  5. Catastrophic Failure, come on people, are you the same people who didnt like efi so much that we missed out on some great efi engines in this country. It definately has more to do with the state of your motor, than the tuning. How come all these 9 second drag skylines and supras run aftermarket ecus? They have an agressive tune for sure but the don't blow up because they are usually fully rebuilt engines. Very good point brad. We all know you can be too agressive with tuning, its very tempting, but its the same as winding the boost up, we know our motors have limits, don't we? You can just use a fairly mild tune an daily drive the car, how is it any worse than a standard ecu?
  6. Weezer - Buddy Holly Kool Keith - Anything from the Matthew album Tortoise - Tin Cans and Twine
  7. Oh Finally, the holy sprit rises from the garage. Allow me to quote from the allegded Prophetic Website, the Elijah list: Word of the Lord Spoken on October 14, 2006: The Lord spoke to us this past weekend as we celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles and He said: "Plant your feet! Ready yourself for change! You are entering a year of shaking and quaking! This year will be known as the Year of the Holy Spirit! http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/4628

  11. I should never have told you i liked these, you cut my grass. Nah, good luck with it bro. Just don't put the motor i want in it or ill nick it! Matt :kiwi:
  12. So I think we all agree really, it seems that communication is both the problem and the solution. Irony, huh? I really think its healthy for us to be able to self examine like we are doing, and makes me a little prouder that I'm part of this club. Matt
  13. Fair call. Yes I was bored today, i think i was helpful in general though. I did start this thread though so of course I'm keen to see peoples responses.
  14. Thanks for your response, its healthy to have both sides of the issue represented. Rest assured, i appreciate the work that goes into moderating this ever growing site.
  15. id say firstly make sure your tie rods and ends are smooth and not too worn, then check the steering rack. You should be able to check the play in the rack by grabbing one of the rods and puling it left right. I had a shocker of a rack in my 71 when i bought it. Its a pain to change too. You will need to wd40 the clamp on the end of the steering column and then beat it off. I used a dumbell on mine with a hammer. There are also 2 clamp positions on the rack itself. Good luck. Any more ideas anyone?
  16. Not sure but ive heard they are structural in the formula atlantic chassis, as in the motor is part of the chassis, and the cam covers are part of that, hence their size and billet look.
  17. You can still buy them from hasselgren, check the main page of that site for prices.
  18. Yeah its awesome hey. Notable absence of torque figures...
  19. Yeah i realise that not just ae86s' are sprinters. Youd have to assume though really. More info please mate!!
  20. Now that is why i posted, i feel so validated right now. Exact same reason i wanted to post. I hope many of the members in the forum enjoy this page.
  21. Ill agree, some of us are just far too cool if our responses are anything to go by. Its like a big pissing contest sometimes. Not often but occasionally the mods get involved too, which to me seems very counterproductive. You get a very helpless and frustrated feeling when a moderator is into you and locking you out. It would be more professional if sometimes the mods just locked a thread and deleted it, rather than putting in their opinion, then locking out all the other people from replying, without deleting the thread. You can't stifle other peoples points of view, whether you have mod powers or not. Lets all work together. If you can't say anything constructive you have nothing to say. If you believe a thread is not speaking of matters within the law then it should be deleted. There is no need to weigh into the debate and then lock out all other points of view. Very destructive behaviour. Its the classic question to do with authority, 'Who polices the police'? Mods, i don't intend this as a personal attack. It is not that at all. I hope we all can develop the ability to introspect. My opinion, feel free to disagree. How long till this thread is locked? 5, 4, 3, 2, .......
  22. Uh, maybe its there for people who havent seen it.... Seriously valid reply. Wow.
  23. Look at this awesome sprinter! http://www.hasselgren.com/drift.htm
  24. Just wondering... Why do u want to ditch the sprinter and go to a front wheel drive car? I know which i'd prefer. Its pretty easy to put a 20valve twinky in ya sprinter, if its an ae86 that is... Matt
