Safe Load Od Psi For Standard 4age 20v Blacktop
LittleRedSpirit replied to Corolla_Gurl's topic in Automotive Discussion
Not that high. What motors are you talking about, the new TSI turbos are 9.6:1 and they use a variable lift and valve timing system to lower virtual compression also. Not options on an ae111. -
Safe Load Od Psi For Standard 4age 20v Blacktop
LittleRedSpirit replied to Corolla_Gurl's topic in Automotive Discussion
The only reason that people boost LS1s stock is because they don't have the cash to rebuild a v8 beforehand. Sure you get more power but something will go bang. They don't have 10.5:1 either, its 10:1-10.1:1. -

Engine go bang 11:1 compression plus 8psi is certain to fail. don't bother. Not without low comp pistons anyhow. -
Weirdest Thing Seen @ The Wreckers
LittleRedSpirit replied to JiP's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Not only are they charging entry, it doesnt even get you anything except an opportunity to have the fat goaty beard wearing asshole who runs the joint attempt to fleece you on the prices. I will never do any business with those assholes again. Despite the standard pricing board, he hits you up for more cash than what it says. And he doesn't mind telling you to piss off or laugh in your face when you ask for the correct price. ABC is so f@$king gay. END Rant. 2 bucks entry, what is it a nightclub or something? -
http://www.technotoytuning.com/ These guys may be able to do something. That sounds like a lot of money. Same cost as a hopper stoppers kit. If you can afford it, give it a whirl. The setup you showed us looks tuff as.

Dude, I would put money on the fact that your grounds are rooted. I had the same problem and it was fixed by getting some seriously fat cable and some big lugs for the end of it and making a lead which goes from negative battery terminal to the body. Also one from the engine block to the chassis, under the same bolt as the the battery ground. Redo the big starter cable too from the positive terminal of the battery to the starter motor. Also, inspect all the old cables as you remove them and look for spots that look like little tiny welds. This is where the electrical current has tried to and been intermittently permitted to flow and sparked and whatnot. The click without turning over is the dead giveaway. Check the voltage through the trigger wire on the starter. If you have bad grounds then this will be reading quite low. You probly need 9-10 volts here to turn over. Incidentally, while your doing all this electrical stuff, you should replace the ignition contacts. You only need a starter relay if you can't get the car started with the lights on. Good luck. PS your alternator regulator is rooted. 19v is massive across the terminals while running.

Seriously? Have you thought about it? Instead of an inline four with one cylinder in front of the front axle, it would have a full 6 cylinders behind the axle. Seems awesome to me. Interesting tasteful conversions are thin on the ground. Go hard I say. Matt

Anything doing with this one lateley?
-
Its from a us manual i have on cd. Its been accurate for anything ive needed. You tell me? Its for rwd so it just has features from all rwd models and how they were wired.
-
Hope you can make the info out ok. My printer sucks and I can't make a pdf or anything with the format the diagrams are on.

Ill see what I can find...

Love the car. Those wheels are so good for it. Impressive times too. Well done all round. :lolcry:

No. I reckon it would only be good if it was done in a similar fashion to Joshs' 86. ie: Massive firewall/tranny tunnel mods. It will never handle right if you don't. You need to avoid too much weight in front of the front axle. Once you put it on some corner scales you will see what everyones talking about. Do a v6 if you want torque and a v setup. It gives you the most cylinders behind the front axle without the extra 2 infront.

Ke10 !!4door!! Mint Condition ***new Pics***
LittleRedSpirit replied to ke10rolla's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Dude, if its your first car, don't drive it. Spray the whole thing with wd40 and put it under a tarp in the shed for 5-8years. Then, once you've crashed a few cars you can get it out and NOT WRECK THAT CLASSIC overrated CONDITION CAR. Please just leave it unmolested and pretend you are over 65 if you do decide to drive it. Or sell it. 6 grand is spot on. More than it cost new probably. -
Who Runs Positive Offset Wheels On There Ke?
LittleRedSpirit replied to flat out's topic in Automotive Discussion
You need to work out what you want to do with them, never mind what we've done. As I understand it, if your front track is greater than rear you will tend to over steer, and if the front is narrower, then you will tend to under steer. So is it for drift or for traction based driving? Offset needed to fill the guards varies widely with rim width. 7s should fit all round if they are the right offset, 8's will go close but you will need to lip your guards most of the time. What is the right offset you ask? TEST FIT. Depends on a bunch of things. -
Well I asked the dizzy question. They charge $380 to convert a 20valve for a standard ECU / RWD setup. They convert it to run with a different coilpack and a factory 20valve igniter. This essentially plates up the dizzy and uses it as a sensor and puts some coils in a different location. I was told the conversion can be done for 380 but you will have to provide your own coils and igniter to get it running. So will actually cost about $500 at least to get running. But once you have it you have it and you will save some money not needing tuning on a standard computer in the long run. I bet its well presented too. Anybody out there have pics of the kit? Yager don't have a strong presence on the web.

4age 20 Valve Silvertop Ticking
LittleRedSpirit replied to ae92_20valverolla's topic in General Mechanical
Both if you can, but its usually just the pulley. Not cheap and very had to find in Australia. It usually doesnt effect performance at all when the pulley atarts ticking. Its a 100,000klm service item I believe, and its usually really noisy by then, so if its loud it can be a good guide as to the klms on your motor. -
Thats five now. Planned out a basic route for the trip. Will do up a detailed message to everyone whos keen in a week or so.
-
Thats awesome, Dave. A real statement about what you can do on a budget. Its going to look great all buffed.
