  1. As far as i'm aware they are different. I remember reading that somewhere here, that's why i went to so much trouble to find a 5 speed shifter. Though i could be wrong and may have wasted my time...
  2. I would possibly be keen for some gear for my KE10 also...
  3. Maybe i shouldn't say this but a mate had a tiara in reasonable condition that served well for many years as a paddock basher...
  4. Might be a lack of auto fluid?
  5. Coilovers look the goods. Might be the go for my KE10. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of money did you pay for the kit? How do they mount? Chop the lower spring seat off the original strut and weld on the sleeve for the kit?
  6. Well i guess its like calling a skyline GTST a GTR....
  7. I think the above would look much much better like this. 1977 Mazda 929 Wagon Other than that looks very tidy...
  8. Kexxxclub:I probably would'nt even take $1000 for them. I know they arent worth $1000 but where am i going to find a brand new set again? I guess i was joking because i knew nobody would pay that for them. That's the reason i said it though, i really don't want to sell them.
  9. Some people obviously have no idea of the cost of things. Then again i think some people pay way too much for things too. I have 2 sets of new lenses for a KE10 which i payed decent money for. On the odd occasion i get a pm saying " i'll give you $50 or $100 for a spare set of your lenses". I politely tell them i don't really want to sell but it would take a lot more than that for me to let them go.
  10. I really don't know what to say....
  11. Toyofancy, can you tell me what is so wrong with the rare spares kit? I was planning to go through them for my rubbers but will go elsewhere if they are that bad. It's hard to make sense of any of this. In this topic as well as a few others some people loved the thailand ebay items, some hated them. Some people love the rare spares gear and some hate it. I think i'll draw a name out of a hat...
  12. Booooo :y: Double boooo :y:
  13. I see you had one for sale on ebay not long ago. Did that one not fit?
  14. I got a set of NOS Koni's to suit a KE10 off ebay some time ago. I've put them in the car but i'm still not really any closer to driving on them. Maybe i'll have to make a call to Koni to see if they are a shorter stroke item or not and if down the track they could rebuild them. Being Koni its a reasonable assumption to make that they are shorter stroke, isn't it?
  15. I read specs somewhere not long ago that put the KE10 at 690KG. I guess you're going to have to get the figure the engineer is actually going to use...
  16. Car has officially hit the panel beater. The quote from this buisness was much less than the quote i got from elsewhere. He does excellent work and is very very thorough. Now i just have to wait. Perhaps it's time to start rebuilding my K-B twin carbs and ready some other gear. The carbs scare me a bit though...
  17. The problem with quoting a 70-74 corolla is that even though the KE11 was made in 1970 and shares it's suspension with the KE10, when most people, books or catalogues quote a 1970 corolla they mean the KE20....
  18. I have a topic somewhere where i bought a master cylinder on ebay from the states. Looks the part and is a twin cylinder but may be a bit expensive for some. Just another idea for you...
  19. I saw an oval K-B element in my travels not long ago. I can't remember where i saw it but if i find it I'll let you know. It's of no use to me as my twins didn't come with the filter housing.....
  20. I'm getting ready to take my KE10 to the panel beater to have some work done. While pushing it around i could hear the shoes scraping on the drum on the passenger side rear. I had a bit of trouble getting the drum off as ones of the shoes was pressing on it. I've tried to push the adjuster around with a screwdriver, even given the screwdriver a tap with a hammer but can't move it. Does that mean it's seized and i have to replace it or is there some other method of freeing it up? For the moment i just released the springs holding the offending shoe in and removed it. Any help is appreciated, Matt...
  21. Progress is slow, painfully slow. Car was blasted and etch primed on the weekend ready to be delivered to the panel beater.
  22. One place i dealt with p1ssed me off on numerous occasions. The first time i asked the owner if he had any KE20's, he said no while he was standing not 2 meters from one. I then inquired about a price for the front hubs. He told me he wasn't going to pull the car apart and it was mine for $500. I don't think the car had a panel that didn't have a cricket ball sized rust hole in it. On another occasion i was after some 4 x 110 mazda van rims. Upon my first request he said he had some on a van and would get them off. After calling in twice a week for 2 months i told him in no uncertain terms that i would stand there and wait till he had them off. Lucky i was doing all this on work time or i would be mighty angry...
  23. I'm having a bit of trouble stripping the doors of my KE10 before the bead blaster gets a hold of them. I've removed basically everything except for the quarter glass and track which is what i'm having trouble with. I'm trying to remove the quarter glass and track out through where the window winds up and down ie. the not so wide slot. The threaded rod on the end of the track is getting stuck and won't come through. Do i just force it through and bend the door apart a little or is there some of trick to it? Any help is much appreciated, Matt...
  24. Mate i see your in brisbane. Are you planning on going flappers, real whitewalls or the add on type whitewalls? If going the real whitewall type where are you getting them? Car is looking good...
  25. I try not to think about that conversion....
