I think its a KP61 starlet. Originally came out with K series motors if i'm not mistaken...

I just got an email from a mate in townsville. He has a friend there who claims he will be buying the sprinter for around 2K and driving it back. I could be wrong but wont that go for a fair amount above 2K?

I must say it looks rancid. Props to him for having the patience to do the job though...

I agree with love KE70. Something sh1t was taken made even sh1ttier. Its just not right....

Yeah james, got the konis on ebay. Tenyearguarantee was bidding on them too. He told me just after i won them i was now his mortal enemy, haha... I now have all the suspension reset just waiting to go back in. The guy did what i said he would in my first post. Rang him for the price and got told $260, he did it for a neat $200 cash. Decided to pull my diff and paint it matt black to match the suspension or it will look out of place. If i pull my finger out this weekend and get it all back in i'll throw some pics up....

I agree with Mr Hardware, i just don't see it becoming a big thing. If you want poke buy a GTI if you want economy buy the diesel. I just don't see too many people going for the mix of both. A mate of mine is a service adviser for VW and is always bringing cars home. He had a polo not long ago. We pulled out onto the road and he gave it a good squirt. I said 'so what's this, 1.4 petrol' and he replies with, 'no 1.4 diesel'. Now i must admit i havent driven or been in diesels since my old mans early 90's hilux but the polo pulled nicely and was so quiet. I was rather disappointed by the power delivery of the 4cyl turbo pasat. I guess after all, it isn't meant to be driven in a spirtited manner.

Instead of starting a new thread i thought i would post here. If anyone has any pictures of old toyota dealer sticker or logos could they post them up. I've just spent an hour or so looking and came up empty handed...

Mate your best bet is to ring them or get to an agent for rare spares and have them ring. I got a price off their website for a full KE10 rubber kit at $726 which i thought was reasonable. I went to one of their agents and he rang them and asked about a certain part of the kit i wasnt sure about. Turns out the kit now has more stuff in it and is only $540.

Yeah i remember reading about those a long time ago. Any motor has gotta be better than the dirty old 202. Whoops didnt think that through, the 253 isnt better...

Throw some pics up mate. You can see from looking at mine its seen better days. Hopefully, some time soon i'll be able to show some in a much tidier state.

Previous to my current celsior and KE10 i owned a 94 180SX. Pushed 300 RWHP when i had it. It went to 340 RWHP with the next owner with just a fuel pressure regulator and a tune...

Ke30 Front Struts And Brakes Into Ke10
mattress replied to Davros El Davros's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Yeah mate i have looked at throwing in later model struts but it really is a lot of stuffing about. You could use a different 'plate' (don't know part name) to bolt the strut to the balljoint but its going to add some positive camber.... -
Interesting.... I pulled some struts from a KE20 in a local wrecker and the coil is wider by a good half inch or more. Maybe they were transplanted from elsewhere at some stage.... I've got some NOS koni adjustables going in the front and in the rear i found basically new KYB's and new bushes. James, what do you mean by top hat? Can anybody give me some measurements on how wide their KE20 springs are? Also, does anybody know of a similar rubber bush that will fit the little flat bar in the control arm that the transverse leaf rests on?
-
Can you give me a little more info jamesrolla? I looked into using KE20 springs but seeing as they are wider i didnt bother. The only way i can see to do it is to cut the 'seat' from the 20 strut and weld it to the 10 strut but then the top is too small and to use the 20 strut top you have to modify your bolt holes in the strut tower... Is that how you did it?

Haha, come on mate i won those shocks fair and square...

Ok guys the first thing i decided to sort out while rebuilding my KE10 is the suspension. Maybe a dumb idea but anyway its been started so theres no stopping now. I recently spotted a guy in town (only other KE10 i know of where i live) and had a big chat to him about his car. He recommended i didnt go any lower than 30mm all round. He said he has removed a leaf from his transverse leaf and his shocks bottom out at 30mm lower than standard. He also told me to have the eyes on my rear leaves rolled underneath and reset so the spring wont sit so flat, not a bad idea. Today i took my stuff and dropped it at a local spring works. I had a quick convo with the guy as he was busy. We came up with the following, add a leaf to the transverse leaf and lower it 1.5 inches, remove the 'slapper bar' somebody put in the top of my rear packs and put it at the bottom and lower it 2 inches. He said i shouldnt do anything with the coils in the front until i have the transverse leaf in and see how it looks as the front coils are puny and don't do much. I'm now having second thoughts. Does anyone think the front may now be too stiff with an extra leaf in? Does anyone else recommend not to go lower than 30mm? Has anyone had their KE10 leaves reset professionally, what did you do and what were the results?

I may be interested in some for a KE10 depending on price. Does anyone know of anybody here that has done it?
-
I can't say i go too much on those crappy plastic vents either. If they were chrome then maybe. The black one is in for me too. I have contemplated going the rat look on my KE10 but decided to try and keep it nice and crisp in white...

Nice find that, i didnt know corolla meant crown of flowers...

My first memorable experience in a rolla was when i was in grade 12 (about 6 years ago). A mate had an older friend who was on his way to pick us up cause we had been drinking. What turned up was an immaculate orange KE10 with a heavily worked 4K. I so badly hate orange but that car was hot and quite quick for what it was. I'm still trying to track this guy down in my local area to see if he has anything for me....
-
Nah, i say go your hardest....

Yeah i was gonna have a chat to ya OKE055. You were on the grid but moved up near the start and i didnt wanna ruin your concentration so i didnt. See you driving in TBAR a bit too... Seeing that i own a celsior and am a member of the AUSVIP forum i see the owner of that red/pink crown on there regularly. The majority of the guys on there love that car and the whole 'VIP' styling. I prefer the saying 'less is more'....

I think the jamboree gets worse and worse every year. Very few show cars there this year which was dissapointing. I'll have to agree with LOVE KE70. The wobbly asses were a little wild and the majority of promo girls were just horrid. I'll sort through my photos and see if there is anything worthwhile...

Instead of starting a new topic i thought i would ask here. Which K50 gives the furtherest back position? I have a 4K in a KE10 and want to change to a 5 speed. The current stick position is rather a long way forward and i would like it back somewhat. Any info is appreciated...

I was supposed to be going down friday with a mate of mine who has hired a shed and is camping there the whole weekend. Sadly i have to work friday but will surely make it down, most likely saturday. Hopefully i'll go for a track run with him. The car is a purple R100, plates 69 UFO has featured once or twice in magazines...
