  1. notice i said loosen, not totally undo. do the final tightening after the struts are back in and the car is on the ground. there will always be a next time.... if the strut is out of the car, you can always use a socket, breaker bar, and big f@$king hammer to shock it loose. this works..... easier to initially loosen off before you remove the struts though.
  2. check out the ACL bearing catalog
  3. the big nut on the end of the shock shaft, is easiest to loosen off before you even jack up the car. stops it rotating on you.
  4. you need to pull off the tail gate, drop the hoodlining in the back, and then the pull both hinges out together. once you have them on the ground you can install the torsion bars. PITA.
  5. yep, pretty sure there was. what is wyldphyres? the 2 door panelvans look better. i might actually have a spare door from a ke30 2 door sedan at my parents. think it is drivers side. what side was your half stuffed tailgate hinge on? might have a passenger side one of them as well as the torque rods.
  6. i sort of think maybe some period style black GT stripes would go down well. recently i saw a 120Y sedan in the same colour. it had similar wheels to yours and black stripes down each side, going up the C-pillars and over the roof. looked shit hot. kind of strange really as normally i hate 120Y's, but this thing was really well done. maybe tiger stripe the interior or something?
  7. geez, don't get so melodramatic. hurtful? seriously, you come across as being the type who speaks their mind and doesn't give a shit what others think....why get so touchy feely all of a sudden? it should be water off a ducks back to you. i gave you full credit for compiling the FAQ. the worst thing i said was calling you the king of copy and paste. sorry i hurt your feelings. maybe i will think a little more before hitting the post button in future. probably wouldn't hurt if you did the same, you seem to like taking newbs down all the time.
  8. :) you wish......
  9. just be careful, if the hinges jam, they will bend. then you will have a big gap at the top of the rear door, and the tailgate will not close. this is what happened with Bec's ke16. we removed the torsion bars, straightened the hinges and now use broomstick technology to hold the tailgate up. a set of gas struts will find their way on one day.......

from my experience with arc welding, your welding rods should be the same thickness as the metal you are working with.
  11. LOL, superjamie the cut and past king. you mean you put it together from info you gleaned from other members on oldcorollas. no offence, full marks for putting all the info together. it is just that it is info other members from oldcorollas already contributed and jamie just put it in one place.
  12. a 180 holley is to big for a 4k. maybe ok for a 5k, but to big for a 4k. a stock carb will shit on it up to 4 grand, and get much better fuel economy.
  13. not a bad score considering what you salvaged. :D at least it will be treated nicely now. is it in your little sports car? must fly.
  14. yes yes probably the best way would to be buy a complete car with a rooted body, and raid the driveline. AFAIK the T18s, are supposed to have a very similar floorpan to an AE86. so should be very similar to an AE71/KE70. the engine xmember "may" be very similar, and be a boltin? you would have to research it more for yourself.
  15. alternatively, i guess you could do as someone has already mentioned, and buy an old gas xe/xf falcon for some of the bits???
  16. ph no. was 3202 3396 mob 0400 677 818 the Trading Book covers the ipswich, gatton, toowoomba areas.
  17. T18's had 3T engines. the early celicas had the 2Ts
  18. i have a pretty warm 5k in a little ke15. it is faster than my old worked 4k, which would eat the majority of v6 commodores and AU and earlier 6 falcons. the 5k is good, but there is a need for more power. it gets 8L/100kays on average too. a ke70 is a good 2 and a half adult passengers heavier than a ke15. i just don't understand why you wouldn't make use of the extra engine bay room in a ke70. with mine i have space constraints and need to start cutting up shit to make a larger engine fit, you guys with ke70s don't. 3Ts have way more potential than a K series. really they are just an uprighted oversized hemi headed progression, not to mention cross flow. i have heard of 7, 8, and 9 sec full house 3Ts with forced induction. never a K engine anywhere near as quick. 4ks are good for economy, but not much else. sure you can make them nifty, but power to weight is the limiting factor. a lighter car helps, if you want to have fun with them. guess it comes down to what you consider is fast enough.
  19. no idea. it would have to be checked out i guess.
  20. the gas conversion would be worth more than your average ke70. there is a second hand LPG setup in the Trading Book. $180.
  21. only problem with 4afe, is that it is like a 20v, in the fact that the dizzy hangs off the back of the head. a 2T or 3T would be better than a 4k. find a T18 for its running gear.
  22. i wouldn't waste to much cash on it seeing as your heart is set on a ke25. just drive it, while you look for something better.
  23. put some 14" steelies (RA60, tercel 14x5.5") on it with some decent 60 series tyres. at least then it might go around corners better.
  24. i just can't understand why you can't make up your own freakin mind. lucky your wearin black so your ass don't look so fat. LOL
  25. yea, the R100 and the 510 is nice.
