  1. Seat belt is quite common. Also some people use a short length of chain, one end bolted to body and the other end with a carabiner to clip to the bonnet latch. Some people use a leather belt (like the sort of belt you usually wear around your waist), and others use rope. Really up to you what you want to use... Sticker sets, any "performance" shop like GP Cars (where I got mine and Craigs), Revolution Racegear, Xtreme Motorsport etc. Jamie: Are you trying to boost up Mango's street cred? Haha, are you actually going to do any events that require these bonnet pins/stickers/tow hooks etc? :) Also, bear in mind that you *may* get defected for bonnet pins as apparently it poses a danger to the pedastrians that go "bump" off your bonnet.
  2. And so because this car will then go real quick in a straight line therefore it will win all the hillclimbs?
  3. Personally I don't think it matters, but most of the ones I've seen have it going front to back
  4. AFAIK with the night nav runs it's usually a mud map and/or route chart. Mind you I've only ever done 1 so... I don't think they ever get you to actually plot a course...
  5. Umm... Mine were... Hmm. They were either lower control arm bushes or leaf spring bushes, I don't really know. Else, I've seen people use even garden hose or anything else that fits. When you install them, set them about the correct height and put a dab of oil or grease on the tip, and close the bonnet. Then you'll have a little spot on the bonnet where you need to drill. From there, Have Fun. Drill a hole, close bonnet, see where it's fouling, drill more. Lots of fun. NOT. If you don't want to drill holes in bonnet, you can always make a secondary bonnet restraint out of chain, link, leather belt, whatever really.
  6. It's pretty easy, fairly straightforward, and there's people to give you some tips before you start (but get there early) Some night run types So far it seems that the common ones seem to be Mud Maps and Route Charts. And for Touring Road Events like Queensland Challenge there's also Tulips and stuff.
  7. your silly :)
  8. Well... In PhatDat there really wasn't very much clearance at all between that strut and pipe - but that was fixed with some percussion therapy, right Craig? :)
  9. Heh, I got my last one about 3 months after my previous one expired, and it was only valid for 9 months although I'd paid for 12 months... *dodgy*
  10. This is the only photo I seem to be able to find of Craig's Datsun's engine bay (PhatDat): It looks much better than that really. The guy who built all that stuff (and also built my exhaust and strut brace) makes some really nice looking gear. You should see the exhaust on PhatDat, it's really something to drool about. I think it's HPC coated too, where's mine's all rusty already :) Also suspension in PhatDat is... Very very cool. At least mine LOOKS vaguely like the original setup, PhatDat is virtually 100% custom built.
  11. Hmm, interesting choice of engine for a Clubman. In any case, *holy shit batman, that's a K motor???* :)
  12. Haha, I had them jump out at me as I was walking to work once, their excuse was that they had a delivery to do but they were given too many of the "products" so they were selling the "extras" :)
  13. Card? It's a little book thingy, they should have sent it to you by post. Else you still have your 30-day licence (though it may be expired...)
  14. Teddy: This Friday. Hmm, I should call someone and make sure it's on and confirm that the starting point is still the same...
  15. To each their own. ae71neo: One of you (either you or your nav) will need a CAMS licence, I think a 2NS or something is sufficient. Apart from that, a torch light, some pens and some paper and maybe a clipboard. That's about it really...
  16. Umm... The ENTIRE thing usually takes about 2 hours, so no you don't need a back seat full of redbull and unhealthy snacks at all. Grim I think you're mixing this up with the Midnight To Dawn.
  17. KE55's came with passenger mirrors anyway, just VERY few of them. I managed to find one for Pinky (and it's still on Pinky)
  18. Don't quite have $17K, but have about $15K... Now where is it? Oh shite, it's transformed into a funny looking white and black thing in my garage :)
  19. On the KE55 (and possibly KE3x) that little panel is spotwelded to the door skin so you can't pull it off. But it's not difficult to make another one of those, just a piece of say 1mm steel and spotweld 2 nuts to it. Alternatively you can be like me and use nutserts :) And yes, self tappers in general are not good for anything. I think HAL probably has... very minimal number of self tappers - from memory only the roof rail seals are being held in by self tappers, everything else has been replaced with proper bolts.
  20. You turn up, pay money, you get a piece of paper with instructions and questions, you follow instructions and questions and at the end you end up somewhere and they tell you how you went :)
  21. I can help if you trust my dodgy workmanship :) (and if I don't break my car beforehand...)
  22. Oh, haha - the next night run (this Friday) is being hosted by Toyota :) YAY
  23. Aren't all AE86's? :)
  24. Oh yeah, you wanted those notes... I kinda forgot.
  25. Dude, it's like $5 or $10 or something (depending on the course, changes from time to time)... Oh well.
