  1. I seriously think it is something rollaclub should look into. ask the president of another car club how to go about it, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help out. You gotta start somewhere, and there's soo many nice classic cars out there that don't get driven every day, and their owners are paying normal rego costs when they could be paying a whole lot less for the same amount of driving they do. Cheers, KJ :-)
  2. It is really not that hard to become a member of the federation of historical motoring clubs. There's just a lot of paperwork to do, but once it's all done, the benifits are amazing, and historic vehicle rego is just one of the advantages of being a registered car club. I'd be really keen to see rollaclub heading in this direction. KJ.
  3. This sounds like a good day to support Will Rollaclub be getting together at the event? I think it will be a good idea! KJ :-)
  4. Well it's the new year, and this project is definately on the top of my list! I have been told by a few people that if I get a longer Throtle cable (around 55-60") that it should be sufficient to go around to the other side of the carby and connect the throtle that way, otherwise I am out of idea's as to how to fit the weber. Has anyone got pics of a weber side draught fitted to a 3-4-5K that I can have a look at so I can see how you did it? Cheers, KJ :-)
  5. Book your car into the exhaust shop and when you know what day they can do it, let me know and we'll organise to get your extractors fitted at Mates Rates the day before hand, so your not driving round with a half finished exhaust for too long! It's exciting to see how it all turns out! KJ :-)
  6. Ahh yes but that's what windows are for! Yeah I'm still in for the beach idea! KJ :-)
  7. yeah your probably right. It would still be cool though, specially in summer! KJ :-)
  8. down at the beach somewhere would be awesome! Semaphore or somewhere! KJ :-)
  9. Yeah I'm up for it! KJ :-)
  10. ok, so I can make up my own bracket - yeah that's not a problem, but next question is: what dimensions should it be, how does it fit etc.. etc..?? Does anyone have pics of a DCOE carby that they have fitted to a 3K/4K and pics of the brackets that they have made up? Let me know! Cheers, KJ :-)
  11. LOL Sounds like you've got it all sorted! I'm definately in if the RC display is a goer! KJ :-)
  12. okay, and where do you rekon I can get a bracket to hold the cable from? I have been doing a bit of searching on google and some e-bay shop had linkage kits for datsun.. not sure if they'd fit corolla too? They're not cheap for a bunch of metal brackets though and I don't know if I'm going to need all of the bits. The carby came of a Cordia and it's setup different. the throttle linkage hits on the manifold atm. Are there any easier ways to mount it? KJ :-)
  13. I am trying to fit my Webber DCOE carby to my 4K, but the throttle cable doesn't match up. the linkage hits on the manifold and it's on the wrong side. Iwould like to know how others have fitted webbers to their 3-4K's and if there are any bracket kits available or do I have to custom make something up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers, KJ :-)
  14. Is there a chance we can send in pics of our cars from our own previous photo shoots for the calendar, incase we can't make it on this day? Incase I do rock up on the day, since you said the photo shoot is in the Barossa Area, is there a chance I can meet you at the photo shoot location - since I live in the Barossa Region? Cheers, KJ :-)
  15. Sounds good! I like the topic heading! lol "Toyota Corolla Show N Shine November 16th, plenty of time to figure out every thing n plane how to get there" I might take a "plane" instead of my corolla :fuzz:
  16. I am still kicking myself for letting that overrated dash go, but hey, it's good to see it's gone to a good home! ;)
  17. But it's an afternoon though.. does that suit Bianca? I am up for it! Thanks for taking the initiative! KJ :-)
  18. Well said!! But yeah it's hard to find a day/time when majority of people are available.. I guess just putting it out there early enough gives people time to change their schedule to make themselves available.. And I don't think there's anywhere these days that you can cruise without seeing cops somewhere. KJ :-)
  19. The Victor Harbour Cruise last year was fantastic, We should definately do something like that again! There were 7 or 8 people (from memory) which was an ok number! I also liked the fact that it was a Saturday day - now I know that cuts some people out for work, and maybe Victor harbour is a bit far for some people to cruise to atm with the way pettie is going, but there was bugger all cops on that cruise, caus heaps of people take day trips to Victor Harbour anyway! Whatever is organises, if it's done early enough and promoted properly, then people have plenty of time to keep a date free, save up pettie $$, and tell their friends, and it's going to be a much more exciting day with a much bigger turnout than these "Lets meet next saturday night, I'm free" cruises. If someone's keen to do the initial organising, I'll be in on it - I'll encourage the 5 or so corolla enthusiests from the Barossa to come along! Cheers, KJ :-)
  20. HAHA that's an interesting point, however I see beauty regardless of others different views! :-)
  21. Haha, stock as a rock KE50's may look a little.. um.. I guess I could say.. "different" But trust me, with some simple mods, they are a one-of-a-kind amazing corolla creation! Back me up here Jon lol! KJ :-)
  22. If I could choose out of any of your cars mate, u know it'd be the KE50! Pics of my KE50 going up shortly! KJ :-)
  23. Thanks mate! Well I always wanted a wagon or panelvan as my next corolla, caus I do Mobile DJ'ing and there's not a lot of room for PA gear in the 2 door, not to mention trying to get gear into the back seat! But we have another car that we use for DJ'ing, so it's not the end of the world! Plus, as soon as I started driving this car, I fell in love with it - so the only way I'll get rid of it is if I find a good wagon or panelvan! KJ :-)
  24. Hey all, well it's the first time I've posted in here! The last time I attempted to post up pics of my ride, it was giving me trouble! I have a KE30 2 door, which my uncle found for me in his neighbours yard!! My uncle bought it off his neighbour for next to nothing, and then I got it off my uncle and traded him an old car stereo of mine (CD Stacker and head unit)!! Yes, a stereo that is worth about $80 on E-bay (which doesn't play MP3 CD's) was my payment for this beast! Best of all, my uncle that wanted the stereo doesn't even have a computer and doesn't know what MP3 CD's are, so it was a perfect deal! The car was sitting around for 6 months in my uncles neighbours yard, so it hadn't been run for a while. My Uncles neighbour bought a new Subaru wagon thing and instead of selling the corolla straight away, they just left it sit there until my uncle bought it off them! After I got it off my uncle, I did the once-over and made sure it was all legal and everything worked! Then I took it down to Services SA to get it registered! I noticed something interesting on the rego papers, in the Engine Number Section, it said 5K####### I thought.. 5K motor? Hmmmm that would be a bonus, and sure enough.. I found out It does have a 5K in, when I brought it home and popped the bonnet to have a decent look at the engine number and see if it matched the papers and yep it's a 5K alright! Next bonus was the gearbox, after my first drive home I only took 60Km/h roads, so I only got as far as 4th gear, but when cruising on the highway on my second trip, I found it it's actually a 5 Speed!!! Then I found out that the little things on the car like the driving lights and air horns actually worked!! And the Dash has been customised with a Tacho (where the clock used to be), a custom centre consol (with a clock inbuilt.. That works too!) and seperate volts and oil pressure gauges! The Fuel and temp gauges work like a charm (first corolla I have had where I haven't had trouble with the fuel and temp gauges) The roof is carpeted, has an old-skool pioneer stereo with Pioneer 6x9's that also work, and even has 2 Mag Wheels on front with near new tyres! Now to the negatives: It has been resprayed in Green from the origional mustard colour the paint is peeling in areas and has some surface rust, but thankfully there's no major body rust or dents, so with a full rub down and re-spray, it should be an awesome looking 2 door! Pics:
  25. This avo at around 20 to 5 I spotted a Cream/patchy white coloured KE20 / KE25 on Main North Rd near Salisbury.. P Plates.. KJ :-)
