  1. Hi all. Got a question to the experienced ke1x freaks as I`m thinking about getting one. Do they have any common weaknesses to look out for? Have read that the steeringboxes arn`t the best. Are these interchangeable with ke2x ,ke3x items? :P Thanks in advance. Tor
  2. Interesting. Just wondering, is the w50 input shaft bigger than t-series as well ? If same, there are clutches that will fit. And what is inside diameter of w50 bearing carrier ?
  3. If the are realy stuck, find a greasenippel that fits, and pump it out with a greasegun. Careful though. When the piston comes loose , its like a projectile. No fingers in front of ...
  4. On your figures, it looks like you are getting confused by millimeters and thousands of an inch. :D Any idea how small 0.020 mm is ? And how large 0.020" is ? Just a tip : Make sure you are using the right feeler gauge, and if your given measurement is for hot or cold engine.
  5. Have seen at least 4 different grills for ke30 but never a chrome one.
  6. The only corona motor that I know of , that will be a straight bolt in convertion, is the 5k from the kt147 Its no 2 liter but a good easy uppgrade.
  7. Realy like it ! Does the aqua damn it have a coulor code ? Never seen a Toyota with anything similar.
  8. Looks great! What do you mean "slow"? Hasen`t even been 3 years yet. :S
  9. don't know which is strongest but guessing for big bearing ones. There was probably a reason for toyota to change them. They are all old worn gearboxes now anyway, but one from a 2t powered carina would most likely have had an easyer life than one from a thrashed 4age ae86. Some of the celica t50 have the shifter pos k70 style as well. My 76box does, so look out. If you use an early box , you can use your old 20 spline driveshaft. Big bearing boxes have 22 splines on outgoing shaft . T50s are not much bigger than a k40. "Gearbox" part of it is a bit longer so if your ke10 tunnel doesn`t become narrow just before shifter pos. it should fit.
  10. Yes. mine is a hydraulic one and suits the late big bearing t50 (ae86 ta60 ) One from a early ke35 would fit a early small bearing t50 ( ta22 ) http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.p...p;highlight=t50
  11. Took a couple of photos of my k to t for comparing.
  12. K to T bellhousings from early ke35 ( pre mid76 ) t50 came with wire clutch. The one in the photo might be one of those, as it does not have a raised stand for the pivotball just inside the forkhole, like mine does . Also , the forkhole is in slightly different position and I don't have the sqare hole on the top. I belive mine is out of a ke74, but will never know for sure.
  13. I don't know what it`s for but definatly not a t50. They have 7 bolt holes on flange.
  14. Easy on the beer ;) don't want to have a hangover when you find out that your 7k is taller than your 3k. There is a chance the extractors will hit the floor as they will be mounted higher.
  15. Three more for you. 3k-h :25 4k : 72 4k : 81 Seems a bit random.
  16. It makes sense that there is no te24-29 with r engines ,but a lot of yank corolla owners are going to be pissed off when they find out their engine doesn`t exsist. Still it will be nothing compared to the proud celica ra24-ra29 owners disapointment ,when they find out their love and joy was just their imagination. http://www.classic-celica.com/modules.php?...pic&t=11534 Not that it is in any way topic related , but I recived one of those not existing k to t bellhousings from NZ on saturday. :y:
  17. What is the cheapest solution for you, depends on what you can get hold of. If your ke70 is in good condition ,apart from the engine, and worth keeping , you could look for a rotten(rusted) te7x-ae7x donor car with a good engine -gearbox. You would then have all the parts needed for a conversion. Other options are finding a 4k and moding it (plenty info on that in FAQ) or finding 5k. By keeping it "k" you wont have to mess around with the drivetrain. It would be interesting to know what engine you were offered and what car it came out of.
  18. Looks like the ta24 and the ta29 were us models and came with the 2.2 liter R20 engines.
  19. Get your point but Stock 2 liter T series. Which one is that ?
  20. If it`s a 18r or18r-u I wouln`t consider doing it unless you got a trailer "welded" to your rear end. They got torque ,but are heavy workhorses. If it`s a 18rgu twin cam it could be fun but don't think it will be for free. You will need a diffrent gearbox , driveshaft, diff, enginemounts and you will probably have to do someting about brakes and suspension. Then comes the job of making it legal..... :kiwi: If you still want to do it, the best of luck to you. If you are looking for a cheap, easy replacement , my advice is to look for a K series.
  21. The 3a is 1452cc It could be out of a mid 80s tercel and svc could mean swirl control valve.
  22. Is this what your looking for ? http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=674
  23. Toycrash has a great thread on toymods about oil leak issues with small bearing t50 (old type) when used on A-bellhousing. A -bellhousing is meant for big bearing t50 but can be adapted. http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.p...p;highlight=t50 Best - only explenation I have seen so far.
