  1. If you're going to spend that much money, why bother with a 4AGTE? For the money you'll probably end up spending you might as well go with a Dustbin motor (less money, less hassle, more power, much more potential) or if you really wanted a Toyota motor then just get a 3SGE, or put a little more money in and get a 3SGTE.
  2. The 20V is a lot more tricky to get in, because of the rearward dizzy. It can be done (either by modifying the firewall, or moving the dizzy), but it's more stuffing around.
  3. Soooooooooooooooooooooooo sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy, got home tooooooooooooooooooooooo late last night, had tooooooooooooooooooooo much fun, now soooooooooooooooooo sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy...
  4. :insane:
  5. I would recommend going for a 2S. 2NS is great if you just want to do really small events or not drive (just navigate), but really, you might as well go to a 2S...
  6. Look for an AE71, it will make your life a fair bit easier. It isn't hard to modify a KE70 to run an A series motor, but it is a bit of stuffing around that you can avoid if you just get an AE71 to start. Depending on how much you can get an AE71 for, you should be okay for $8000 if you do a lot of the work yourself and you don't go crazy. So yes, the two big things you'll need to go out and buy now, are an AE71, and a 4AGE (or GZE, depending on what you are after). Once you get those two, then you can start fiddling and getting all the small things together.
  7. And yet some teams still regularly manage to run perfect scores!!!
  8. How much money? How long is a piece of string? All you will need to get you started is the new engine and exhaust. Most everything else that isn't big will bolt in. Even with the exhaust if you were really tight on cash you could just get the front section replaced. 4AGZE, no idea how much they go for these days, budget $1000 and you should have some spare. Exhaust depending on how wild you want to go, anywhere from probably $200'ish for a very basic front section to $1000+ for something more exotic. You may need to upgrade your brakes, depending on who does your engineering. Speak to them beforehand.
  9. YAY for Datgirl and Paul!
  10. No, not cheap. I've been looking for a 2nd hand LSD (approx $700) for the past 6 months, and it isn't looking like I'm getting any closer at all. I figure with my luck with 2nd hand bits so far I might as well spend the extra and get a brand new one. No, doesn't include gears, I'll probably end up re-using my 2nd hand 4.1 gears, for now anyway. Not planning on bolting anything ballistic in the car. Not planning on forced induction, so at most even with engine work I don't think I'd be making enough power to break it. As for appropriate gearing for now I'd be happy with 4.1 or 4.3. Any lower and I'd probably need some different gearing for my T50 to make it more useable.
  11. Last time I calculated it, it would cost me about $1500 to get a Hilux diff in my car, and that's with lots of 2nd hand bits. And besides, it's huge, and as with all big things I'll probably lose more power though it... Plus, I've already spent close to a grand setting up this diff in my car, I'm not going to ditch it now :insane: It's a bit like my car, I've spent too much time and money on it to give up on it :jason:
  12. ATTENTION!!! Tonight (19th Nov) Nav run is not the usual nav run!!! It is the Dreamworld Nav run! So it starts at the Dreamworld Car Park. Entries between 6.30 and 7.30pm. Entry fees $15 http://www.msccqld.org.au/ Entry forms: http://www.msccqld.org.au/entry_forms.htm
  13. Nevah! :insane:
  14. Interesting :insane:
  15. Interesting: I'm guessing that means you can set the LSD up as either a 2 way or a 1.5 way, whichever you prefer?
  16. Yes I have no doubt that the TRD one would be strong enough for my liking :insane: Just that if the Cusco one is going to work better and last longer, then maybe it's worth the extra money? Really depends on how much the rebuild kits cost I suppose, I mean if the Cusco rebuild kits cost like 3 times more than the TRD ones then... No idea, I'm just going by what I've heard here...

  18. Are you sure the AE86 TRD ones are helical? All the ones I've heard of and seen have been clutch type, as far as AE86's go anyway. A friend of mine has even rebuilt his, and it was a clutch type? I've heard of the AE86 TRD LSD's failing, but generally more from abuse and serious power (SR20DET) than anything else. As with any other clutch type LSD they do wear out eventually though.
  19. Poor Teddy...
  20. OH WOW, THAT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!!! Not to mention that the video's actually really well done too. They have like mini cameras that fit on the cars!

    Wow... Hmm... Motorsport.
  22. Mmm, I'm tempted to do the same. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out on it anyway. Now, where did I plant that money tree?
  23. So it is now: Trent Andrew Trent friend ? Wasn't there only 2 spots available in Ben's car?
  24. Hmm, just out of interest, VisionR has just agreed to drop the prices of all of them by $170 delivered (and maybe even match the Cusco MZ to the TRD price), if a group buy of 5 happens. I think at least one person has already put their hand up too... So that's about AUD1080 delivered for the TRD or Cusco MZ, and about AUD1280 for the Cusco RS. Wow.
  25. kiwi: Erm... these are remote control cars, you do realise?
