  1. Depends on which type of coil-over - McPherson style yes, possibly. Multi-link style no, not really worth the hassle. Hey, hey, the tow bar is a piece of usefulness - it can be used to tow a trailer.
  2. Maybe from a body point of view. In stiffing the side to side bracing of the body but for it to really work it'd have to be up higher (more around the parcel shelf height) But from the suspension side of things its not really worth it cause the shockie mounts do virtually bugger all in the way of supporting (or stopping) unwanted movement from the suspension arms - things like toe/camber changes the shockies do bugger all to stop it from happening. Thats for the suspension pick up points (or where the arms are located on the body) they need the bracing. The shockies are there for damping the action of the springs and not much else. The only time bracing the shockie mounts is (or can be) useful is when their integrated into the arms like the McPherson struts on the front of the car. Be better off grabbing yourself a tow bar mount and fitting that up
  3. ^ Same, i can't really see the point of it. Maybe if it was tied in with a full roll cage. Think you'd do a better job of grabbing yourself a tow bar mount and using that
  4. Good to see that the Australian education system does pay off  Never had to time a cam before, but i'd imagine that if the cylinder is at TDC that'd mean the valves are fully closed and the spark is about to arrive. So wouldn't the cam be set the same way - valves fully closed and not set so that the exhaust is on the verge of opening. My take of it is that the "heel" is the start of the "ramp" for the lobe.
  5. And also what type of paint - enamel, acrylic, 2pack. Which then goes into which brand of paint - Supercheap stuff, Concept, Sikkens. As something the Sikkens brand is about the best. It also shows in its price - about $105 for one litre of a basic colour (working up to and over $200 for the more fancy stuff) and then you've also have to buy the hardener for it, something like $35 (i think) for a litre and thinner around the $20 for a litre. But yeah, it comes down to what needs to be done - prep wise, if your allowed to do the prep work yourself, the type of paint - enamel being the cheapest and easiest to lay but acrylic being the harder wearing. 2 pack is the dearest, the hardest to lay but its also the hardest wearing. My opinion would be to ask the panel shop if you can do the prep work (or at least as much as you can), go acrylic (it'll cost a little more but you won't look back). But the downside is if the car is already painted enamel, i'd stick with enamel (harder to prep for laying acrylic onto enamel then what it is the other way around). Ask a few panel shops, show them the car. Good ones will want to talk to you about the car, what you want and work out a rough estimate on material and labour. Bad ones will just grunt, groan, moan and give you a price. But yeah rough guide would be around $500 - $5000.
  6. Thats cause of Stuff she had along with the four others
  7. Meet Smoke N Stuff
  8. I'd be inclined to go with Bamboo cause their not 12's. It'd be nice if i wasn't so damn introverted at times, would have toddled over and asked if they knew about the club
  9. What i found interesting was that the general forum area was blocked off to guests where as the mods/admin section was open, only a fool would do something like that. And if the guy has been diddling with other peoples postings just makes him look like a bigger fool. Sounds like the guy has an ego problem, be interesting to see how the forum fairs over the months. Think of all the tech articles, build-ups etc etc that now the writers can't access. Be kind of nice and childishness if a mod or admin (if theres any left) can go in and delete the stuff
  10. Bunnings today grabbing a couple of bags of potting mix and on the way out A bit of time and effort i'd say went into this little beasty
  11. Well, that just sucks the big one. I had a couple things on there bookmarked and that its gone "private". I am a member, but its been a good while so, i guess i should be saying "was a member". I''m not going to ask how much money this guy forked over so that he could shove the forum down the toilet. I don't just see it as a money value, its old owner would have put a hell of a lot of time, effort, sweat and, quite possibly, blood into the forum.
  12. I think its cause he lost his nuts somewhere down the road :D :S Hey hey miss JiP :P :D
  13. :D yeah could be a possibility. My phuckin camera and its bloody ability to chew through batteries. Don't get me wrong i love the thing but why does it have to have such a damn fetish for batteries is grating on my nerves.
  14. :D whats the female version for JiP ?? Aah bugger it, i here by re-name you "miss JiP" Taking the rear tires off the turtle so that i can do the leaves and bushes finely and noticing that both tires are just, by a bee's who who, off the minimum depth markings. But the outside edge of the left tire is a lot worse. Like, bloody heck i can't even get the thing to cock a wheel in the dirt let alone in my dreams.
  15. Would you believe after seeing a few of this things floating around the place over the years thats the first time i've actually seen what the dash looks like :D Like, it looks clean and functional but cluttered at the same time. Still, it'll scrub up pretty good but
  16. And someone that drives a_bus springs to mind :D :S
  17. Yep, you've got my vote of confidence :D

  20. A ke30 2 door is basically a 2 door sedan (or a tudor) whereas the ke35 is a coupe ^ke30 2 door^ ^ke35 coupe^ For me the 2 door is way sexier :P
  21. Nope still the same :P Going to see how it goes changing the Email Notifications in my control panel. Possibly a cookie glitch at my end ?
  22. Nope, nothing there apart from the typical viagra and other rubbish. I've also had a poke around to see if rollaclub.com was put onto the block list (no) and its also still on my contacts list. I've just had a look see in my control panel but i don't see anything out of wack, all the boxes are ticked for email notification. Had to take a run to the smallest room in the house and realized that its been happening on and off since saturday
  23. "Topic Subscription Reply Notification" I noticed about yesterday i've haven't been receiving them Don't know if its worth it but at the moment using firefox 3.0.1 (going to update it soon, stupid thing crashes on some web pages that i haven't been to before). A dash of coke with my wild turkey on the rocks thanks :P
  24. :D and to think - i was just thinking about your chariot the other day Hope you haven't been throwing rice at the poor thing :D See if you can hunt up a wrecked Pulsar Langley for the motor and box or a 1.8lt vector for the lsd box (from memory 1.6lt vectors only the upper spec versions had the lsd). Holden Calibra
  25. Thats it I'll take on any and everybody, me and my turtle, and lose. But really we're not like that are we ?? We're all for our corolla which, i believe in Greek, is the group of petals for a flower. When most people think of flowers its valentines day and all that luby duby stuff they hope to get. For others its "flower power" my follow hippies and free love and all that. So its got to be that we believe in free love and that jazz :D :D :D
