  1. At first glance i thought nsw were playing really dirty, but after a rewatch I now realise that they just did what we did to them in the first 2. No worries soulsearcher, anytime.
  2. I think you could say the same thing about the datsu.., sorry nissan motors, couldnt you? 4ages love boost, if you lower the compression a little. 4ages are only expensive if you are on the dole, lol. Try and buy a ITB setup for any other motor and it will cost more than silvertop, in almost all cases. Its a very personal choice. Don't forget to see whats legal in your state, or you may flush all your money down the dunny in the end. don't buy parts for a 4age, if you manage to kill one, swap it for another from the importers and part out the dead one. It will cost you 2-4 hundred a motor!
  3. Did you torch it? Just noticed its actually a spirit. Tell us what happened, mate.
  4. Another 4age vote. I believe in keeping the DNA 100% Toyota.
  5. If possible id try to not breach the bonnet. Not because of rain getting in, as a small amount of water passing through the motor wont hurt it, may even help with some aspects of combustion. More so because the cops will want to pop the bonnet. Des' idea is good, if its possible for you.
  6. Lyrics Born - Always fine tuning Lateef the truth speaker - The wreckoning Anything by Biz Markie, especially just a friend, or whatever its called. Nothing funnier than a fat Black rapper, dressed like mozart pretending to get loose on a piano.
  7. Yes, Bells tackle was amazing, especially on a much bigger man. It was an all around heroic effort by queensland, and more of an embarrasing comedy of errors for new south, but they got the job done in the end.
  8. http://www.mininova.org/tor/779090 You could DL it.
  9. I gaze into my crystal ball, and I can see that there will be some new and improved parts going in this car soon. can't wait, Mate!
  10. That is definately a unique ke70. I know some people will be gagging looking at it, but i reckon that front bar is great on the car. In my opinion if you tossed the wing and bonnet and painted it a more subtle colour, it would transform the look of the car. What are the specifics of the bar and how you fitted it, if you don't mind sharing? Anyhow, welcome to rollaclub, and I look forward to this being another fantastic DIY project, to rival SamQs efforts.
  11. Wow dude that wagon is not my favourite car at all. I see your gonna run lowering blocks too, so why don't you buy the correct springs as I'm uber cool and like to lecture people who really don't need to hear it. Anyhow, best of luck with your build and I'm looking forward to bagging anything you do in future. Peace. :)
  12. I do realise that someone has thought of clear timing covers of course. What you may not have grasped is that Brads idea was to make his own.
  13. Try talking to beerhead. He had this idea a while ago and has access to a rather interesting plastic moulding device.
  14. lol. Just what i was thinking. This is a great build. Well done to you.
  15. I'm going to weigh into this debate. It would be a car with blistering straight line performance. If you are going to do it, cut the shit out of the firewall, to keep the balance of the car. There is really no way around the massive handling issues you will create, aside from repositioning the weight, or doing the unthinkable and ballasting the rear till it balances. What is the purpose of this car, purely drift? Drag? Obviously it wont be street legal. 1Uzs arent that heavy, are inexpensive for how much motor you get, and produce impressive power and torque. I say do it. But please do it in a fashion that will leave the car balancd and able to be appreciated. Have you seen where the starter motor sits on a 1UZ. Toyota claims 6hrs service time to change it. What gearbox will you use. If you are dragging you could keep the factory auto for a while.
  16. Id definately shoot for the vvti version, to quote wiki, which is not necessarily correct.. "The 1MZ-FE with VVT-i is used in the Avalon, Highlander and Camry. Output is 210 hp (172 kW) at 5800 RPM with 222 lb·ft (328 N·m) of torque at 4400 RPM." "The 1MZ-FE is a 3.0 L (2994 cc) engine. Bore is 87.5 mm and stroke is 83 mm. Output is 168-190 hp @ 5200-5400 RPM with 183-193 lb·ft of torque at 4400 RPM."
  17. I was thinking of trying to source a 1mzfe. They have impressive numbers stock, especially torque. Starting to be quite common, but the compass needs to be turned, so to speak. It would be a shame to dismantle the whole car and kill another ae71. I might flare the rear end as an excuse to cut the rust out. Id probly do a shoddy cage in it and weld up the chassis. Keep the opinions flowing guys, this is good stuff.
  18. Hello everyone. Since i bought the ae71 parts car last week ive been thinking about just chucking a motor in it and thrashing it around whatever space i can get it to. It already has fairly firm aftermarket suspension in it, at the full ride height, so it could be fun to do. Would be easy too as all i need is a rwd bigport setup and I'm away. The other option is a little more exotic, which would probly be an ra65 celica with some breed of nice, torquey toyota v6. I know one option is cheap and cheerful and the other is going to be expensive and time consuming, but i just can't decide (money isnt really a massive concern as it takes what it takes), you know. Tell me what you guys and gals think!!
  19. If i was a betting man id say trev has got the wiring sitting there nearly complete. Looks good trev, good to see your doing stuff again.
  20. looks like they were found under the same tree, lol.
