Old hotrod trick with removing the gutters

I normally run it off the dimmer switch. No ground just start from the dimmer switch to the gauge light and then back to the other wire on the dimmer switch. As i found when i had the ae82. One wire from the dash lights to the gauge to ground - either the gauge light would be full bright or off or the dash lights would be off and gauge full bright (vise verse). If the gauge light works the opposite then swap the gauge wires around.
