  1. ^^ One simple answer to that - Road rules apply. A councillor on the sunny coast a few years back tried pushing for an area that could be closed off to the public for the local "hoons" to go and pull skids, race etc etc. What killed it was the general public, they wanted the "hoons" off the streets but they didn't want them to do in safety. Mind you the cops liked the idea of getting the "hoons" off the streets.
  2. Oky doky
  3. This link http://au.geocities.com/ke1x/ignition.htm is dead. From the article - Distributor in the Electrical section http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Distributor
  4. Urm, the english flag is way to far away for me to click on !! At least it'll keep those pesky red-coats from clicking on me :)
  5. Might be time for a sanity test :)
  6. From what i can remember the g13a in the sierra uses a smaller bore and longer stroke to get its 1.3litres and while the twin cam head fits there's a few mods needed to make it work, water ports mostly. But if you bore the block out to fit the twin cam pistons you'll get around 1.4litres.
  7. Oh yes i know the reason why a crap load of money is spent on the K series. Class restrictions, historic. But from my point of view i'd be sticking with a 4k or if i upped to a twin cam it'd be a suzuki g13b or the g16b and not the bucket of bolts 4ag
  8. You and me both. The only thing i have to bitch about the G-series twincam head is that the dizzy is at the back of the head and that it'd take a bit of money to have it changed. But then again the cap from a 323 and its modified rotor button can fit...
  9. Yeah i'm with that as well. Pretty plausible when you start thinking about all the advances thats been made. Specialist cranks (alloy and what not), Alloy rods, pistons. And then on to the head with roller rockers, modified rockers, custom dual (or triple) valve springs, oversized valves. Upping the compression, better fuel, better fuel control. Yadda yadda yadda Years ago i got a book from the library, David Vizard was the author, and one of the things he wrote about was for the under 1litre motor (850cc or something like that) was of modifying the intake ports - filling in, or blocking, the ports and moving them to almost vertical. It was so that the air/fuel mix had a straight shot from the carby to the valve and into the cylinder without a dog-leg. And the bitch side of it is that all the David Vizard books have been pulled from the shelves (re-read that as "stolen")
  10. Oh yeah and to top it off. Called the doctors to see about making an appointment and found out there's only one on out of the five and she's flat out today.

  12. Leaving work early cause of still being sick. Yeah sure my job gives me the shuts at times but i still want to stick it out for the day and know that i've done something "constructive" and not go home and bum around home.

  15. http://majesticvanners.forumotion.com/your...nel-van-t58.htm In two minds about the grill. But the head lights, love the head lights. How'd you it ? :)
  16. :) flat or slanty  Nar the ke30 looks better :)
  17. Sounds like a lot of work converting from leaf springs.
  18. Looking through my copy of the DBA catalogue and yep their different. The KE's that had the sumitomo calipers uses rotors of a 10mm thickness where as the girlock calipers are 12.7mm thick. Both ke3x and early '5x used both. The late '55 and '70 used the girlock caliper. Wheel bearings are the same and the bolt points for the calipers are the same. So in a way if you can go the girlocks go the girlocks for a slight upgrade.
  19. Its Basil Brush BOOM BOOM
  20. Done For some reason the volt gauge has clouded up. So i might have to get a new one and i want to swap the temp gauge for one in celsius. Next on the list is tacho and vacuum gauge. Toying with the idea of an aftermarket fuel gauge where the clock is and the tacho where the fuel/temp combo is, just would have to figure out with the warning lights and where to place them.
  21. The lancers been branded
  22. Just remember to change the filter/s every so often - eg: breathing feels like its getting hard or your starting to smell the fumes.
  23. Got this article from a yahoogroup ([email protected]) http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm After a quick search around, mostly other forums that had the link to the same article, one had this http://www.bt.cdc.gov/agent/phosgene/basics/facts.asp One forum has this to say http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/commu...ead.php?t=18108 So i went out to the garage and had a hunt through my cans (brake cleaners of different brands a carby cleaner, a can of RP7 and typical paint spray cans) and all they said was what their propellent was and nothing of the active ingredients ?! But then i came across this - http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/cnc-l...y-issue-185470/ Which seams interesting cause all but one of my cans uses hydrocarbons as its propellent. Carbon dioxide was used in a can brake cleaner.
  24. It all happened so fast !
