example of an AE71 wagon, I'd put the dash mat back on if the car will be out in the sun for extended periods, as the sun will eventually cause the dash to go brittle and crack if not covered by a mat. You can always remove the mat at nighttime, and for car meets. Shame about the motor, but if you're able to put in a 4AGE, then it will be a fun car to drive and will definitely surprise people with its performance :D
  3. Love the pano, sits on a perfect stance, and looks mean in the british racing green. You sure love going through rims!
  4. Would anyone be able to tell me how to get to the fuel filter in my AE93 seca, and a rough guide on how to change it. I suspect my car is running a bit rich so i'm hoping a new fuel filter will help a bit in that regard.
  5. Looks overrated, haven't seen a KE70 in that colour before. Nothing like starting with a bone stock car too, you get to build it up exactly how you want :D
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. Immobiliser has been removed, with no effect. We've decided to get a mechanic onto the case.
  7. A Mate's AE93 SX with the factory Redtop 4AGE motor is refusing to start, and we are not sure where to look atm. The car's motor cut out while travelling at highway speed, and was not able to be restart. It does crank over, but that is as far as it will go. Fuel system appears ok, so we have narrowed it down to a spark issue. We have replaced the Ignitor and Coil with no luck... Could it be the dizzy that has died? The rotor button still spins though. It also may be worth noting that the car has an aftermarket immobilisers.
  8. What is the temp rating of the thermostat which would suit a Redtop 4age in a AE93 corolla? And are thermostats a universal fit, or would i need to state a specific part number at the parts shop?
  9. Looks and sounds like it goes well. How's the ecotec motor handling the boost?
  10. Looks like some serious work is going into the interior, looking good!
  11. Looks really tidy! Must be fun to drive with a 5 speed behind the ecotec motor. Not a fan of the unboxed pod, personally i'd make/buy an enclosure for it, but then again some people like to show off their pods.
  12. I might make an appearance and get my AE93 acquainted with some other rolla's :P
  13. If the V6 and T5 were running gear from the same car, might be handy to grab a few other bits from that car such as the ECU, and driveline components, unless you plan to re-use some driveline components from the rolla.
  14. Nice find! Doesn't sound like theres too much wrong with it, should be easy enough to put back on the road.
  15. Air cleaner looks overrated! Maybe chrome the rocker/cam cover to match.
  16. Cheers, forgot to mention that you had a big part in helping get my SX on the road. Nah you can get yet another lip which can be added onto the factory lip extension. Those lips are from a MX73 cressida. It'll make the front look a little lower and nicer :D Yeah i'll have to come down to Naracoorte one day, reunite the rollas! Though mine probably won't do as well on fuel in it's current state, still runs a bit rich and still has the hot air intake.
  17. I reckon follow everyone advice and sort out the overheating/water usage issue first, no point having a overrated looking cruiser if its going to cook itself 500m down the road... Sounds like you got some good plans for it, don't spray on the whitewalls, get flappers so it looks less dodgy. Maybe some venetians, or a front visor if there are ones out there to suit the liteace? Cut the springs if you like, but you may find that the van will bottom out at times, and have a rougher ride, if you want ride quality, get springs made for the height you want them. And of course don't go too low :P
  18. If the problem is still there with the amp cable removed from the battery, with the battery being good, and the problem getting less pronounced with higher rpm (higher rpm spins the alternator faster)I'm thinking its the alternator too. If the alternators on the 4a-fc are not too hard to access, see if you can borrow a good one and try it in your car.
  19. Love the Orange with black+ chrome accenting here and there. You thought about chroming the taillight surrounds, or is that a bit over the top in your books?
  20. The ideas are mostly to make the car better to drive, with a few things thrown in on the looks side of things. It will become a daily at some point so its gotta remain reasonable. Rim choice will be something that doesn't sacrifice handling too much but still looks good, so 14-15" is the way to go I hear. Does your car handle better since upgrading to 15x7 rims? Series 1 didn't have power windows standard, so you get some with, some without, Series 2 like Troy's came standard with them, but they pay for it with less comfy seats :P I'm not sure how big i'd go with the exhaust, i'd choose a size which is best for performance, based on what hardware the engine has (The cams are a maybe at this point) Extra noise would be nice too, the car is pretty quiet stock :bash:
  21. Cheers, Plans are to make it not so granny spec, here's some things I want to do in future -Get a decent fully working headunit in there (current one can't have radio programmed properly, and it refuses to play CD's) -upgrade the speakers (i suspect the front two are dead) -Get a 12" sub, or maybe twin 10"s -Alarm (to make the car more secure) -Aftermarket wheels (14" or 15", in a dark grey, shadow chrome or black) -Window Tint -Possibly Power window conversion (need to find out whats required for it) -Get the car sitting a bit lower (Will be getting decent shocks and springs to improve handling) -Few other bits and pieces to improve handling -Get an extension on the front bar extension (Cue Xzibit, I've seen a few SX with a small black lip at the very bottom of the front bar, I think it looks overrated) -AE101 Short shifter mod -Cold air intake -Airhorns!! -Mild cams + Exhaust to suit That's all i have off the top of my head, but first things first, gotta get the timing belt changed and the brakes professionally bled, to get the car close to A1 Mechanically before cosmetic mods start
  22. You might remember that i was looking for an AE93 SX/GTi a few months ago, well i picked one up so may as well show it off a bit. It's a White Series 1 SX Seca which had 208xxx on the clock at time of purchase. Pretty much granny spec aside from an alpine headunit which may as well be dead, and rear muffler has been replaced at some point with a decent looking tip, no peashooters here XD. Anyway onto the pics, some featuring TroysRollaSX
  23. Good to hear that a few adjustments has bucket running around with more poke. As with the flickering, does it only happen as the engine is being turned on, or does it happen repeatedly when the car is running? If its the latter, do you have an amp with thick wiring running toward it from the battery? 2.4L pintara sounds decent, though do plenty of research, you may find things which will steer you to or away from those cars.
  24. Nice SX, looks like its a real quick car. Let us know if the ducting to the brakes helps with cooling.
