Why would you? You're replacing a 2.0L 4-cylinder truck engine which just happens to also be in some sports cars (and thus have a bit of performance background, albeit minimal) with a completely different 2.0L 4-cylinder van engine which makes less power. Both are cheap-as, both are rugged and reliable, both are easy to find, so why not just stick another 18R in there? Much less messing around, and you can probably pick up a runner for $50 or less.

The call was made by the video ref after the gormless on-field ref didn't notice that the touch judge (who was probably 2m behind Hayne the whole time and looking straight down the line, thus having the best seat in the house) didn't even look like ever sticking his flag up in the air indicating that Hayne had gone over the line. Regardless of whether he stepped out or not, the call should NEVER have gone to the video ref anyway - I'm all for using the video ref to judge groundings where the on-field ref can't necessarily get a good view, but there are reasons why the line judges exist, so the on-field ref or video ref don't have to review line-calls. Even after it got sent upstairs, what should have happened is that benefit of the doubt be applied, or at least throw it back downstairs as a Ref's Call (in which case the on-field would liase with the line-judge as to whether he thought it was out - the touchy later said that he thought he was in). As to "they wouldn't have won anyway", at that stage they had QLD decidely on the back foot, and would have opened up a possible 8 point lead. Points at any stage are _crucial_ in Origin, especially when you get a lead going. That no-try, combined with the stupidest penalty ever when Hayne (again) was penalised for taking Folau out of the air when he wasn't even looking or paying attention to him (Folau basically just jumped into Hayne's shoulder and fell over), both of which created QLD tries in the set few plays, were the entire reason QLD dominated the first half. And ignoring the last-minute try by QLD (wasn't a knock-on anyway) NSW were within 6 points at the 80th minute - that one try at the beginning would have been enough to level the scores even if the rest of the game played out as it did up until the siren.

I remember when they did that for Bloodhound Gang's Fire Water Burn, made the song even better that way

State Conversion Laws Information
Hiro Protagonist replied to seabiscuit's topic in Automotive Discussion
I'd take a stab at looking at whatever the equivalent to the RTA is in the ACT. 5 minutes of searching should confirm whether or not the information is there. -
Might that fog be the reason why the truck is going 60 instead of 100 in the first place? If you can't see oncoming cars until they are 10m away, even with headlights on, then there's no way in hell I'd be barrelling along at 100km/h, blissfully unaware of any road obstacles until it's way too late? Or maybe you're just exaggerating, the truck is really doing 85 and visibility is 50m instead of 10.

The Australian designed/built hatch is still going to be based off the Cruze platform, just with a lot more locally-developed stuff added (say kinda like how Commodores were based off Euro models up until the VE, just with significant local alterations)
-
I'm still trying to work out why the hell Holden decided to release the Cruze under that name - sure that's what it's called overseas, but it is a stupid name, sounds awful, and brings back memories of the fake-4WD Ignis-based Cruze that was an absolute bomb. The car may be OK (still essentially a re-badged Daewoo though), but the name will severely hamper it's possiblities of pulling Holden out of the pit.

Same thing with Chrysler, they file Chapter 11 bankruptcy which I believe is similar to calling in the administrators, in this case they got bought out by the American government and Fiat (in the case of Chrysler), and the new owners trade their way out of insolvency.

Corvettes have had transverse leaf springs at the rear since '63 (the C2), in addition to the multi-link/trailing arm setup, but they only introduced the front transverse leaf spring in '84 (the C4), and have had both since.

What Should I Put In My Gemini?
Hiro Protagonist replied to white_sandshoe's topic in Engine Conversions
It's not a Holden engine though, nor is it a Holden car - it's a rebadged Isuzu, who you'd think would have had plenty of experience with turbo diesels And here are some numbers for comparison: Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo = 101kw Ford Telstar TX5 Turbo = 100kw (initially 87kw on the first batch of unleaded) -
Home Made Rev-limiter For Carby Car
Hiro Protagonist replied to Taz_Rx's topic in General Mechanical
On the Haltech E6x we used for the FSAE car (running a Honda XBR600 F4i engine) we had a flat-shift function, gearchange (was paddle-shift with a carbon-dioxide actuator on the shift lever) would send a signal to the flat-shift input on the ECU which would cut spark, and there was a microswitch on the shift-lever to cancel it (so that the ECU knew that it had actually gone into gear) -

Unleaded fuel, a lot of the turbo cars that came out in the 80s ran like crap on unleaded (Cordia, Telstar etc) and had major power drops over Super. -
Having said that, how tall are you? And is the problem height (ie head hitting roof, or knees hitting steering wheel) or length (legs bunching up) And just bolting in another seat from another car probably won't solve your problem, chances are they'll be just as big or bigger (and Camry seats tend to be quite big and comfy, as it's a family car), it's a real luck-of-the-draw

Somethind Different - F20c Vtec In Ae82
Hiro Protagonist replied to 1988ae82rolla's topic in Automotive Discussion
I'd much prefer a neat, tidy, rust-free and healthy AE82 Twincam to just about any stock Civic, even most of the Type R's/Si's -
WGMG - people who put up a for-sale thread for a part that I really want, get to the freight-quoting stage and then communication almost completely disappears, only to get a reply a few weeks later saying they're not actually his parts and he's selling them for a mate who he gave my email address to and said he'll contact me, and then another week has gone past and no word from either of them again (despite me asking for actual seller's email address so I could speed up communication) FFS, if you want to sell something it helps if you actually reply to people who are interested in buying

I'm definitely keen for another WSID run, will be at the dyno day so that gets rid of an extra trip to Sydney. Hopefully should be in the 16s with the exhaust and intake (provided I get the flex-pipe fixed in time)

Do the Honda engines face the opposite way to the A-series as well? -

Doing a B18 would be infinitely harder due to the engine spinning the wrong way..... And if you are so much in love with a non-Twincam AE82 Seca, and would divorce your wife over it, you have serious problems dude. -

Of course they don't. What would make you think that? -
Damnit, why can't I have the money.....looking at building a 7AGE in the next year of so for the 102, but moving into a new house at the moment and can barely afford a cup of coffee, let alone an engine.

Out of curiousity, why? If the thermo-switch for the fan is operating properly and switching at the correct temperature, then there should be no need for an over-ride switch. Generally when travelling on the open road a thermofan won't be activated since there is enough airflow over the radiator for it to not be needed - it's only when the car is slow-moving or stationary and there is next to no natural airflow that the fan kicks in to boost the flow.

What Engine Fits A 99 Corolla!?
Hiro Protagonist replied to Zoognoogle's topic in Engine Conversions
Yep, all E11s in Aus came out with the 7AFE, we didn't get the ZZ engines until the E12. -
I'd say they do, because every time I do an oil change the bastards are still always full of oil, even after letting them sit for 20 minutes EDIT: quick skim of the Ryco websites seems to imply that they don't have an anti-drainback valve, rather an anti-syphon valve. Drain-back valves block the inlet on the filter so oil doesn't drain back to the sump, syphon valves block the outlet (and thus keeping pressure downstream). Both serve roughly the same function, except that the syphon valve should theoretically allow the filter to drain but keep oil downstream of it. There's a PDF about it on the Ryco website.

Wasn't this the thing that made the news about a month ago, there was the big bru-ha-ha about it and Apple released the apology and then it was all forgotten? If so, welcome to last month. -
