  1. One more thing that could be useful if it already has the top off - pour a little bit of oil in ontop of each piston, move them up and down a bit (not all the way to the top) and see how much oil seeps past the rings. :n:
  2. Yeah its actually quite a drive train friendly method (apart from the clutch!) as all of the axles/GB/diff etc is being pre-loaded, rather than a jolt when you dump the clutch otherwise. :n:
  3. PM Shl!m nick. I sold him the 4 doors off that yellow car a couple of months back, so he should have 2 full sets. Otherwise you can have the ones out of my old car soon. but they have speaker holes. Think I'll just go alloy sheets. :n: Edit: which ones you want? all the way up, or a couple of inches below the window.
  4. Thought it was a bit TOO cheap to be true, assumed it was a typo. :n: Be in Hobart on Monday. You working? I'll come see ya.
  5. I would assume from your other post that this is for a 5k? :( Use some chevy solid lifters, and datsun A12 push rods to convert it to solid lifter. :D 5k's are hydraulic if you didn't know. :n:
  6. max performance - f@$k off the stock carb!!! question answered. wanna ask another question now!?
  7. I went to our base office in Hobart a couple of weeks ago and found a new toyota forklift sitting in the shed. First thing I did when I got there was pop the hood to see if it had a 5k in it! :( but it didn't. :D was gunna ask my boss if I could swap it for a 4k I've got at home. :n:
  8. another tip for launcing is the use of the handbrake! Mind you your clutch won't like this method heaps! :( sit at the lights with the car in firts gear and the handbrake on........ Bring the revs up to about 3000rpm........ slip the clutch out a bit, not to the point were you move the car or stall it..... This will cause the engine to start to load up and hence make boost..... Try and balance the clutch and hold it here "staging"........ when light goes green - dump the clutch, floor the accelerator, and drop the handbrake all at once. result...... this is basically a poor man trans brake. :D This method would work better in a rwd car as the handbrake is on the drive wheels, but still works for a fwd. If your using this method in say a TX3 or GTiR, hold it at 6000rpm not 3000!!! :n:
  9. Better off buying slave and TOB new from bursons, repco etc. Slave will be like $80 and TOB about $20. :n:
  10. I've got a seezed 4k you can have, but I doubt you wanna pay freight, and neither do I frankly!!
  11. Yeah right! just found this!!! Be in Hobart next Monday, can I still get this stuff for that price!?
  12. Pencil me in for 1, maybe 2 @ $300'ish! :n:
  13. Man you really did part of that the hard way!! After you have glued down your rings, stretch some t-shirt paterial over the section you want curverd (where you built up bog). The t-shirt material will stretch out neatly and give you nice curves. Then just paint some fibreglass resen over it and it will go hard. Give it a few coats and mininal bog to finish. BTW, thats not how I did the dash below, that was just drilled and sanded MDF.
  14. Rohan Ambrose from extreme rotaries has made most of the AR.com group buy kits. Can ask him, but I reckon you've got buckleys of him making 1 kit....well under like $500 anyway. See if he'd do a group buy on like 20 kits!! :y:
  15. I'll wait and see how I go on ebay (bidding on BB t25 and gt25 at the mo!!) and I might come have a look an the turbo and cooler in a week and a half James!?
  16. probably close!!.....most like because the air con hangs off the motor were the fuel pump normally is. Both won't fit on that side of the engine. :y:
  17. KE70 single outlet on the left......ke10 (one james is talking about) single outlet on the right. Also note the bigger ports in the ke10 mani. :y:
  18. Ah ok thats what the R is for.
  19. Every Ke55 I've ever seen (heaps) have all had twin outlets! :P
  20. Incorrect. :P KE55's have twin outlets. I have found that basically anything up to KE70 has twin outlets.
  21. Both interchangable. I pulled my ke55 twin out mani off and put a ke70 single outlet one on to do the j-pipe turbo set up. Twin outlets flow better than single. One thing to bear in mind though - if you are not using a stock inlet maifold (which you obviously aren't because of the SU's) you will be left with a hole in the top of the exhasut mainfold were the inlet bolts to it. You'll have to make up a plate to cover this.
  22. Dunno! All of the part listing I have been through lately all say KR42R, not just KR42.
  23. Including a business to run!!?? :D and a wife to keep happy! :P
  24. You were in Launy and didn't come say hi!....how rude!
