  1. thats acutally incorrect the "RA29" posted there is infact an RA35 (ra28 with 5km/h bumpers), however i stand corrected the ra24, the only difference between it and the RA23 is the longer bonnet, bigger indicators and ghey bumpers, i don't believe it constitues a different chassis code, as it is an RA23 with different guards, in the same way a long nose ta22 is the same chassis as a short nose 22 they don't call that a ta23 do they;) and what i mean was yanks never got a T engine delivered in a celica
  2. no there was no RA24 and certainly no TA24 and as someone pointed out there is no 2L t series engine, also no ra29 i think you will find that it is a typo on one of the ghey google websites you visited for this misinformation the US NEVER got a T series engine delivered, their models were the ra20/21 (the latter f@$king ugly) then ra23/28 then the 35 (ra28 with 5km/h bumpers standard and more emissions) basically don't bother with it, its gonna be a f@$k around and if its an 18rc then it is likely your farts are going to have more power

  4. an XC landau 351 clevo, C4 auto, 9in locker, looked factory as still had the vinyl roof, then the next fastest would be a certain 1g KE70 :)
  5. if you are going to go 4age, its not as easy as it sounds (trust me I'm doing it at the moment), 1, you need custom mounts, 2, you need sprinter bellhousing/gearbox (the front bearing seals are different, however there is a way around this), 3, need to make new tailshaft and 4, have to get the bastard running :) i would really recommend not working a 3tc/2tc they really are poo the G heads are somewhat better, but they are still old engines and hard to get bits for and don't got 20v most over rated engine ever ;) edit: i thought i should add re brakes, you should consider the rona/pug/hilux upgrade, corona strut,(rt132/xt130), peugot 604 disk (rda272) and hilux/landcruiser caliper (ln106/ln130) (4 pistons FTW!) as well as a late model camry master cylinder 2003-2006 i think (15/16th bore= you stop quick)
  6. i wasnt aware wild pigs were verbs :wink: seriously dude i would advise against spending money on a t series engine cos they are crap (the sohc are anyway) id recomend getting onto the classic celica thread on toymods or have a look a few peoples members ride threads, cos the 2t and 3t really arent that fantastic and at this age they come standard with alot of carbon in the head and blowby. look for a 2tg although these are getting harder to find and you don't need engineering because they were a factory option (gt/gtv) and nissan man is right sure you can bore the mofo out to nearly 2L but without sleaves things get risky same goes for forgies don't really need em unless you are ramming a mcf@$k load of boost into it(or you can get em hell cheap)
  7. the earlier 2t block is a different casting and requires the removal of some material for the 3t crank to be able to go round n round

  9. take it to an exhaust place and get em to weld a plate on there, cost ya 50 bucks at the most
  10. ive had someone call my celica a datsun, i was like WTF? that looks nothing like a datsun, ive also had people ask if i have a rotor in it, the old 2t sounded like one on start up

  15. i got looks from everyone, in the celica, its low its black and sounds remotely like a rotor, well it did, should sound alot better with my quads and a well designed set of extractors
  16. if you read any of my posts you will see that the celica t50 WILL mate to a 4A bellhousing with NO issues, and there is NO difference in the input splines like some seem to think, and AFIAK the t50 and t40 are the same length as they were interchanged in the LT and ET celicas

  18. mmmk i see your point it just gives me the shits when people present the wrong information, and more importantly don't search, i spend more time reading than posting, if everyone did this then there wouldnt be pissed off-ness coming from this camp i mean not 3 days ago another wookie posted the same thing on toymods here and ae86dc, and if they had searched they would know, how else do i know? cos i searched, its all been covered before
  19. my bad, early has 20 and latter has 22 the te72 however has the early 20 spline, but as you can all see here aside from a typo i am infact correct
  20. ill let the pictures do the talking, now we are all mature adults, count them, then give my my apology 1 20v silvertop and 1 celica t50 1 20v clutch and 1 t50 input spline and styler i STRONGLY suggest you do more research, this maybe my 40th post here, but i have substantially more on a more reputable tech forum and do you all seriously think i would undertake a conversion that hasnt been done before (out side of a workshop) without doing some research? edit* perhaps you are having the tantrum? you seem to be rejecting all rationality oh and i shall reitterate the ONLY difference in the boxes is the output splines the earlier having 20 and the latter (ae86 and 71 ONLY TE72 has 20)

  23. ..... why would i need to replace the clutch? the 20v clutch disk fits snugly on the input shaft and happens to have a shiteload of material left on it. why the hell would i need to replace my gearbox? its not gonna be getting a thrashing and its not gonna leak from the front seal, many a person has used the celica t50 behind a 4age in a 22 my suggestion for you olskool is to search, here, google, toymods and ae86dc to get the correct info, cos its quite clear that people have very little idea of what they are talking about I'm gonna leave it at this
  24. that is absolute bs dude they are EXACLY the same box (except output shaft) the front seal will not need replacement every month, i have compared the standard 2t and 4a bellhousings and the rear mounting surface is EXACTLY the same well its clear you don't know at all, cos its 20 and 22 spline, and that is the OUTPUT shaft. clutch plate slines are the same i have a fuking celica t50 hanging off my 20v go figure dude? and again the 20 spline is the same strenght as a f@$kin 22 spline. those last 2 lines of your post are also bullshit, as is most of the information in this thread, in your whole post there are only 4 points that make sense and they are bellhousings are different ta22 / ae86 / t18 t18 has different bellhousing to celica as in piviot point is different i found out adm and jdm bellhousings, starter or slave swap sides or both swap bellhousings and shifter housings are interchangable /rant
