  1. Yes 5K is bigger than 4K. 5K is 1.5L of fun.
  2. Oops, looks like I counted wrong, I came in 17th outright, 3rd in class. Peter came in 21st outright, 5th in class, and that's with a DNS for the last test because the Rolla died. Doug 27th outright, 7th in class, with 2 WD's.
  3. Oh cool, website. Covergirl: What's to come? Is that like a personal website? Or do you do modelling and stuff?
  4. Oh man that emoticon is SO WRONG :)
  5. Hehe... I think I still have my number too :) Car went home yesterday and was on stands even before the spare wheels and tool box came out of the car
  6. Erm... it was in the calendar. Guess I should have started a thread on it earlier, I was slack... Sorry :)
  7. That's pretty cool. You found a Starion master cylinder??? Wow! I was looking for one of them ages ago and then gave up, ended up getting a Pajero unit instead. Nice rims, but don't really think they suit the car... Apart from that, looking good :)
  8. Have looked at finances and time, looks like the only thing that *may* be fixed for Queensland Challenge will be the exhaust. Going to get the car back on stands tomorrow and check the gearbox oil level, maybe cover the speedo cable drive with silicone and hope it somehow seals. Or if I get motivated maybe drain the box again and swap speedo drives with one of the other broken boxes. Diff? Haha.
  9. Haha, I recon he'd have to have more camber in the front end after landing that one :)
  10. Well, it was a fun day... But none of you were there except for Peter and Doug, so HAHA, you all missed out  Was run a little different to usual in the sense that we only ran 4 tests, but we ran each of them twice so we got a chance to experiment and stuff. Proved to be rather useful, I even had the chance to do the last test 5 times (Diamond Slalom) :) Took out a flag twice, completely obliterated it both times - the same flag too! Turns out I can do the diamonds, but I can't do the slalom ;) Spun once. Hal is an interesting car. After a lot of stuffing around (my wheel nuts wouldn't fit my motorkhana rims) got the skid tyres on and went for a lap around the block and boy-oh-boy... 3rd gear slides without even trying (or wanting to really). Driving to Willowbank also proved interesting... Anyway, turns out my handbrake still doesn't work and wouldn't even lock up my super-skid tyres, so after doing the first 2 tests (4 runs) I gave up even trying to use it. Was really annoyed, this stupid handbrake is really shitting me. Anyway, after I gave up trying to use it my day became a lot better, and thankfully the next 2 tests (Manuevering and Diamond Slalom) didn't really require the handbrake. Now let me say something. Diamond Slalom is a lot of fun. In fact, it's even more fun when you do it in 2nd gear. Because in 2nd gear, you go REALLY fast, and the car cuts sideways faster than you can imagine. And you burn A LOT of rubber. One of my runs I managed to pretty much hold the slide from the 2nd flag till the 2nd last flag (that's 2 rounds around the course, including a slalom in the middle :)) It's really really fun =) You also wipe out flags in a very large way... Anyway, car is now home. Brakes have been taken apart, cleaned up (shoes a bit glazed, maybe that's partially why they're so shit), readjusted and put back together. Haven't had a chance to test it yet though. Exhaust is broken again (so that's what that stupid rattling sound was...) Sucks. Gearbox is leaking oil rather badly, should look at that sometime. For now I'll just fill it back up. Diff is sounding rather average, making some strange "clunk-clunk" sounds when going from forward to reverse, and some other times... The backlash is quite bad. I'm glad I'm upgrading the diff sometime... Today was fun. I managed to come in 3rd in class and 15th outright, even with the major stuff-up's in the first 2 tests... You should have been there  Unfortunately it looks like Peter has managed to break the KE20, hopefully it's not too serious :fuzz: Oh yeah - CONGRATULATIONS to Rob and Mel for a super Class Win again (in Rockhampton)
  11. Looking good Teddy. Now all you need is a "real" steering wheel and a black roof lining :)
  12. So umm... Let me get this straight - you wanted to look for chicks so you went to a LAN party??? Erm... Hello? :)
  13. Oh, we got lost. We were doing fairly well for most of the way though.
  14. If you've got a V8 in a rolla it's already amazingly heavy - might as well go the Hilux diff.
  15. Yay, another DNF. We're doing well.
  16. I think you'd almost get the opposite reaction... Although strangely enough I've never even once been pulled over in Hal which I'm very surprised about considering I used to get followed home and pulled over weekly in the Lancer that only had a big exhaust and big rims... And windows that were far darker than legal...
  17. Haha, Josh is going up head-to-head against Teddy for hardest-to-understand-post! :)
  18. Heh - lots of cars scare me - but I think it's more to do with the driver than the car :) I still have visions of riding in a certain very mad 5K KE70 flying through the forest at absolutely ridiculous speed, yet somehow managing to remain relatively calm (apart from a ridiculous grin across my head) because the driver appeared as if he was having a Sunday drive to the shops...
  19. Even more fun, rice up the car with lots of cardboard and paint, lots of "turbo" and "nos" stickers. Now, cruise through town with windows half down. And, to finish off the effect (and this is the fun bit) get a loudspeaker and make "pssshhhh!" sounds every so often (who cares if it doesn't correspond with gearchanges...). Haha, reminds me of that rumour of someone who returned a shift light because it wouldn't come on any lower than 6000RPM ("what's the use of that? it'll never ever come on when I'm cruising through the city!")
  20. ... but I have a smaller cam :)
  21. Haha, maybe I should go borrow a racesuit (Rob?) and bring my helmet and gloves and poofterboots into Replay and play Daytona all day in full gear :)
  22. No no, I'm not knocking it - just that from your posts it almost sounds like "it's a real quick car, so it will win all the races". Good to see that the car's being set up well, it's a real shame to see some cars with all this expensive bling gear and doesn't go, and with all this adjustable expensive suspension bits but doesn't handle...
  23. WELCOME BACK :) Good to hear the Rona is going well, sounds like a beastie
  24. Was walking past the Replay on Albert Street today after lunch and noticed this guy just getting into the seat of this new driving game (can't remember the name, one of those Jap Doriftor games). He had this big bag of tokens and everything, had a smug *oh-i'm-so-tough* look on his face, cap and sunnies, and... *wait for it* CUT-OFF DRIVING GLOVES! I mean, like you know Mad-max style half-finger driving gloves??? Stopped to watch him for a bit, I thought "Hmm, what's with the driving gloves??? Maybe he's like a serious gamer or something", and there he went, playing BEGINNER mode, trying to drift through the corners and everytime he passed the opponent (again cause he got passed 30 seconds ago after he hit a car/wall/kerb etc) he'd look around and look smug, as if trying to check if anyone saw it... So... Sad.
  25. I've got a 2.25" mandrel exhaust on Hal :)
