  1. Just an offtopic post from me. Yay, tomorrow motorkhana! Have sort of been messing around with my website (http://www.fookstar.com) , changed the backend system. Was using WebAPP which was sort of like a content management system, and am now in the process of moving over to Pivot which is like a blogging tool. WebAPP does lots of things, but doesn't do any of them particularly well. Have been messing around with Pivot for about a day now, and am liking it a fair bit so far. Doesn't do as much, but what it does it does very well. Where is Jamie? I tried to call him too, but can't seem to get to him?
  2. thumb'ed! :P
  3. Andrew: we'll just have to get you to the next autocross now won't we? :P
  4. Yes, I think it was 12-15, something like that. Let's see if we can get 12 this time hey? :P
  5. Xany: Oooh nice work! When I drained the oil from my last box (T50) it had lots of little bits of shiny things too. Never did open up the box... Rob: Already? Wow, time flies!!! That would mean... I haven't visited you in too long!
  6. Hmm, does anyone see any females taking any of the top-3 positions? I don't :P
  7. Rob: Why are you still here (in Brisbane I assume, since you're online)? Aren't you doing Benarkin?
  8. I'm up for the challenge, BRING IT! :P ps: pah, no contest! :P
  9. Happy Birthday
  10. I bought my shiftlight for A$106, it's by Pivot. Mine is the model that hooks into the car wiring loom, there's another one that's about A$35 more that takes the signal directly from the car ECU (I would assume off the tacho signal? No idea). And mine is blue... Would have probably liked red, or maybe amber, but they didn't have any, so blue it was. This is it: It apparently retails for USD169.95. There are cheaper ones out there - If I'm not mistaken umm... There's a company on the Gold Coast that makes a cheaper simpler one (just a little LED that you can install in your dash), not sure if it'll work with a carby car though, I can't really see why it wouldn't, but some of them insist on a signal from the ECU. Can't remember the name of the place, Paul P. has one in his rally ute.
  11. yay :P
  12. Hmm... I don't know if I agree with you or not... I much prefer my 4AGE over my 4K, and I recon a worked 4AGE would absolutely kickass. Not saying that a 4K is any less fun, but I wouldn't say that a 4AGE is "boring"...
  13. Hmm, I was wrong. They do sell "normal" unleaded fuel in Malaysia, but they don't have any leaded fuel, or even LRP. None I could find anyway... Have installed shift lamp (but not calibrated), I like. Practically blinded me first time it came on (at about 1500RPM, haha), it's SO BRIGHT!!! Impossible to miss, that's for sure. I like my shiftlight :P Haven't installed boot clamps yet, have no idea how to...
  14. Hey, my 4AGE is fun :P
  15. Is that what they're called? They seem to be... cap heads? Not sure what size, where can you buy 1/2 drive allen key sockets?
  16. No, I don't think it would cost that much either. I don't know how much getting the head shaved would cost though. It's mainly time, and motivation. I've got waaay too many commitments, and far too little time :P Haven't even unpacked my bags from when I came back, haven't replied to half my email, haven't paid my bills, have been late for work every single day, oh what a mess I am!
  17. Irokin: Umm, no idea? Teddy: I had a look into doing that, but getting to the headbolts requires taking the cams etc all out, basically everything in the head has to be taken out to get to them, and if I was going to do that I might as well change the head gasket too... Although I suppose if I just did that then I wouldn't need to take the intake/exhaust manifold etc off. Also, it uses an allen key sort of bolt?
  18. Oh wow, Craig went to hillclimb, cool :P
  19. It's leaking coolant outside the block, not inside the block, so the oil isn't getting water in it. Or at least, it doesn't look like it is. And yes I know I should change the head gasket, I just don't have the time or motivation to do it at the moment and I can't really afford to pay someone else to do it either. I'm almost certain the head would be a little warped too, so will need a bit of a skim.
  20. Yes, tried that. Still smell boiling coolant, but don't know where it's coming from. I suspect maybe the headgasket leak just got worse. Drove the car a fair bit tonight, seems to be okay. Temperature stayed constant, so apart from the smell of boiling coolant, nothing usual. Will check coolant level tomorrow and see how much it's dropped.
  21. Car now starts. Dizzy was full of coolant. Hmm. Took the car round the block, there's still steam pouring out of the engine bay (indicating water leak? Unless it's leftovers from yesterday...), can't see where the water is leaking from...
  22. OMG Teddy, you are mad. Well done, BTW :P
  23. "Oil everywhere": Oil all over the block and gearbox and crossmember and well... you get the idea. Powersteering fluid was low when I bought it, filled it up and it's been perfect since, until last night. I don't know how I lost so much water in such a short time, when after refilling the radiator at home I ran the car for a good 5 minutes and lost nothing. "Trickling water replaced by trickling oil": When I got home i looked under the car to see if it was still trickling water (so that I could see where the leak was), but instead there was oil dripping. Looked to be coming from the head gasket. Oil looked okay (no bubbles, no sign of water, no sign of an internal leak), level also okay (a smidgen under F). Mustave not lost much oil. Car still doesn't start. Can smell fuel, so car is getting fuel. But I don't think it's getting any spark. Have checked and rechecked everything, can't figure out why there is no spark. Currently waiting for RACQ man.
  24. Hmm. Camry did something not-so-good today. Was driving into the city and sitting at lights noticed temperature rising. Also noticed fluid flowing down the road. Stopped car, popped bonnet, torch light stopped working, couldn't see where water was coming out. Anyway, refilled water as best I could and limped car home (less than 5 mins). Got home, got another torch, had another look. No more water (again), looked under car and trickling water had been replaced by trickling oil (!!!). Not sure where oil is coming from, looks like head gasket maybe. Oil is everywhere. Water long since gone. Checked dipstick, oil looks ok, no bubbles and level still looks ok. Also noticed power steering fluid has dropped a fair bit. Checked all pipes, lower radiator hose was *slightly* lose, don't think it would have leaked quite as bad as it did before. Refilled water, started car, no leak? None visible anyway. Stopped car, cleaned up everything, went to start car again, no more start :P Hmm. Stupid camry.
  25. Oh wow... what happened?
