  1. When you send a text message, you have character limits and a small, user-unfriendly keypad Computers have this wonderful thing called a 104-key keyboard, and most forums don't have limits on how many characters you can use in a single post. Imagine you drive two cars - one 3-cylinder diesel econobox and a V8 sports car. Do you rev the V8 to only 3000rpm because that's all the diesel can do? Of course not, you use the V8 to it's full potential. In case that metaphor is too complicated for you, the mobile is the econobox, the PC the V8, and the English language is power. The power is there - use it.
  2. Never had problems with Ryco or Purolator, but given that Ryco are an Australian company I doubt they're readily available in Norway. Then again, nothing wrong with going genuine.
  3. That's a KE for you, where the fuel gauge will either follow the temp gauge, constantly show empty, or just have a mind of it's own and flicker all over the place. Some success has been had with replacing the fuel sender (something in the FAQ about it? If not search, it's come up before), or just do what I did and filled it up to the top, drove no more than 500km before filling up again, and had a 20L jerry can as a backup for emergencies (ran out of fuel 3 times)
  4. But but but but the timing cover says 4A-C...
  5. A good, proper exhaust with extractors and high-flow mufflers/cats/resonators etc should not lose you power. An exhaust which is over-sized or still retains the inherent restrictions of the stock exhaust will most likely lose you some power. In short, do it right and you won't have any problems. I gained noticeable power from replacing the whole exhaust on my 7AFE.
  6. Pretty sure they align with the facelift of the whole ZZE12x range (which has more significance for the non-Sportivo models), pretty sure it just equates to different grille/headlights/other front-end stuff, nothing major. Best place to search-first-then-ask would be on TOCAU (Toyota Owners Club), a lot of the users there are Sportivo or ZZE122 owners so will easily be able to point out every difference under the sun TOCAU website
  7. 4AC SOHC, carby, non-crossflow, 8-valve lump of crap, 50-60-odd kw, found in non-Twincam AE82s, and ADM AE86s 4AF DOHC (belt-driven intake cam, slave-gear driven exhaust (maybe otherway around), carby crossflow, 16V, 75-odd kw, found in non-SX AE92s (until the change to fuel-injection
  8. Looks like it's a normal round-light KE55 grille, unless there's something I'm missing. The fact that you don't normally see them in that condition might be putting you off.
  9. That's a FWD gearbox though, the C52 (otherwise known as the Mickey Mouse, because of the two starter motor humps) is on all FWD/MRWD 4AGEs and 7AFEs.
  10. What do you mean? The parts guy was right, the FWD 4AGEs have a remote thermostat housing, mounted on top of the gearbox, as Witzl said.
  11. Emphasis on "from" Most re-sprayers will give you a cheap quote for no prep-work, same colour on top of old paint, cheap-arse paint Its when you get them to go back to bare metal/colour change, pearls etc that the price goes up big-time.
  12. Haven't been through the cross-city tunnel, but for the harbour tunnel they have signs at the beginning of the tunnel saying that there are speed cameras in there... And chances are the cop on the Old Pac did have the sign out, you just can't see it (they love playing hide-and-seek with it)
  13. Bizzarini looks like it, doing a bit of research it's obvious where the inspiration came from - founder was an engineer for both Alfa and Ferrari
  14. That front-end looks very Alfa Romeo, just with the Ferrari GTO-style grille.....
  15. I thought that grey 28 looked familiar.....I guess it gathers a bit more attention now with side-pipes and a 1GGTE.
  16. The fact that it didn't come from a mod kinda tipped me off without even looking at the sig :jamie: Quite a few other forums are having trouble lately with spammers having sigs with re-direct links in them
  17. Pretty sure I've seen that before, in the Readers Digest Book Of The Car.......can't remember name though damnit Australian micro-car of some kind, was a bucket of crap
  18. Maybe the bottom blinker isn't wired in? Blinkers go fast if there is either a blown bulb or one missing from the circuit, so trace the wiring back from the non-blinking blinker and see where that leads you. Also, why is your parker blinking? Could it possibly be that the parker and blinker wires have been crossed for that particular side? Does the indicator light up solid when you turn the parkers on?
  19. Supercharged Lycoming V8 and FWD :D and the gearbox was in front of the engine too I love Cords, thanks mainly to Mafia
  20. Easy, Cord 812
  21. 4AGE bore is 81mm 1G bore is 75mm 5k is 80.5mm Considering a 5K is a bored 4K, it would most likely be possible to bore a 4K block out to 81mm for 4AGE pistons (or just use a 5K block), but 1G pistons would a close fit for a non-bored block.
  22. I remember a Dirty Wheels article from Wheels years ago where a Falcon had a similar problem, would run fine when cold but after it warmed up it would start running rough....turned out a hair-line crack in the dizzy cap was opening up when hot and causing a cylinder to drop out, maybe a similar thing is happening with you except it is the coil lead, although you'd expect it to cut out first.
  23. Thought it looked familiar....I remember coming across the Singer Nine when looking up one of the previous cars.... It's a'34 model, the picture is used in the Wikipedia article with the caption of 1934 Singer Nine Sports...
  24. Considering it has a rev-limiter, it's next to impossible to valve-boune it unless you downshift too early.
