  1. Super quick photoshop. I don't mind bottom left actually? Mmm, the only reason I don't want black is I feel like the car has too much black. Black bumpers, mirrors, door frames. It's got black stockies on it atm, with a chrome lip and nuts. Not too bad. I was kinda going to go for the crazy 80s JDM look. Hehe.
  2. That head unit was out of a KE70 at pick-a-part in Kilsyth. Such an easy install because it came from a KE70. THESE! I actually came to update ;) They look REALLY nasty in that picture, it's industrial grade paint stripper. Just ate it off and they were back to metal in a couple coats. I've cleaned up one rim and already began buffing the face for a machined face look after I paint them. I'm getting some Autosol to them tomorrow to polish up both the outside lip and the inside lip. Spencer - I'm stoked with these wheels. They'll come up like brand new. Thanks again. Dad's going away for a month to the states, so I'll finish cleaning them up tomorrow and whack them on grey/silver for now. Probs going to go a deep red/crimson with a machined face. But i'm not 100% sure on the red and yellow combo just yet. If I don't like them it just means I'll have to re-paint them. Other option was black with machined face.
  3. The more and more I see wagons and panelvans the more and more I like them! Frothing over this one:
  4. I've actually just bought Spencer's rims (gold ones) (See here) off his KE70. They're 14'x7' approx a +2 offset with a small bit of stretch on the tyres :) It's all about the offset, right? I was originally going to buy THESE as my mate has a container arriving in December. However they were without tyres, and with the shipping costs I figured I'd look deeper into the Rollaclub forums - get a bit more active instead of just lurking haha. I figured these will be quite similar once painted and machined a little ;) They're almost a cross-breed of SSR meshies and starsharks. So I'm pretty happy with them. Should be getting to the courier within the next few days. I mainly want them to give a nice stance and fill the guards of mine. EDIT: What rims are you running on your Crowie?
  5. Oooooooo. No response to that one Reed, haha. AND I MISSED OUT ON THE AFTER-SHOOT :( Looks Like I'll have to whip out my DSLR and take some non-phone shots myself. Not the same next to some other rollas though.
  6. Choppies in a 4age and semi-slicks! This thing will be crazy loose in the wet D: Mines loose with choppies and a tired 4k in the wet
  7. I spot me! And yeah, it was a good turnout. Good to see some nice Corollas. Loved the brown wagon... or panelvan? The only one side with windows confused me.
  8. Everyone knows that cable ties are for drift damage... hahahahaa. Although in the case of these almost all steel cars (unless you've got a chin spoiler) I guess they can have an alternative use XD
  9. Love it! I'll be whacking a set of red rims on mine in a couple weeks - the machined edges are the way to go.
  10. I think the "old celica" was a TA22, but I just checked pick a part's website, looks like it's gone. but it was definitely older than an 80 Celica: 1980 COUPE RED CE1292 Campbellfield 1987 COUPE WHITE KE1134 Kilsyth 1988 COUPE RED CE1600 Campbellfield 1990 COUPE WHITE CE1475 Campbellfield 1990 COUPE BLACK CE1617 Campbellfield 1990 COUPE BLACK KE1277 Kilsyth 1992 COUPE BLUE KE1365 Kilsyth 1993 COUPE BLUE CE1682 Campbellfield And here's a list of early Corollas for you as well. 1977 SEDAN WHITE KE1779 Kilsyth 1979 SEDAN YELLOW KE0898 Kilsyth 1980 S/W GOLD CE1338 Campbellfield 1984 SEDAN WHITE KE1543 Kilsyth 1984 SEDAN SILVER KE1269 Kilsyth
  11. I'll be there! Giving my K-Sev its Rollaclub debut :D Going to bring a mate with me, and another mate will be bringing his AE92 SX Seca - so some more Corollas to be merry with!
  12. Once again, i bring news! Kilsyth have 3-5 KE70s, a KE35 next to a brown Corona (yep!) and a few other Coronas. There's also an old Celica there with relatively nice seats and trim. Also about a 1994 Celica there. AND YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE ME! A Datsun Sunny ute! But it's been painted in military green, and appears to have been a farm car that's rolled over :( It's pretty bad.
  13. Wow, I really love the electronic dash!
  14. Now riding in the comfort and style of a nanna near you! Free lambs wool seat covers. Don't match the car, are ugly - but BOY are they comfortable!
  15. UPDATE! I did it - I got fender mirrors! Love it, hahaha! Also got a $20 sterio from pick-a-part. A sweet find.

That'll come out when you're telling your kids about your cars and your parents overhear you from their rocking chairs. "Remember the time..." "YES I DO."

I'm also liking where this build is going. I want to see the guards munching on some centrecap! Haha (that being said, I gotta work on some stance) Unfortunately we live in a country where defects are abundant!
  18. Haha, good. Yes, 13's with some dish. Good old Japanese style from the lost era
  19. Ah, yes. Hadn't selected my Avatar to show up :S KE70. It tucks the top few cms of the stock rear tyres. Roughly 2 coils lower than stock all 'round.
  20. Hey guys, I'm looking at importing a set of SSR Starsharks from Japan as a friend of mine has a container coming over at the end of the year. I've been looking around and have been trying to calculate if they'll fit under my car. They're 13' x 7' rear and 13'x 6.5' front with a 0 offset. Nice looking, and about 25000 yen, plus tyres when they get here. my guards have been rolled a bit already, but I want to avoid having to stretch them because it's had rust repairs. Here's a link for the ones I'm looking at/or similar. http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e113010724 Translated, pretty much it says buyer beward because there's no sticker, but we've estimated 0 offset, etc. The dish looks nice ;) My question is: Is someone able to advise me if they'll fit under the car? Or will I need some modification to the guards to fit them? Thanks in advance :)
  21. Funnily enough, it was on eBay for $1000. But out East in Yarra glen. And to all the chrome bumper comments.. I had contemplated it, and there was a KE55 at the wreckers I almost took them off but I settled with these. As for the lights, I think it's also because of the grille I'm using. Mine is just the stock flat-front cut to fit instead of the honeycomb one. I think I'll put the grille badge back in the break it up a little. And thanks everyone else for the encouraging comments :) It's nice to feel like your work has paid off. P.S. I'll have to bring my DSLR out on a the next sunny day and snap some nice shots.
  22. Actually, I noticed you're Croydon. I live in Lilydale but Dad's shop is in Croydon. Close by, haha.
  23. haha yes, my Dad is always saying it looks like a Datsun too - the 1600 more specifically. And industrial design is pretty full on in the amount of work, but I enjoy it :) I'm in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. And the club plates... Funnily enough dad's in the Pontiac car club which allow secondary cars to be registered under their club provided you own a Pontiac before that. We've got a '77 Trans Am and a '63 Laurentian (Catalina). We also used to have a '69 Firebird :)
  24. Haha thanks guys. Yeaaaah.. I keep regularly searching "114.3" on eBay to see if something pops up at some stage. I was thinking 15" wantanabes or similar era-specific wheels. And totally agree about the colour. As soon as I got it I was swearing that I would definitely be re-spraying it in a dark blue/maroon/emerald. But it's a big job to re-spray a car properly, and personally I would've liked it to be a good respray. I was just easier to rub the original colour and spray over it with a brighter yellow.
