Turns out i was car blind it was actually a corona: KE55 wagon (sorry can't remember who owns it)

Wasnt there a pic of a purple/blue (sorry colour blind) one on here from perth or somethin.

Now i have been told that a gates is a genuine Toyota belt just restamped and a dayco is mitsubishi, Anyone confirm this?

The same thing happened to the 4A-C, The oil got low and the cam siezed and i spun the belt so the car stalled driving down the road(AUTO), Not knowing what happened i let the car sit for a minute while i looked over the engine and i turned it over and it started again so i gave it a rev and it died so i hit the key again and only the crank moved (you could tell by the noise the starter made) so i checked the belt and realised it was no longer ribbed.

On Phil Bradshaw's old website (i have it printed out) the is a reference to cam belts and he expresses that you cannot damage the valves or pistons on any 4age engine, And i myself know that it does not affect the 4A-C.

There are 2 different water pumps for the 4A-C (1 is longer than the other) if you are going to go thru the trouble of changing the pump as they are a P.I.T.A. why not just buy the recommended 1 for the car.

I work for vermeer and we were setting up the no-dig trade show in hall 1 and i had to go up to the back of hall 4 (autosalon dyno & rc track) to get the forklift so i decided to stand around there for a while and anyone could of just walked into the back section there but i decided to do the right thing and pay on sunday altho it was a good event i didnt really see anything other than supras, civics, skylines and silvias, IMO buying an import and putting a set of wheels on it, lowering it and cramming it with tv's should be left at sunnybank shopping centre and have cars there that people have put alot of effort into like this Ford Meteor.

You really aren't havin much luck with that car Des, regardless of what has happened this idiot has gone too far.

All i can do is shrug my shoulders and laugh, i will have a look another day :)

It has an internal regulator so you eliminate the plug for the regulator and plug the existing wire into the ignition terminal (can't remember what it is marked as and i can't find a diagram) and it will work for you.

I'm confused now aswell as i did this 10year ago when i had my ke55 p/van (yes i was 11) i put a tacho in it and it idled at 3000rpm and been 11 i didnt take any notice and i was told it was wrong and to adjust the switch and when i did it went to 800rpm but tonight i got my monster tacho out of the cupboard and on idle on 4,6 & 8 it all stayed the same and i even switched it off between switch changes, maybe the tacho i had was for a boat or something.

I did it to my 3k and it worked.

Does anyone know who owns that car?

My fuel pump shat itself so i brought a new fuelmiser 1 and i had the same problem (run for 5 mins then stall) and i found out that fuelmiser had a bad batch of diaphrams so i got another new pump and it was fine, You didnt do a pump change before this happened did you.

Set your tacho to 6 or 8 when on a 4 cylinder and it will read alot more revs.

Sure am, I was using ordinary clear packing tape and they complained about residue and so on (as you would after you just paid $30,000+) work told me to use duct tape and i have now for a few months and have not seen any residue or any paint coming off.

Duct tape is the best to use when it comes to paint (you wouldnt beleive it at 1st) but it leaves no residue and comes right off, We use it on machines at work to stick the address label on when they go out for delivery.
