The adjustment bolt decided to snap off so i had to pull the whole thing out and glad i did as i found the TVIS plug hanging. All back together well it goes a lot better. Does anyone have a pic of there stock ae82 twincam alternator as mine is meant to have a AE92 smallport alternator.

Ring the wreckers today looking for a alternator bolt. Got any 4a engines around with alternators ? Yep sure do. Get there and they have NOTHING. Pricks made me drive 20 mins for nothing. :hmm:

Meh I'm over painting things for now, I just want it going again. Something fell off my car 6 weeks ago and now i know it was my alternator nut and bolt, Been driving around with no bolt holding my alternator in. Its been tight till Friday night. Going to bug Trev tomorrow for his.

Wheel offset has a major play in suspension handling, Unsprung weight is a huge thing too. More positive offset = Flat fwd style, less track. Less positive offset to Negative offset = Rwd style, generally more track, wider wheel choice. You will need to find what suits you best.

Same seal i think. If there is bad scoring you might need a sleeve so the surfaces are smooth. Light scoring is ok. If you want a rebuild add my too msn rotarydudeATaaptDOTnetDOTau

Rear main seal is easy to change but there might be scoring which makes things difficult. When your driving down a hill or a slight decline does it blow blue/white smoke when you back off and keep coasting ? If you go on the cruise tomorrow i will talk to you about it then. Des :)

I got my 4AGE head done about 2 months ago or so. Cost me $640 with new valves, New everything and no welding was needed. $250 Sounds a bit cheap to me. Are they doing valve stem seals, Re grinding valve seats, Crack testing, Vacuum test the valves etc ?

The only oils i know that can be put into some thing else safely is if you have red power steering oil you can use red automatic fluid, Same shit different label and price.

Oils ain't oils. LSD oil can be put into a open center and be fine but you cannot put normal gear oil into a LSD, Wont last as long as it should. I'm not sure of the difference between Limslip oil and normal gear oil, I think Limslip oil doesn't break down as easy ? It's not worth the risk, Just get a mate to pick up a 1 litre bottle on their way over.

205's are pretty big for a ae92. Whats the width and offset of your rims ? I'm running 15x6 on my ae82 twincam with 195/50/r15 and they are close to the struts but not touching, Offset of mine is +40.
