  1. Yeah 40s will run ok I reckon. The kw figure is very similar so it should work. As I understand it the final hp result is what you go on with fuel systems, injection etc, so carbs should be a similar assumption I guess. Unless someone can correct us. I don't think that anyone will have relevant 7age/40mm webers expierience, anyhow. So as I always say, YOU WILL FIND OUT WHEN YOU DRIVE IT. I can't wait to see this. Id love a 7age setup. :locked:
  2. Cool car, although its not a sleeper with a bonnet like that.
  3. Custom springs ftw. I have cutties in the back and they are no good. I had too stiiff a spring to begin with, and once I cut em they just sucked. If you want drift, you will want to stiffen the rear, traction the opposite. Beerhead on this forum, or AJPS, or many suspension shops will get custom springs made for you and not very exxy. Make sure if you do cut the rears you leave the flat bottom mating surface alone, and cut the open wound top part only. When you cut the top part its not all that different to how it looks standard, but the spring rates will be all cocked up. Are you aware that they get stiffer as you cut them? I can't speak on fronts cause I have coilys there.
  4. Delete. BUY SHORT STROKE SHOCKS IF YOU PLAN TO CUT THE SPRINGS OR YOU MAY DIE. END DISCLAIMER.
  5. Me too, when I spin a bottom end or something like that ill rebuild it low comp and turbo it with the ae111 head.
  6. Ahh, why don't you read about the ke20 project cars in rides and projects?
  7. 85KW? Who cares about Horsepower with this motor, its all about NM isn't it?
  8. That Toowoomba range is certainly a tester of cars great and small. So wierd to have two confirmed sightings in one day, having never been able to confirm anyone in the past. Matt.
  9. Compression test?
  10. What a day rolla-watching. Firstly spotted Irokin on the highway and pulled over and had a chat. Secondly drove about 5 more klm and passed a Yellow ke70 Panelvan. No windows, Rollaclub newschool sticker on the back glass. Shiny wheels. Quite wide rubber. I gave a toot and a wave and took off. Nice ride btw.
  11. Good on ya ben. Happy Birthday.!
  12. Because you will laugh lots. At me as you pull away.
  13. Oh man thats gonna be funny.
  14. Yes definately quads. And a turbo!!!
  15. I have done some further reading on the 1ggte, and it is a better engine than I first gave it credit for. One bloke has given his 45psi of boost and it didnt pop. It was rebuilt obviously, but thats a lot of pressure. What does your car weigh, love ke70? Have you weighed it? How much heavier is it than say, a 4agte? This weight would be such a small problem in a drift car where the motor was slipped back 180mm. Do it, mate. It seems you could save for a bit longer and rebuild it really well. Then feed it 45 psi!!
  16. Why do we do it. Tit for tat till we both get banned. I will say though, I am a tradesman. I do not use it as an excuse to talk down to people and sound ignorant. There is no excuse for that, never has been. Anywhere, on the net, or on the job. It is not an excuse to forfeit my intelligence and education in favour of 'not caring' when something confronts me. Being a tradesman, you should know this. I can assure you that if some tradesman I didn't know walked up to me and called me boy, there would be more than words flying. You wouldn't like it, and you know it. Lover boy. How condescending does that sound? Just read the language you used. I was the one who asked you to post here to give this guy some real info, not just our opinions (which in your expierience were not correct). You spoke to me as though I said you and your car were shit and a shocking idea, when I didn't say that at all. I don't need your ego. This person needs your info though, so push the ego aside and tell them what you can about the car/engine/conversion. By the way, if you must know what was said, the people I spoke to about the 1ggte with were laughing at it and calling it 'toyotas poor attempt at an rb20' and rolling on the floor laughing at the same time. It was so funny. I guess you had to be there. Thats how much they respect your choice. You are so right, absolutely no DA people run your motor. There may be reason for that, what could it be?. Now those last few sentences would have justified your earlier responses. For what you wrote I should have written them first post, but I have this really unappreciated supply of tact sometimes, go figure. Honestly, Id rather we all get along. This is BS really, and Id rather we just both get back on topic and try to help this guy.
  17. Dude, I made a point of asking for your input, as you have a 1g. I made it clear what I wrote was what I'd heard, not necessarily what every single 1g owner has faced. Thats why I thought you might post, to lend the words of someone who has the engine in queston (the horses mouth). I'm not about to have some kind of pissing contest discussion about who I have spoken to, when, and about what and in what context, as I don't care what you think and have not a single thing to prove to you. I am not a scenester. Take my opinions/observations any way you wish. I assure you I'm not a boy, and resent being spoken to as one, but that wasnt even worth commenting on. I don't know why I carefully plan my use of language in my posts, when I'm entering discussions with people who don't do the same.
  18. Thats a pretty cool GF letting you strip cars in her yard. Mine would flip! Also, I really like those rims, just not on a car with as many curves as a ke55. They seem a little modern for the shape IMO. Otherwise, fantastic little car. ;) :D :)
  19. From the horses mouth, but did you move it all back 200mm into the firewall, lovey? The headgasket thing is just what Ive heard from some DA racers. Obviously thats why I called for your input. Don't ever cuss me again. f@$ker.
  20. ROFL!! Truly, I wish Mechanical Mcgyver was my dad, too. Wanna adopt a 26 year old? You can make me a turbo car and I promise, Ill drive it, Dad. That has a nice ring to it... ;)
  21. Great work dave. I was told the rear was easy and the front was hard. You must have approached it a little different to the person who told me that. Looks awesome anyhow. Why don't you message trev and get a jdm gt dohc badge too!!! That would complete the picture nicely. Time for paint!!! Or 4age!!
  22. Wow. Thats fast. :P
  23. 'Very nice. High-Five!' Great sleeper. Not an obvious weapon at all. I bet its sucker punched a few thousand people at the lights by now.
  24. I've got a hummer with a Hayabusa engine, what would you pay?
  25. Very nice work as usual. Care to make me a front strut tri-brace just like yours? Ill pay you. lol. Yours looks like the stiffest one Ive ever seen.
